  1. the stinger x cpms at 279, i had it measured tonight .
  2. T get em back in yr bag. they are soft/hard. like a balloon full of water loving them dearly. the 2010 hve grown on me a lot , that extra slash lines on the back actualy appeals to me now. ill post some piccys this weekend of my yamaha hoard.
  3. picked up my ryoma with the graphite design p9003x lsat night straight to the range as expected. not as many balls as i normally hit , but plenty to get a good impression of the new brute. exactly the same head 9.5* love it very strong punchy feel, weight is good 45 x d3 x 330 gram highish ball flight, much higher than the stinger no wandering offf path, just ballistics out there, seems like its 85% carry, not sure if theres much roll with this, theell be a bit but not lots. the stinger much more electric feel. lowr flight more piercing. more roll for certian. stinger much much better feeling club, but then agn its 700 us more to buy! def the stinger is the more enjoyable and lower piercing of these but the p9003x is a fantasic club. obv ill have to hit it with real balls first to make proper decision. but it def wont be as nice. but its worth a spot for sure im comparing a 1000 usd shaft to a 400 one and the differnce is most certianly noticeable. but that doesnt make the gd bad. it just shows how good the stinger actually is . most def a good combo th GD is going to be a great combo, it will deliver good results, strong long and straight. this is a good shaft in t his head chaps. well worht it for the stronger drivers out there
  4. YEA i had the same results when i flatted the epon 302 7 iron i have 1.5* it just sings now. the differnce is quite amazing.
  5. well not sure about the look, but the idea is fantastic. i have an idea for a putter iwant made. the sahpe ive only seen in an antique ping want to change it arund into something a litle nicer might give him a ring
  6. picked up a 50 * one of these to counter the madness of a 46* pw i have these days. and it used it a bunch in hawaii. very thin sole very thin , rounded edge at address suoerb at clipping the bal clean and chipping to the pin form around the green, used this alsmot exclsuively hit it form the sand a cpl of times30 yard shots , brilliant results was seriosuly impressed with this more than i care to admit. the spin on it is perfectly fine without being outrageous, and its soft as a babies bum its got the job as the gap wedge i need. def worth a look
  7. well i dont actually do the building bit, hat i lave to skilled workman, but i get an idea in my head and get him to do it. does this count? design VS construction. all construction needs an architect right ?
  8. think u might struggle with that question
  9. i just did my other ryoma with the p9003x im gagging to hit that, if its half as good as the stinger it will be brilliant. as for the j beam tour,, yes they need a much more lofted club to counter the boxy shape that drills the ball groundward 11* in this would be sensational as i think its as long as anything esle there is.
  10. its a howler..! i bought it just bec it was 70* and i wanted to see what that does nad you can almost hit yr self on the head with it. that trick shot mickelson does over his head.????? well aint done it yet but ..., no i use it for lobbing over bunker edges when a pin is super tight to the fringe out of rough close to the green. down hill lies in thick rough think over shooting the green, pin at the back. short down hill lobs i used it a heap i n hawaii save me a lot. this thing doesnt spin it just rolls its the ugliest weirdest club ever , but it works for me a treat.
  11. yea good thoughts. i think ul find as u get better the epon 302 race up the rankings i also couldnt get along with them till i discoveeid i neded to flatten the lie 1.5 * , which i did to a 7 iron i have and now hit as well if not better thna anything else . the 302s are exceptional for the better players. i think....... the 502s my mate has and hes hit most clubs JDM , and absolutely swears by them. hes a 12 marker. everythings relative. the miuras i dont know about the ones uve got i have had a few sets of blades and cavities cb1006. solid players irons! and cb 3001 super easy cavities ( i actually palyed my best round with these) the biggest difference is i nthe shape for me. the miuras are much more square than epon i think this also makes a big difference. if u like looking at squareer lines then epon mighten be the best bet vice versa over all i find the miuras to be a lot clickier than epon ,epon is the most rediculously soft feel there is. regardless of what shaft is in them on wet days id use the epon 100% on dry hard pan id use miura, miura tend to make thinner soled clubs as well. depends on what u like to hit. theres no best/ better, its totally relative to your eye and swing comparing these .
  12. i e been wrestling with the idea of putting top shaft in a ute after the success of the roddio in the egg iron, my RC utes have steel in them whic go ok , but 3 18* is too high wasthinking of the GD md range they are terrific in FWS
  13. for a free spot. unquestionably go for a rogue wedge if ur confident with 13 then a super wedge is an absolute must ur hoping u never need it, but when u do its a shot saver. i use the bunker meijin 70* for this purpose and i use it a lot more than i thought i needed it.
