  1. I have the previous 2 versions of these. All versions have minimal offset and play very neutral. The 1st version was basically an extension of the EGG utilities WITH THE IBRID head shape.. This posed a problem with the short irons around the green. The sole was too wide and clunky to be effective. The FORCE OF EGG 2013 VERSION that I have now is much improved in feel and performance (and looks very similar to the SUPER EGG in BASIC HEAD SHAPE, BUT THE CAVITY and materials in it look different. . 7-PW. The 2 level sole design makes for great contact, and the wedge is very versatile around the greens for chipping. Maybe the best iron for fw bunker shots ever designed. You have to adjust your bag setup as the EGG irons play 10 TO 15 YARDS LONGER per club. As a result, I use a 2nd pitching wedge as well as a gap wedge AND SW , and and 5 and 6 EGG UTILITIES. There is no iron as long as these.
  2. I have tried a few Honma drivers. My favorite to date is the Perfect switch 440. The Armrq shafts are always excellent.
  3. The 2014 Gloire plays similar to the 1st gen Gloire thru the ball. The face squares and releases easily thru the ball. The Gloire Reserve is a bigger and more cumbersome head thru the ball and a lower ballflight given the same loft and more anti left.
  4. No. If you wanted an adjustable Hybrid with similar slot technology the SLDR and Gloire meet those needs. Why buy a fixed glued club when you want an adjustable hybrid?
  5. i have a 12 degee 430 SLDR but due to the harsh winter I havent used it yet except at the winter heated range with frozen rocks. Not the best test environment. I also have a 12 degree 460 SLDR that I have set to 14 degrees with a tour sleeve and a Miyazaki Kusula white shaft. THE 460 SLDR is dialed in big time, and one of my top 5 goto drivers. I get a perfect controlled draw trajectory. I had off the chart results yesterday with the MT 5 in the GLOIRE head. Today I will try the MT in both the 430 and 460 SLDR along with the MESSENGER.
  6. I think my shaft search has ended for the Gloire DRiver. I put a GD MT 5 in the head at 46 inches total length. Today was a good day to evaluate as the temps were in the mid 60 to low 70s and the high winds the past 2 days dried out the course. I hit the club so good on the range with my desired trajectory, a strong mid to high draw that got at least 10 yards roll I put it in play in the season opening tournament and missed 1 fw in 14 and that was only 1 yard in the 1st cut rough. No snap hooks , or lagging right shots. The GT 5 shaft is maybe the best feeling smoothest shaft ive ever hit. My good hits were in my summer average distance range, the 260 to 275 range. I was also impressed on the into the wind performance, that had been lacking with other shafts I tried. The ATTAS 4U was great in calm or down wind conditions, but dropped off big time into the wind. I have a MT 6 also and will try that after the next major snow event (coming monday) who knows when Il be able to play again but I cant see it beating the MT 5. . The Glorie 5 hybrid I only had a chance to hit once today on a 185 yard uphill par 3. I pured it over the flag, but was long 50 feet past the pin. I wish I was closer , but the shot quality was as good as I can expect.
  7. You can square the face by lowering the loft.
  8. So far the ATTAS 4U at 45.75 has the best results. Today Im testing the GD MT 5 at 46 inches.
  9. I have the Gloire 2014 driver and am still in the shaft matching process. When I find a great setupI i will report back. The Gloire 3W is fantastic. The stock shaft was a bit llight and loose like the driver. A Speeder 661 turned out to be the perfect fit for me. It is equally great off the tee or deck. The feel is fantastic, and it makes fw play very easy. I just put 2 new GLOIRE 2014 Hybrids in play. The stock HYBRID shafts are much tighter and crisper than the driver and FW shafts. They were a perfect fit out of the box. I turned the 5 from 24 to 22.5. 1st shot I hit was 185 yards to 5 feet from the pin. Perfect mid trajectory dead straight. The 66 27 degree I de lofted to 25.5. Super easy to hit. These hybrids are a match for the EGG UT in wow factor and ease of use and are even more forgiving.
