  1. I actually installed the Altus fairway wood model in my 425TP because it was a little heavier. I believe in was 82gm's. It allowed me to fiddle with swing weight/head weight a bit and tweak spin and launch as well. Just an option for the people who prefer heavy shafts in drivers. I'm not sure if this is offered however, worth checking into...
  2. I can't actually comment on the TP-7 but I firmly stand behind my feelings regarding the Altus and the Code 6; for my game both are superior to the Axis. I really like the Axis however, maybe we are threading hairs here a bit. Let's agree to disagree. How's this, I think we can all agree that these highend offerings are way to expensive.
  3. I really like the Ozik line guys. I have a FT-3 Tour shafted with the Code 6 (X) and a 425TP shafted with Altus (X) and they are both clearly superior to any shaft in the Fuji line or the Axis as well. I have the Axis/905R combo and that shaft has middle of the road feel at best. Playing charaterisitcs are nice however; but to say that shaft is superior to any of the Ozik line is crazy talk. Not as long either and I recently played and tested all of the above. I have not however played any of the Axiv line. Seems to be a fan favorite.
  4. Hey Chris, that's a cool idea; tool & die shops??
  5. I might, just purchased a set of Tourstage MR-23 US Specs with X-flex. I guess they are mint and 1/2 long which is good. I will let you know once I recieve them.
  6. Miura's CB 201's are still the best irons ever producted in my mind. You are doing yourself an injustice it you don't give them a run. They match up perfectly with True Temper Tour Concepts. Deadly staight, minimal offset and have the most durable matte finish currently available in a forged iron. Trust me on this one!
  7. Chris, What is the deal with the scorelines? Do they effect spin, ballflight, etc.? I really want to consider an X-Drive 435 but do not want to negatively impact flight/spin dynamics.
  8. I play both sets, 1150's in my 37's and TC's in my Miura's and I gotta tell ya the TC's are superior for my game. Much longer and very very good feel. Taking nothing away from the 1150's because they are a quality shaft as well, just seem a bit light to me. I am going to painfully reshaft my custom Mizuno's with TC's so if anyone wants a perfect set of 1150 pulls (stiff flex) shoot me a PM and I would be happy to hook you up.
  9. The big question is why do you want to decrease swing weight? In my opinion it is harder to control the club with reduced swing weight. A D0 driver will feel very light. Most people find it very hard to be accurate at reduced swing weights, that's why most low handicap players lean towards heavy swing weights to increase your ability to feel and create tempo. Just a thought...
  10. The Iron Factory should be up and running soon. They do a nice job of refinishing iron heads in my opinion. If you get the tour chrome it shouldn't mess with the swing weights that much at all. I would have one of the good club guys (Chip Usher or Paul Manco) reshaft them with Tour Concepts. I just built a set of Miura Combo's and love them with the TC S3's in D3 swing weight very much. Awesome shafts!
  11. Most of the time I find that a slice is happening because of poor alignment. Do the club check thing but make sure you pigeon toe your feet inward prior to placing the club at the tips of your toes. This will definitely show you your target swing path. What you will usually find is that a slicer is actually aligned way to far to the right. Your minds eye will see the actual target line and cause the cross or cast. Have a Pro review your hand position and do the alignment drill and the slice will go away pretty fast! The best players like to set up just inside the target to the left even if they play a draw. Every single round that I remember to align myself to the left side of the flag my ball stricking improves because of good square impact. I hope that helps...
  12. Great lines and attention to detail. I need to find space for PRGR one of these days. The T3 Black driver looks pure as well. I want an import demo day damn it!
  13. I'm thinking about making the plunge and purchasing a Tourstage X-Drive 435 (10.5) and would like to consider these GD shaft options. Does anyone know the CPM's of any of these in stiff flex? If anyone is playing this model feedback would be greatly appreciated. As a footnote, I'm leaning towards the I-65 Type 2 because the specs would indicate a higher initial launch angle (low kick), is this correct? I get the feeling based on the reviews of this driver it plays very true to "actual" loft, or in other terms low ball flight. Would this be a good observation. Other shaft considerations welcome as well...
  14. May I ask what the ball flight is like wih this weapon?
  15. At 5.2 you are in a medium stiff with the rifles. I recommend the 1150's in stiff flex. They will feel a bit lighter but play maybe a hair stiffer than your rifles. I bet the cpm's would be pretty close however.
  16. TSG, Chris brought it my attention that I had the word "Jap" in my signature. At the time I was creating it I was thinking of abbreviations "Japanese tour chrome" to shorten the text and did not realize my error. No malice was intended and I apologize if I offended anyone.
  17. Personally I don't get it!
  18. I'm looking to purchase a new or lightly used 34' Circa 62 #3. I would consider trade for a never used 34' 2005 Scotty Studio Newport. I removed the 05' shaft band and replace it with 04' band because I hate the look of the new "sales tag" style sticker. The red 04' looks much better. If interested in trade plus cash if necessary I would include a brand new blue anodized divot tool with stock headcover to spice the look up a bit. Please e-mail offers to [email protected], thanks
  19. Thanks Chris, put me on the list and let me know when they become available.
  20. I've never claimed to be the sharpest tack in the pack but what doe's "SUS" mean? Do you have any idea what the other two colors look like? In my opinion black still looks the best.
