  1. The Aerotech Steel Fiber 75 is a very good choice for this head.
  2. I picked up a Super SS Pro fairway wood just before Christmas. I need to have it bent flatter and more open. Who can do this? Steve
  3. After I picked up my Scratch sandwedge I: 1)checked the specifications 2)practiced chipping for about 3 hours 3)practiced bunker play from good conditions for about an hour 4)went to Eastmoreland with my daughter and dialed in the distances on the front nine and got used to how the club looks from a variety of lies 5)went to Tri-Mountain and practiced bunker shots from every bad lie I could create in their chipping area 6)found a serious game the next Saturday to test the club on short course where I would hit mostly sandwedges into greens I’ve owned my Scratch sandwedge about three months. Under the condition I practice, I was not surprised at all the head came loose right after Labor Day. Nor am I surprised I am through the nickel and copper on the sole and face of the club. In fact I am very impressed because the finish is not peeling or chipping. The point I guess is I expect wear out my Scratch wedge fairly quickly and order another one. They are meant to be played. Steve
  4. For me I don't expect more types of shots. What a custom fit sandwedge does for me is allow me to hit the same shots from a larger number of lies. Steve
  5. On the back of the club is loft 57 degrees, my initials, and the model of head Scratch coiped the club from. In my case I like a midsize head like the 1997 Hogan GCD Forged Tour. I gave Ari a sandwedge head to copy the blade width an toe shape. I requested standard length, a Dynalite shaft, a ribbed grip, a nickel finish, toe shape noted above and a blade width to match a mid size head. Ari fit everything else on a day when I was in Eugene, Oregon. I hope to repay Ari with a win soon. Steve
  6. I have been happy with a Dynalite set at 43 lbs on a flexmaster. Trajectory has been excellent. Feel on half shots has very good. I will not change the shaft in my 57 even though I'm now using FCM precision shafts in my irons. The Dynalite shaft is just enough lighter to give a sandwedge excelent balance. Ari did a great job building a wedge that fits my swing
  7. I will post pictures of course but wanted start the thread with some comments. Ari’s fitting was executed beautifully. I expected a club that would allow me hit shots under tournament conditions well. I got a club that rivals the looks of reground Wilson Staff sandwedges used by Greg Norman and Tom Watson in the eighties and early nineties. :smile2: Steve
  8. Von's golf in Seattle Washington has a 365 gram head anser style putter. The link is http://www.vonsgolf.com/putters/standard.htm Steve
  9. All I need is warning. Didn't Golf Digest have a vacation article on Bandon last month? At the bottom of my list of good flying ideas is trip from Portland or Hillsboro (private planes) to North Bend. So my advice would be to drive and maybe play Sand Pines in Florence? :)
  10. The R360 Ti is a nonconforming high coefficient driver. The R360 Tour on Ebay is a driver that has not been tested and placed on the nonconforming list yet. It has a head shape slightly different from the 300’s The Ebay seller has pulled the listing twice fishing for a buyer who will pay big money for this club. I am watching for one and will send it for testing of if I get my hands on one. I have no doubt it will be ruled nonconforming. I don’t like people deliberately playing with rules. Remember everyman’s holy grail is different. Mine is strictly accuracy and a stable trajectory in cross winds.
  11. If Briny Baird was using a R360 tour driver it would have been tested. The USGA lists the following Taylor Made drivers as nonconforming as of February 23, 2004: R300, R320, R360, R300 tour as pictured, R320 tour. It isn’t much of a leap to add the R360 tour to this list since it has the same face design as the others. I doubt Taylor Made would have any head in the hands of tour players they didn’t know was legal. Showing up to a tour event is essentially permission to test any piece of equipment you play. I just listed five nonconforming Taylor Made drivers of one series. The list of nonconforming Taylor Made drivers is much longer. This discussion seems to pop up every now and then. This is the third time I’ve responded to a discussion about this club. My original response “I’d be very careful where I played this club” still stands.
  12. I doubt it. Has it been declared nonconforming yet? No. Will it at the first opportunity? Yes. :( My opinion is any TM driver without scoring lines in the sweetspot is nonconforming. Sorry
