  1. My fitter handed me the demo 7i today, took some comparison pix with my Tour CB. The finish is quite nice....would hate to scratch it up tomorrow....
  2. I would call the Roddio FW mid size. It's between the Epon 202 3HT and the Ryoma FW. Hope this helps!
  3. My very first Gold's is finally here, in time for the Lunar New Year holidays!
  4. @nobmontana: I really like the Basi Beta FW + Roddio FW. The lower/stronger trajectory of the Beta FW balances off the higher launching characteristics of the Roddio FW. I find the FW65 a bit too light and I am waiting for the FW75, which is out of stock until January.... @neova: the Roddio FW Spoon has two speed slots/channels, one on top and one at the bottom. They make the head quite forgiving and long; however this also makes the sound a bit hollow but still muted, which I prefer over loud/metallic sound.
  5. Hi guys, some updates before the 2016 season: - GPOM: not really an update, but I cracked my original GPOM right down the middle, my fitter replaced it with a limited edition silver head. - Roddio FW Spoon w/ Basileus Beta FW: my first 3W since the original Callaway Steelhead. Great club, so easy to hit. - Romaro Ray UT Type-R w/ Basileus UT: finally kick the Pings out of my bag, now I understand why RR UT Type-R has been so popular for so long. - Zodia CM2-Plus: great looking irons with unique soft/crisp feel. Currently in rotation with my Epon Tour CBs, depending on my mood. - Gold's Factory Custom GFA00A GSS: order placed....the wait starts! Enjoy the pix~
  6. Sticker remover or nail polish remover will do the trick.
  7. Very nice! Love the Epon carry bags.
  8. idrive: the Miura wedges are superb both in aesthetic and performance. Although the Epon wedges provides a bit more feedback, these Miuras are just buttery soft and the smaller profile/minimalist back just look that much better! Dakara: after not touching a golf club for 8 years (marriage and kids) and just trying to get back into the game, I do not find that I have a need for a FW so far (the last FW I played was the original Callaway Steelhead...haha). My reasons are: 1) given the current breed of drivers, I do not find the FW to be more accurate off the tee; 2) I do not expect to get on the green in two for par 5s, thus my hybrid or long irons work fine on layups. On some short par 5s, my 20 degree hybrid is enough to give me a chance to get on in two.
  9. Yes, these are textured/checkered neoprene headcovers, works really well! Had to switch out the Epon headcover because they do fall off a bit too easily.
  10. This Epon bag is actually one of the lightest JDM synthetic leather caddie bag I came across, weights only 3.5 kg, which is a full 2kg lighter than the regular Epon caddie bag. That is actually one of the reason why I bought it.
  11. Hi guys, here is my 2015 bag ~ Driver : GP One Minute / Basileus 2015 AAA 60S Hybrid : Ping i20 20/23 / Fujikura MCH 70S Irons : Epon AF-Tour CB 4-P / KBS C-Taper R+ Wedge : Miura MB5000WC 52/57 / K's-Wedge HW120 Putter : Scotty Cameron California Monterey Recent changes include 1) re-shafted my driver with the Basileus 2015 AAA, which proves to be a better fit to my swing than the Alpha it replaced; further improved my driver distance and consistency; 2) replaced 503s with the Tour CBs. My golf buddy has been egging me on to replace my hybrids and putter, but so far I am able to resist given that their performance are to my satisfactory. The old adage of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!" some what holds true to me...but it's still nice to have new toys once in a while....haha. Just received Epon's "The Dragon of Echigo" bag, love the understated look that the all black color scheme created! The red accents are the icing on the cake!
  12. I tested/owned all the irons that you are considering and would categorize them as follows: - Players CB: 302; AF-Tour CB - GI: 503, Onoff Kuro, 303 - SGI: 703 I gamed the 503s for the past year and was looking for a second set of players iron to be used at the range to further improve my ball striking. After reading through rave reviews on the Onoff Kuros, I got a second hand set to try for a few weeks. I find the Kuros to be too similar to the 503s (both loft and ease of use) so I sold them. I then tried the new Epon 303 and Tour CB, personally I think 303 is basically the 503 without the pocket cavity (again, both in loft and ease of use) and the Tour CB is the true sucessor to the 302. I ended up getting the Tour CB as my practice irons. As for the 703s, they are definitely SGI, very easy to use but not pretty to look at given the supersized head. I would recommend getting any of the the three sets in the GI category (depends on your personally preference) and keep the 302s as practice irons. Hope this helps!
  13. One of my friend recently switched from Diamana X to 2015 AAA (60X), his drives range from 290 - 330, depends on how hard he swings. He seems more accurate with the AAA. I actually just got back from the range with my first session with the AAA (60S)/GP One Minute combo, had the Alpha (60S) before. I am very impressed with the difference the AAA made. - Distance: I gained around 10 yards vs. the Alpha; - Dispersion: I find the AAA a lot more stable and limited my bad shots to the really bad swings, everything else is within play; - Playability: I can swing easy with it and the ball still rockets off the face, at the same time, I could swing hard with it without loosing control/timing of the shaft, which happens to me sometimes when I swing too hard with the Alpha, miss the low kick point timing. Overall, I think the AAA suits me better than the Alpha. I have a quick transition with my driver SS in the low 100s, with the mid kick point, I felt the AAA is stable all across, which allows me to go after it without worrying about the timing. Highly recommended!
  14. I was a bit surprised by the lower launch as well given that it looks to be a GI driver. The club maker did mention that the J version is designed to be lower launching when comparing to the H version (which I didn't get a chance to hit to compare). I think the shaft has something to do with my result (the MJ shaft is stable with mid-kick). When comparing to AF-153, 504 is not as soft/sticky feeling as the 153. I got around the same distance, 504 perhaps a tad bit longer, but not by much.
  15. I had the chance to hit the 504D-J at my local golf shop yesterday, the club maker paired it with the new Tour AD shaft (I think it's the MJ 6S), here are my findings: - Launch Angle: I immediately noticed how low the ball launches, seems to be much lower than my Basileus Alpha 60S + GP One Minute; launch monitor shows around 9 -11 degree launch. - Dispersion: the dispersion for this combo beat out my current club, everything seems to be going straight! This is probably the part that impressed me the most. - Distance: 5-10 yards shorter than my current driver. - Feel: classic Epon feel, soft with a hint of springiness underneath it, if you know what I mean. If I am looking for a new driver, this would be one of the clubs to test for sure.
