I'm looking for a new 3 wood and this has caught my eye. My preference is for a very soft feel, similar to what you get with a forged Ti face. The old Ping Si3 drivers are an example. In steel, if you recall, the old Mizuno Blue Rage (Ridge?) fairways had a very soft feel. If anyone can comment, I'd be most thankful. Cameron Reddy

Sure, I can do that. Though it may take me a couple of days. I’ll see what I can do. You can also pick up any Ping i5 iron. Exactly the same offset. In J, you can only get the sand, and it is 6* away from the A (50*) wedge. So, I just ordered the US versions of the sand (54*) and lob (58*) which will have a bit more offset relative to the rest of the set. I’m hoping the difference will be insignificant.

The numbers will transfer. No problem with that. The only real significance, besides the reduced offset, is the stronger lofts on the J irons. You will probably want to get the A wedge (50*) to gap between the pitching wedge @46* and whatever you use as a sand. Currently, I use an eye2+ sand wedge @54* and a Callaway X Tour 60*. I'm probably going to order the US sand and lob Raptures at 54* and 58* and give them a go. The increased offset shouldn't be disconcerting in the wedges.

Yes. Several, actually. The first is the tungsten toe weight on the Rapture. No one else in golf is doing that, and it makes a huge difference in forgiveness. Second is the rather "trick" sole employed on the Rapture. It is fairly wide, to give a low and deep center of gravity, but it is also "relieved" towards the back, so only a portion of the sole ever comes in contact with the ground. This makes the club much more playable from a variety of lies and surfaces. Third is the appearance at address. It looks much more like a "players" club than the BBs. Fourth is the fact that the Ti face inserts soften impact, considerably. Fifth is the fact that the Ti faces are milled, so the grooves are perfectly formed and sharp. Sixth is the fact that you can get any lie angle you need, whereas Callaway can do +- only 2 degrees... I play white dot (3* up) and no one else can do that without the club owner taking the risk of breakage.

All custom options are available. You will need to PM with Chris to get the deatils ironed (no Pun intended) out. I'm thinking very seriously about getting a second set as a backup. I really believe they are the best design on the market for ULTIMATE forgiveness in a reasonably sized head. You will love them. Cameron

I have a TM SQ 10.5* made by the Custom Van (not tour van). Unfortunately, they did a poor job of fitting me and gave me a club that I hit WAY too high. I really need an 8.5* in the SQ, but I'd consider a 9.5*. Also looking for any other low launch, low spin combination. Club is in like new condition, with head cover unused. I'm pretty sure the soles are the same. They are working out just great. That tungsten weight on the toe really makes the club incredibly forgiving. And there is no other club on the market with that much weight that far off toward the toe and yet back from the face. Also, the Ti face gives the club a softer feel than you usually get with stainless steel heads. I love them, big time. So much so that I'm going to sell both my MR-23 CB sets and my Hogan Edge Pros. I may get another Endo forged club, but it will have a head approximately the size as my Raptures. I'm getting some Aldila (Tour Van) Prototype shafts installed in a couple of days. We shall see how I handle these tour shafts. In any event, these will be the coolest irons in town.

Your 3 wood is standard. Sometimes you see 44" as in the Callaway X-hot. Hybrids are all over the map. I personally prefer them to be relatively close to the iron they replace. Your wedges are mixed up, in weight and length, obviously. Very few wedges go under 35 inches. I'd weight everything from the Lob as heaviest at D-4 to D-6. Progress to D-2 to D-1 from the 9 to the 3 iron. D2 is pretty good for all the woods. Keep your grips all the same. Hope this helps.

I suspect your grinds are better than your pictures show... but from what I see, I like it too. What are you doing to make up the weight? I've done a bit of grinding myself. All hand file and sandpaper work.

I think I recall Chris mentioning to me that the JPX E500s should only be bent 2 degrees (or, maybe he said Mizuno would only bend them that much). In any event, my concern would be opening a gap at the tungsten insert on the heel. Make sure the guy who bends them knows what he is doing and has a top quality bending vise. Soft shafts will cause the toe to dip down and come in a bit. That can cause a toe hit, and may necessitate a more upright lie. Perhaps it is best to try a stiffer shaft. But go have someone test you with a lie board.