  14. 100% agree on the quadra 65s i n the epon 101 its a tried and true deliverer. nothing better . just a cpl of equals. utes. well ive been uteing for 6 months now and im finding the RC seem to have the best overall feel and performance ive played for my game. i use the 18 -21- 24 degree ones and rotate them along with a cpl of prgr egg irons ive converted. depending on course. the 18* ute doent go as far as my yamaha 5 wood, but goes much higher , so i can bag both for differnt shots. and its got the stock NS 950 s steel in it. awsome club. the yamaha ute is very similar, just bigger, shape is pretty identical, maybe for higher handicapper its a better choice , its a little lighter. or the overall weight is dispersed more evenly, the RC is heavy prgr 3gg in 17* is another one its massively long, but in 17* they are hens teeth. plus its nothing like a ute. the RC wood u r taklikng baout the sfd might be ur best club, its bigger and sleeker, the bbd is an all ime classic FW for better palyers if thats available ,the sfd wont let u down, just shaft it right!
  15. very interested in the shaft shoot out as a comparison the 90003x is a on the higher side i find as well. but it delivers a so staright shot, and u get great roll with it. agreee with the GD feel. but, a really muscled up feel. the crazy i find much lower and glassier i think the components of it are superior, but for over all performance and price the 9003x is great. i liken it in a way to that hideous v2 proforce thing. but much better feeling, shot seems the same, the V2 tho is unquestionably the worst feeling shaft of all time , but god it get the ball out there. pros i can see why they use that thing. but i like my clubs to have that special " thing" crazy quadra deliver that every shot with massive distance and an incredible lively feel. even over the stinger ( full boron), the crazies/ quadra feel better. but saying that the best shaft i have ever put in a fw is a stinger x from 2004 in to, my yamaha v 14 , 5 wood, day light between this and everything else. this 5 wood i can almost use as a 3 wood , allows me to use that D/S or kasco in place of a 3 wood. with me, the crazy / quadra range just feels better then everything else. if u like glass feeling like i do then its impossible to play anyhting else im discovering
  16. well ive never hit so many balls. self drive carts, and empty fairways just suit my stlye. no pressure , just ball striking for 10 days. 36 a day plus at least a cpl of balls per hole , so im totally au fait on how nothing left behind, no stone un turned. most used was the j beam 425/ crazy 80 ls 2 got the lowest spin , lowest launch , fairway hit consistancy , although it was a little shorter than the other 2 in distance( and length , playing 43.5) didnt seem to bother me. just hiting fairways a lot took the pressue off the ryoma/ diamana stinger 70 x was the 2nd lowest spin, lowest launch . longest over all distance wise, and actually into the wind the most reliable , bec the weight was 20 grams heavier than the jbeam. and played at 44.75 . this had the best trajectory, piercing , solid thumps mid launch ( mid low really) not really workable , maybe just a fraction, the Xflex and the ryoma shape put the kybosh on any real ability to shape balls. but for aiming down the pipes and bombing this is superb. wont be changing this set up at all. perfect in every way miss hits were still superb, toe shots got out there still. no hooks and only cpl of horrid slice-matrons to psssssss me off. theres so much dialoge on ryoma , its just a great club. the crazy 460 / sigma 83 gram combo. high launch. low spin max carry incredible sound, the best by a mile, really electric ping to it . distance was huge when the wind stopped. i preferd this club when the conditions were perfect. its a slight draw bias , not a lot , just a smidge, enough to confidently line up on the left side and aim at the right bunkers . and get a small draw. the head shape is easily my most preferd , i love the look of the small triangle shape and the humongous face. lie angle slightly up to give it a real draw feel. down wind it sailed forever into it tho, hmmmmmmmmmmm just a bit to high launch for windy days. the feel of it is superb. its electric, its pingy, its loud, and it looks like the quality is second to none. much better than the other two didnt get a lot of run with it, its all carry. but carry a mile. if ur looking for a higher spinning head then this is hard to beat. the look of it is just great. day in . day out id use the ryoma of these for sure. in diffcult times the j beam and on perfct days the crazy. they are all very differnt styles of driver. if it wernt for the taughtness of the 8ls2 the j beam would be my pick but the ryoma just gets the nod in all conditions. most enjoyable to pound was definatly the crazy. just watching the ball sail high is such a good sight, i never see any more. all superb clubs really.
  17. yea, or a more lofted head. the 425 tour combo is right at the cusp of too hard its says 10* but i think it played to 8.5 i payed this driver more than any other in hawaii bec its so low, short and controllable, i guess i lost a max. of 15 yards on most shots over the ryoma. which didnt matter in the slighttest ove there. maybe this and the 10* yamaha tour would be good. or a 10.5* ryoma this needs to be in a mac dayy head. no doubt or its totally wasted. pick up the ryoma / p9003x tom, see how that goes. boy its gonna be hard to get that 425 out of the bag now tho, just got so used to it.