  10. THE weather is finally breaking and I have 5 shafts to try in the new GLORIE.It will be sunny and in the 60s the next 2 days. Course is a swamp, so carry distance and control is the goal. I have a mix of SLDR sleeves that can go up or down in loft 1.5 degrees, and tour SLDR sleeves that can go up or down 2 degrees. 1. FUBUKI 60 ZT 2. ATTAS 4U 3. ARMRQ 6 54 4. TRPX MESSENGER. 5 MIYAZAKI KUSULA BLUE 56 PS. The 2014 Glorie 3W reshafted with a speeder 661 is off the charts good. I just havent had a chance to tweak the Driver yet due to the extreme winter. My goal is to get the driver to work as good as the 3w. IN addition to the 5 shafts listed an MT 5 and MT 6 are on the way.
  11. I am a big time EGG fan. I have all versions going back to the originals. I didnt think anything could compete wiith them) That said the new GLORIE 3w is ungodly good. As easy to hit as any fw thats ever been made, (WITHOUT PERFORMANCE DROPOFFS) and you can adjust the loft from 13.5 to 16.5 degrees (13 to 17 if you get a tour SLDR SLEEVE) . I hit the stock shaft just fine but put a speeder 661 in there and its off the charts a great combo for me.
  12. Im thinKing 24 and 27 degree heads and with the tour sleeves I have I can adjust the loft up to 2 degrees each way.
  13. If you think the GLORIE 2014 driver is something special and it is...... The 3w is as good or better. The stock shaft is on the loose side like the driver but I have a SPEEDER 661 in there and its amazing. Best 3w off the deck and tee I ever hit (including the EGGS). I havent played in temps above 45 degree in 4 months and mostly in the mid 30s. Even in matted dowm winter bermuda it is easy and long off the deck. The EGG utilities have been at the top of my hybrid queue for years, but based on the 3w performance I am going to check out the hybrids.
  14. Ive been using drivers 45.75 to 46.5 inches for several years. I am a smooth tempo swinger and not a hitter and I believe that profile swing adapts to longer clubs easier. What really helps is putting a light counterweight 4 to 8 grams under the grip. It reduces the swing weight and adds control. I Have beeN using a Fourteen CT 112 since last June that is just under 47 inches. .i found it to be a very forgiving club that can produce wow factor bombs and not to bad misses. .
  15. Reviews of..... Fourteen 2014 GelongD CT214 Driver JDM versions of Big Bertha and Big Bertha Alpha
  16. I would classify driver Nirvana into 3 categories. 1. Best feel and reward on a pure hit. - SYARD T.388 - stock shaft. 2. Longest wow factor distance. - ADAMS LAUNCH LAB with project x. (3 straight drives over 300 yards. Conditions were perfect yes, (This club is unmatched for pure distance) 3. Best overall driving performance (distance and consistent accuracy) Fourteen CT 112 stock S. 4. Currently... Anything I get a chance to hit (we are mired in an ARCTIC WINTER around DC.) Coldest winter in years. Have no idea when I will get to play again. Hoping in a few weeks but the remaining snow will be a bitch to melt. POLAR VORTEX coming again late Monday thru Thursday. will not help at all.
  17. Update JAN 16. Played in 36 degrees today that felt much colder. 9 holes was enough. The SLDR 430 is not the best club for swamp conditions for most mortals. Get as much loft as you can handle. You must have a different mindset with this club and PUT THE EGO aside. Taylor is coming up with a 14 degree 460 SLDR that can be bumped to 16 degrees.. I am putting the 430 on hold until it warms up and dries out this spring. The new Glorie driver however is great for cold weather conditions. Easy carry and nice shock dampening.
  18. The weather has been awful this winter, and I havent played a round in temps above 44 degrees in 2 months. That said I finally got out and had a chance to put the new Gloire 3w into play the for 2 rounds. It is very impressive. It has great feel and balance and might be the easiest and best fw Ive ever hit off the deck to get a great mid high ballflight. It plays very neutral. It is also as good off the tee. We have a short par 4 that is 272 yards slightly downhill from the winter tees. . I put it on the front fringe with the 3w this past Monday. I am using the stock setup and like the weight and balance. The 3w has bottom weights up near the front and the SLDR/JETSPEED speed slot in the sole.
