  1. Why not the 501s all the way for an integrated set? That is more similar to the MP-52 in terms of forgiveness with the notch -- and the 501s are pure cb's from 7-PW.
  2. 45, 50, 56, 60 The PW is a full swing club as is the 50. I use the 60 for most shots around the green, low or high, when I have a tight spot as the target. The 56 is used when I want to make sure I keep it low or want some roll out. Basically, the 56 and 60 are my 2 options around the greens.
  3. The 1150 just has a stiffer tip - I also think it has more energy. I don't have a high ss, my preferred flex is somewhere between a Rifle 5.5 and S300. You won't have a problem with the 1150 Stiff. I have a Miura Gap Wedge in an 1150 Stiff. One of my favorite clubs and have now ordered clubs with the 1150 stiff. I think it plays between a 5.5 and 5.7 on a Rifle Scale. So it may be a tad softer than what you're accustomed to (the S300).
  4. For all Avix users and interested parties, if you are on the cusp of a 6564 or 6568 (closer to 46 than 43 (45.7)) in speed on the Avix selector tool, is it better just to get the 6568 and not tip it or do the 6564 and tip?
  5. Godzilla looks a little meek - could you place the pupil of his eye more towards the front of the face to make him look more ferocious. He looks like a sleepy Godzilla.
  6. Thanks - it was 252 cpm before my current increase in speed. I'll discuss it with my clubmaker beforehand. Appreciate it.
  7. Thanks, Ari. At what point would you try tipping the 6564 in a 9.5 SQ -- After some speed training and working on the ole flexibility, the SS Radar showed my SS to be consistently in the 101-102 range, going up to 105 with tempo at 1.25-1.3. I'm also interested in that Stulz - so gear it up, please, we need some reviews here (lol).
  8. Thanks - from the posts, it seems the Axiv play a tad weaker. Having a 9.5 in an SQ, I wonder how the Axiv will do in the M launching shaft. I know Ari liked the dispersion but was wondering if it is still holding up. I was also wondering how it would compare to the 60g Rombax - since the Rombax is supposed to be stable for the bigger heads. Thanks for keeping up with this thread!
  9. I looked at mine (again) last night at the range because of this question - it does not appear closed to me at all - now the tumor on the back may give you some help closing -- but this club wants to go straight so much or fade, that I'd have to say it's square. After reviewing a lot of discussion, industry people do say that the bigger headed drivers sometimes appear a tad closed - but they are not. I'd say square - it sure doesn't act closed. And my swing is constantly checked every couple of weeks by an instructor (swing overhaul).
  10. Before I pull the trigger, I want to ask how these shafts play in the larger heads (is there a certain weight I should look for) and whether they play slightly weaker in flex. I did the selection choice and it says 6564M. I selected M based on the feedback that the L is very low kick (produces a fairly high flight) My SS is 97-101 in an SQ Max Stiff and 1.3 second tempo (if that makes sense).
  11. I've seen pics here and elsewhere -- not impressed. Very angular and blocky design. Bett does a nice milling job but he doesn't have a Scotty touch when it comes to revamping old designs.
  12. U. S. Rombax, according to Chip Usher, will be out next month. But it seems the Axiv is getting the better reviews here.
  13. 58.12 seems like a heckuva lot of bounce already - opening up usually adds to the bounce. So does laying it open with that unique sole keep the leading edge on the ground or add to the bounce?
  14. That is lovely - any specs on a 56? Looking for a versatile SW.
  15. Chip Usher 912-695-9420 Savannah, GA For value and selection
  16. Also, how thick is the topline? And does the sole get thinner as the irons go shorter?
  17. Can you talk more about the condition and the length and lie? Are the shafts straight stiffs or hardstepped? Thanks.
  18. The MX-23s are also forged -- they feel very good.
  19. I have a 553 in a Mizu and a MW54 in a AGT Aurora I think the 553 is more of a hitter's shaft - I have my stiff tipped for a firm and it is great but I think The Zcom feels smoother and gets the ball up a bit more - which I like. It is a silky shaft -- just make sure you have someone that knows what they are doing as the US Zcom has a longer parallel tip section.
  20. Well, I dont know about that -- the Ignite 460cc seems popular and they've attempted to copy the Titleist shape in a big headed driver. Look, some people just want a Titleist, not a Cobra. So no matter how much marketing Acushnet does for Cobra to pump up sales, the Tity buyer won't go Cobra (I can't go Cobra because of the head top and funky logo) -- so Tity, if they want to sell drivers. better get off their collective butt and design a 460cc quickly OR risk losing more market share. I predict the 905 will be a bust -- good initial sales -- but it won't sell like the 983 to the masses -- I bought a 983 but won't be buying a 905 -- too many better options. And the 905 is not exactly taking the tour by storm. I bet those guys in R&D are going at it hard to find something bigger -- either go Big or Die - Tity chose the latter this time.
  21. Interesting. That's the first negative I've heard on this new ball from several forums. But then, I like the Rev Tour -- long and good spin. Just needed a bit less spin off the driver and irons. I've heard this is what the BlackMAX does. Will still try them.
  22. For 43" 3 wood to get a D3 swing weight, I need 220 grams head...Does this tell you something? And I said "MOSTLY". TW84 X flex tipped 1/2" for a 4 wood at 42.5 and I got a reading 7.0 FCM on my machine, That tells me hell of a BUTT stiff shaft. That means they beef it up around the butt area. MW54 is hell of a light weight shaft and It needs hell of a heavy head to get D3 @45" driver, if I'm not wrong +/- 208 grams. This shaft reads a lot softer on the cpm machine but it doesn't play quite as soft. I'm not trying to out spoken Chad ( that is the last think I want to do ) but I installed shaft everyday and I got this shaft before they are. I'm behind the work bench and he is behind the office desk. Joe  FWIW, I heard from Fuji and another clubmaker was that the Zcoms were not heavy in the butt so as to be considered a true CB shaft --- just that they were not tip heavy. Hey, I just want it to play great. I'll leave the details to my clubmaker.
  23. Call one of our sponsor club builders. A combination of the proper shaft and tipping could do you wonders. You're right - must call Joey K after I go on a launch monitor to give him some info.
  24. When I get a little competition I will. As Mulder would say, "They're out there, somewhere." (lol) The question is: why do the Zcoms cost as much as Speeders? I thought Speeders cost more to manufacture due to the triax process? Do you have a general recommendation for one to go in a high launch low spinning head that is 460cc for someone who likes light shafts, is a swinger with a shallow attack, and 95-100mph SS? in a driver and in a FW? Also, can you obtain some Nippon SuperPeening Wedge Shafts?
  25. You might want to lower those Zcom prices and don't judge them by BSG -- the Zcoms are shipping in the US and they seem to be going for about $250 installed - spine and flo - unless one gets a "sweetheart" (frequent customer) deal I guess the lower value of the dollar really does send the price up (thanks, Mr. Prez).
