  1. Okay, I understand all that as when I check frequency i check it in 6" increments from tip to butt. I was just saw the general statement that trimming the tip would not stiffen it and I knew that was not right. And I agree the flight want be affected that much. I also getting getting fit for the right shaft up front is always best.
  2. I am curious about the Tip trimming or butt trimming does NOT really affect FLEX at all. I would like to know more. Butt trimming has no affect on flex and I agree but tip trimming can change the flex a lot. You can put a shaft on a frequency machine and cut it 1/2 inch and it can change as much as 5 cpm's depending on the shaft.
  3. I am real curious now after reading this where do shafts like the aerotech steelfiber shafts fall? I had them in my epon 502's and really liked them but the flight was what I thought was to high. Since then I have tried 950S, 1150S, S400 and my last one this week was TT black Gold. The main reason I'm interested is now after playing the BG shaft I can hardly lift my right arm cause my elbow is sore and swollen like tennis elbow. I don't remember having this issue with the aerotech's. I guess what I am really want to know by going back to aerotech shafts what do I give up or gain? dispersion, distance...
  4. Gocchin, Supo67, How close are you guys to all the destruction? It is something you can look out your windows and see or maybe smoke in the distance? Never been to Japan so just real curious. Is it affecting you because so many people left their towns to move to higher ground? Hope you found food today as I cannot even dream what you guys have been through. My thoughts are with you both.
  5. Thanks, I think were the only ones that like it.
  6. Cannot imagine what you guys are going thru. Prayers are with you and your families and everyone there that may be affected by this awlful event.
  7. no interest in trades right now. Thanks for asking.
  8. Think I would break something if I tried some of those walks.
  9. Beautiful putter but don't know much about it. I bought it off another site. Only thing I was told it was a made for JDM market. Maybe someone can add more to this since my lack of knowledge. I'm not using it so its time to go to someone who will. I paid over $300 for it but my asking price is $200.00 It plays to 34" lenght. Headcover included.
  10. Classic look and not found in the states very often. The VC-01 has conforming grooves and is their latest model. They have a very classic look and they feel great. Suppo plays the muscle version of this club if not mistaken. Vega VC-01 4-PW Nippon 1150gh stiff softstepped 1x ( this was done to add lenght for my height) I have the extra shaft that I will include in case someone wants to go back to standard. 4 iron has Black widow tour silk with 2wraps (white 5-pw / karakal oversize white and orange grips alternating colors. grips all new 6 iron lenght is 37.75 selling for $500.00 with a retail that was over $1500.00
  11. Spoon, you may remember I am in transistion to find the right shaft for my game. So far with my swing this is what I have hit. TT s400 tour issue s : Great dispersion and flight nice and low. Weight could become issue if playing more than 18 holes. (two shoulder surguries and bad knees as I gave to many hits playing football) Steelfiber Aerotech 110 s: Nice feeling shaft but hit it to high. Nippon 950 sr: Way to light for my swing. KBS tour S softstepped: Only played once but the one thing that stood out was the amount of spin created with this shaft. Everything I hit was stopping dead or backing up. TT Black golf r: have not installed yet Nippon 1150 s: waiting to arrive. I am what I think of as a smooth swinger. I do not take big divots but I have a very late release putting lots of bend in the shafts. My size is 6'1 and weight around 210 and my swing because of my build is more of a stack and tilt type swing. My swing speed averages around 83mph but that is probably 80% percent of what I can do. I have always played stiff shafts but I was thinking of going softer for more control. My current irons are Vega VC-01 and Yamaha inpress 2010 tour issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  12. I picked up a set of 1150's from One9reasons and I can't wait to try them out. My questions is I am 6'1 so I play +1/2 so can I softstep nippon shafts like all the other brands or are they sensitive to this? thanks, Kent
  13. Thanks guys, I will see if I can get a hold of a 1050 and a 1150 and see how they feel.
  14. In trying the 950's compared to my other choices the 950's seem to be to light for me and no one around me carries nippon shafts.
  15. Since were on the subject of Nippon, Can someone give a little insight on the differences betwwen the SP red and orange models? I know the red is lighter but what else can be expected? Right now I have a set of KBS black nickel stiff softstepped, one set of TT black gold reg, and the 950 in a S/R. The 950s are to flexible so i should have got the stiffs but thats is why I was considering the Super peening models. I am just trying to find the best shaft for my game and it seems to be a challenge. I have a smooth swing with a very late release putting lots of bend on my shafts. But when it comes to distance I only hit my 7 iron around 160yds.
