  1. I'm surprised by these comments, I freaking love my 2015 RMX Tour model irons and the fit and finish is perfect. I want the new wedges badly but no 60 or 54 degree is killing me...BB
  2. I have no problems with driver consistency but I still choose my 4 wood and hybrid off the tee quite a bit. Unless you can't generate much distance most low handicap golfers I know will use the correct club for the hole and not simply reach for the driver. It's amazing how many more fairways you will find, sometimes we forget it's a game! BB
  3. Those are all sharp!! Well done boys
  4. How are those Vice balls anyway??? Those and Snell are very intriguing to me...BB
  5. Thanks MP for the kind words! I'm really excited to game these need to pull the grips build them up a bit and replace before my league match tomorrow. Like I mentioned I will snap a few pics and post vs my Bridgestone's which I also like very much. It's a good marriage, I will game the MB's when my game is exceptionally sharp and the CB's for tightening things back up or a simple change of pace. BB
  6. So the box shows up today, Wow! How's that for fast, I tear into it clean things up and promptly swing weight the entire set. I mean Yamaha's quality just never gets old, the fit/finish is second to NONE and each iron swing weight was literally within two or three GRAMS of each other just spot on! Must say that's very impressive, well done Yammie, for my money passion is in the details and these irons are worth every single penny! BB
  7. A while back when it was rare to find taper tips my club tech built a pretty cool jig that reminded me of a large pencil sharpener it worked PERFECT. Now however be very careful back then the tips where just about solid graphite so no serious structural damage was done now however the technology has vastly improved and the walls are much thinner or muti-material could easily damage the integrity of the shaft. BB
  8. Great posts fellas and I agree it's indeed all of these factors makes the process fun but time consuming and costly! I've probably driven more than one club tech nuts in my day trust me. When you find the right setup however KEEP IT you will regret any impulse decisions to sell, it's easy to forget how much labor goes into a GREAT well fit set of graphite shafted irons...BB
  9. Thanks for the feedback guys, I will absolutely take some pictures and compare them to my Bridgestone J15 MB's should give a nice feel for size. I'm so glad JDM is beginning to offer Modus as a stock option, I'm having a love affair with the 120's so smooth and feel great. I'm not a fan of S200's but offering the Nippon's really makes the decision easy, nice too that's what's in my Bridgies.
  10. Shafts are very personal experience and do not under estimate the role iron heads play in this marriage. I've hated certain shafts in one set and fell in love with the exact same model maybe another weight/flex in different iron all together. Then there's all the factors represented in a fitting, it goes on and on. This is why you see amazing and perfect equipment in the BST, one mans failed experiment is another mans treasure! BB
  11. Ok so I'm a hybrid equipment kinda guy, my bag is usually an eclectic mix of US retail and JSpec swag. Having said that I've always been partial to Titleist here in the States and in my twisted mind their Japanese twin Yamaha. It's been a few years since I gamed a Tour Model so I broke down tonight and sent Chris the green light to dial up this years CB's. This may have been discussed a million times already so I apologize but being excited I gotta ask who's gamed/gaming these and how are they treating you?? It's funny, here in the States most golfers have no idea Yamaha makes golf equipment but they obviously recognize the iconic Yamaha emblem which immediately elicits respect. They ask and I always say......www.Tourspecgolf.com, go learn.....BB
  12. Wow! I've been gaming these stock irons for a month now and I will put them up against ANY MB from any market, these are gorgeous. BB
  13. I know many aren't excited about this set due to brand consolidation and expansion in the US but trust me I'm gaming these with Modus 120's and they are AMAZING, probably the best set of pure MB's I've played. It's important to note the availability here in the US for this specific iron is very limited with Reps covering large geography only being issued 2 sets each. I'm pretty sure they are leaving this MB to the purists and JSpec fans, won't see many of these floating around here in the States...BB
  14. Played my Bridgestone J15 MB's (Modus 120's) for the first time today and I was very impressed, EXCELLENT setup I can see these sticking in my bag for the entire season. Great feel with amazing shot control and turf interaction, excited for 2015 to finally begin here in the thawing Midwest. BB
  15. The quad dots!!!! What a great set of irons, totally forgot about those. That's a rare set of sticks, won't see very many floating around made specially for Ernie Els back in the day. I think the beauty of a true muscle back iron is the ultimate simplicity in design, you can dress it up here and there but the basic concept doesn't change.
  16. I just love muscle back irons, gamed those Yonex MB's for a full season shafted with now extinct Accra Hybrex iron shafts and to this day kick myself for ever selling that set, dumb! Accra really had something special when they purchased the Hybrex technology and sadly didn't do anything with it, besides poor finish quality man did those shafts flat out perform.
  17. I totally agree with your assessment the fit, finish and feel of the PRGR 900md's was incredible just too much offset for my personal liking. I've been eyeing those Srixon's I've always had good luck with there irons, seem to perform really well in my bags cover the years. Speaking of Srixon the classic Pro100's always a wonderful blade. BB
  18. I've never been a big fan of Mizuno irons but those MP4's have such a perfect shape to my eye, the redesigned short irons are a dramatic improvement in my opinion. I'm gaming the Bridgestone J15 MB's in 2015 shafted with Nippon Modus 120's and hoping for great things. All of the models you pictured are works of art, I would be interested to hear comments on the new Srixon also looks sharp! BB
  19. I'm in love with my Steelfibers, I've really wanted to try the MCI's but wasn't aware the OEM's would accommodate a special request for taper tips. Although I would never officially recommend it I've personally had zero issues sanding down older model parallel tip shafts (created a little sanding jig that looks like a large pencil sharpener) however now that the dynamics and design concepts have changed I too would worry about effecting the integrity of the shaft. Another interesting model for me will be Fuji's new Pro iron shafts, also look nice with decent weight. My folks telling me this particular shaft is being very well received on the PGA Tour, probably show up in a few bags at some point in time. As these designs continue to progress I believe there will come a point where the performance benefits will simply become to dramatic to ignore. Did I mention my terrible elbow pain has all but been eliminated due to composite shaft use, huge bonus....BB
  20. In general a wider sole depending on bounce will be conducive to softer conditions. At first glance the sole width is much narrower than my 712u 4 iron...BB
  21. Oh and one more thing, regarding the lofts.... 1.) I'm sure they can be adjusted 2.) club design dictates lofts The end result is optimized balance point from which to work, your mileage may vary....BB
  22. I love these!! I'm surprised at the amount of comments regarding the PVD sole finish I think it looks sharp, adds a little pop. We all know that shape, setup and looks play a big deal in the confidence we experience over golf shots and some of us simply feel more inspired over the design of a clean muscle back iron. This not only allows the diehard MB fans an alternative but also the aspiring enthusiast an opportunity to enjoy a design style not usually associated with added forgiveness. Since the fist day I bagged my 712u I hoped Titleist would consider a full set of hollow MB's and they finally arrived, well done Titty!! BB