  19. I have had mine since OCT. i also have the originals. The newer models have a stronger trajectory. I can actually play the ball back and hit a low shot into the wind. That was not possible with the original. The feel is very explosive, more like a metalwood than an iron/utility.
  20. These clubs remind me of the Callaway Warbird with the V sole and bore thru hosel, but the sole is shaped more like the Stan Thompson Ginty.
  21. The touring pros have asked Taylormade to make a 14 degree version of the 430. I have the 430 12 degree set to 13.8 degrees, and it flights like a Titleist 913 d3 at 9.5.
  22. I should have written the response better. The both response was to the question comparing the 2014 Glorie to the 430 SLDR. i ONLY HAVE THE US version of the 430. The only difference I can see head wise is the JDM has a dark colored face. The crown is similar in both JDM and US. versions. I did get to the range today. Not a good environment to get a real assessment. Temps in the mid 30s , and range rock balls due to the extreme cold. The SLDR 430 was not hard to hit at all. ( HOWEVER i HAVE A TOUR SLEEVE THAT BUMPED THE LOFT UP TO 14 DEGREES. IT IS NEEDED AS THIS IS A SUPER LOW SPIN HEAD.. Temps are projected to be near 50 by the end of the week. If the rain melts most or all of the snow before the arctic air hits tuesday, hopefully I can get to the course by next Friday or SAT. If so I will put the 2014 GLORIE head to head against the 430 SLDR.
  23. Well..... I happen to have both. I just got the US version of the 430, but haven't even had a chance to hit it yet as winter is so cold here even the heated ranges are closed. Temps haven't been out of the teens and 20s all weeK and we have 6 inches of snow on the ground. However I have all 3 versions of the GLORIE. i have had a chance to try the new GLORIE for the last 3 weeks to compare it against the previous 2 versions. I am a big fan of the original Glorie. Once I got the right shaft (A CRAZY PROTOTYPE) I got really dialed in with it and hit this controlled high draw that is automatic. The Glorie reserve was probably longer and lower hitting, but I basically hit a straight ball with it (yet I couldnt get it dialed in) The head has a big signature, and when I hit it pure it was a very impressive package. I have to be honest here and last spring I put the reserve on the back shelf because the SYARD T388 AND Ryoma Maxina V spec moved to the A BAG followed up by the FOURTEEN CT 112.. In the limited time Ive have hit the new GLORIE, it seems to combine the ball flight of the 1st Glorie with the pop of the Reserve. It has a hotmelted feel at impact. I have a 10.5 and you have to set it at it lowest loft to square the face at address and bring the ballflight down. similar to the 1st Glorie. I havent played in temps outside of mid 40 temps in 2 months so distance is less than normal for any club, The new Glorie Stock SHAFT IS VERY SOFT. i PUT A TRPX Messenger in IT (sleeve is the same as SLDR, R1 etc, not R11 etc). So far so good. Mid/high draw. It will probably be 2 months before a decent day above 60 happens but it will be mid 40s today, and hopefully the heated ranges are open. If so I will put it head to head against the 430. (i DO HAVE 2 460 SLDRS). Loft is your friend. The more loft the better. My best SLDR setup is a 12 degree set to 13.5 with a KUSSULA BLUE. My 10.5 SLDR is set to 12 degrees with a Fubuki K 50. (The weight is one notch left of center to the draw side. . i have a few tour sleeves that can bump the loft up 2 degrees, and will put a TRPX Ravie in there to add to the launch. Since the SLDR 430 is even lower hitting than the 460 I would suggest as much loft as possible. I have been reading several mixed posts on the SLDRS on several boards. 1st off if you have the right fit dialed in the SLDR is a goto driver. Most tour pros have the SLDR set 11 degrees and up. Several people on these boards are going under 10 degrees and having to struggle.
  24. I saw that also. Cant believe that wasn't caught.. Here are specs from another source. SLDR 430 / 9° RH 59-62° 430cc 45.25" D4 SLDR 430 / 10.5°RH/LH 59-62° 430cc 45.25" D4 SLDR 430 / 12° RH 59-62° 430cc 45.25" D4