  18. well a week solid of yamaha 2010 irons only .first time ive ever taken only one set these things are super aggressive. u most def cannot hang off them they are for thumping down on the shafts are just so go -get -em so mucxh more than anything elese iver ever hit, but high and straight. land magnificently softly . yesterday i ranged for a n hour after a round at ko'olau ( what the hell is that course all about???) and finally learned after 20 yrs of golf , how to hit down on a ball , ball after ball. these clubs turned form , hmmmmm maybe ive bitten off more than i can chew to out and out superb sticks. now i see how the big boys hit so many greens regardless of conditions. was striping the ball better than i ever have before and these are really incredible, (athoughi think they might still be a bit too much for me.) boy the shaft change makes an incredible differrence. even the length change up from 5i @ 37.5 to 37.75 made these feel like a totally differnt club. the yamaha brand is firmly entrenched in my bag now, going to take something monumental to usurp these. cant wait ti gt back on saturday and play my new 2011s with te ORA X flex. i dont think the 2f14s are going to find a home with me, after using the 215s tho. these ones i think might be a step too far day in day out after a solid week tho ive got them wired, but dont htink ill game them every day the oras have that duty. super super clubs over all rating day in out 9.8/10
  19. the cerazy is MILES stiffer than anything in its flex. nothing except the proforce v2 is near it buthe crayzy as some feeel to it im gaming my jbeam 425 -- crazy 80 ls 2 and the ball doenst get above head height , it goes dead straight and runs for miles. im losing aout 15 yards on pure shots agaisnt the ryoma stinger combo , prob bec mines its at 43.5 inch but hitting the middle ofthe fairway more its the most rigid shaft ive ever hit. this combo is perfect for here and in oz where it will live happily ever after. its also not that hard to conenct with, 43.5 inch kinda suits as well when u get sued to the length playing the crazy 460 sigma today see how that fares.
  20. the 11s arethe mack daddy in looks then the 08s the 09 and 10 have sharper lines on the back. the head shape ibeleive is identical. im playing the 10s with the NS 2fi5s i nthem right now in hawaii and im glad i brought these over not the 08s oras they still launch high but tighter and heavier. getting the scorers to land soft and stick on the lovely paspalum grass. good combo! the 2011s are the sexiest if u like rounded lines , if u like hard shaep lines the 09- 10s are better just depeneds they pal fantastically. bit of a worry on the big sole fron tho, for a digger it can get a bit deep somtimes. but boy they pack a mean punch these proto shafts are just out of this world, theres nothing like them (but then agn so they should be) one more set to come and im conplete. ,
  21. the 11s arethe mack daddy in looks then the 08s the 09 and 10 have sharper lines on the back. the head shape ibeleive is identical. im playing the 10s with the NS 2fi5s i nthem right now in hawaii and im glad i brought these over not the 08s oras they still launch high but tighter and heavier. getting the scorers to land soft and stick on the lovely paspalum grass. good combo! the 2011s are the sexiest if u like rounded lines , if u like hard shaep lines the 09- 10s are better just depeneds they pal fantastically. bit of a worry on the big sole fron tho, for a digger it can get a bit deep somtimes. but boy they pack a mean punch these proto shafts are just out of this world, theres nothing like them (but then agn so they should be) one more set to come and im conplete. ,
  22. finally puled the trigeur on the 2011s the cavity is the sexiest design along with the epon 302 ive seen. pulled the shafts and putting a set of Ns proto ORA x flex in them , wont be ready for hawaii unfortunatly, but im taking the 2010s for a good workout. the 2011s are exactly the same lie as the previous models. they are exactly as bogey said ,a meld of the 08s and the 10s lower ball flight then the 08s the cavity just wins. could be bibibibi to blades for ever. oh and.........., damn those wedges look good gotta get a set of them. keep pontificating over them. right im getting em, taking em to hawaii tonight report in a cpl of days.
  23. just gamed it yesterday for first time and it took me a while to get it ok. was leaving everything short front 13 then got its range over last 5 and was really impressed. feel is super not butter soft but just perfect. good feeback for omehting so heafty as well knew pretty much instantly when i didnt hit the insert on the screw. off centre was still ok tho not too drastic loss of distance and i was putting ordinary yeaterday aswell so i got to see all its highs and lows. the leather grip is beautiful to hold. the 33 inch is perfect for me. nad at thei weight it makes the club flow pretty smoothly. taking it to hawaii for a cpl of weeks solid against my matsumotos mz-10 and mz- 07 , that wil be a battle royale to see what stays in the bag long term. never had a putter this heavy before but so far so good.
