  1. I have recently aquired a set of Hiro Matsumoto irons and need to change the shafts out. Does anyone have any idea what the hosel I.D. is? I pulled the shaft on the PW last night and test fit a DGX100 .355taper tip. It seemed pretty loose, I checked the shaft on another clubhead that I know is .355t and it fit nice and snug. I had the same issue with some nike forged blades not too long ago also (I tried NIKE customer service; complete waste of time) Any help would be very much appreciated. Tommy
  2. Thank's once again! I will go ahead and add the black gold's to the order. Blader-x, do you have the BG's in your iron's as well? If so, have you been equally happy with them? I just happen to have a set of Hiro Matsumoto's on the way and will be looking for some x-stiff shafts to put in them. If anyone has a favorite shaft for that brand, please let me know. Tommy
  3. Thanks for the replies! I will go ahead and give them both a shot. I initially scoffed at the idea of the X100's, but gave them a shot anyway. So far, I have increased consistency/accuracy and gained about 8-9 yards with every iron. I remember reading some post's, stating PX cpm inconsistencies i.e; shaft playing more stiff than the flex suggested. When ordering the PX, should I order say the 5.5 as opposed to 6.0? 6.0 instead of 6.5? I do hit mainly full shots with my 54* and delicate shots with the 60*, so maybe the 60* could be tipped soft etc. One more question for tourspecgolfer though. Currently playing and loving my 905S: 9.5* @ 44" long, D2-3SW coupled with a Fujikura 757 tourspec X-flex(7.2 on rifle scale), but it is getting worn out. Have a few suggestions? From the TSG Pro Shop? Thanks again, Tommy
  4. Hello, I am hoping that somebody might be able to point me in the right direction. I have been playing with 2 SCRATCH custom wedges for about a year and a half. I ordered them from Ari with NS Pro 1050 shafts. After some experimenting with my other irons and the advice of an expert clubmaker, I swithched everything to DGX100's. 2 main reason's: the heavier shaft weight and the reduced spin. My iron game has never been better, since the shaft switch (the irons are MIZUNO MP-11's)and I have retained the soft but crisp feel of my Mizuno's. The problem I have with the wedges, is the lack of feel; full shots and around the green. With the NS Pro 1050's these thing's were SUPER SOFT, but I was hitting them way too high and they had load's of spin. The clubmaker suggested PX's, stating they would have better feel with the reduced height and spin I need, plus they would have the heavier shaft weight. I have heard that MIURA's also feel better with PX's. If anyone has had similar experience's and could offer some advice, I would really appreciate some suggestions. Thanks, Tommy
  5. Thanks for the reply. I will keep my eye out for some.
  6. Has anyone played these? Anyone know who forges Srixon irons? They look similar to MP-33's (at least in the photo's) Any and all thoughts or reviews would be much appreciated. Thanks, Tommy
  7. The good days are what keeps us coming back! and sometimes from going completely insane, playing this wonderful game :tsg_smilie_confused: I still keep wandering ebay aimlessly, looking for a decent set of 11's, but nothing so far. I might just break down, buy a set in any condition and have them refinished :tsg_smilie_money3:
  8. Played MP-11's until I wore a hole in the face, tried CB's...hated all of them. I could not get over the "chunky" top line. Played 681's for a while....not too bad. Ruptured a disc in my back and couldn't play for 2.5 years and I felt that I had to change to the CB....2005 was terrible for the scoring average. I decided of course that it was the "bow and not the archer" and switched back to my beloved Mizuno's (MP-37's) and got closer to my pre-injury HCP...Great! Then I read Tom Wishon's book that Chris referenced and it made total sense. That eventually led me to the MIURA CB-1005....AWESOME!!. Granted I am experimenting with the shaft, to lower ball flight, but that is defenitely not the club's fault. The 1005's are IMHO just as good looking at address, if not better than any blade I have seen. I don't have any experience with the 1006's, but I would assume they are real similar. By the way if anybody has any recommendations for shaft's that would lower ball flight, let me know please.
  9. Thanks for the reply & the advice. I'll stick with what I have for now, and save up for EPON's this fall/winter :tsg_smilie_money3: From what I have read so far, can I expect the EPON to "feel a little softer" than the MIURA? I definetely noticed the difference in the "type of feel" between MIZUNO & MIURA. Thanks again
  10. Have a friend who was on the Yonex Long Drive/Trick Shot Team. Needless to say he has a lot of sets of Yonex. He is always trying to talk me into buying a set. Any word (good or bad) on Yonex irons? Forged in Japan? I have hit some of them and they feel pretty good. I am not big on graphite shafts in my irons, so if they don't have them and I buy they would get steel in some form or another. I noticed on a previous reply from Chris, that the Miura's are Japan and Taiwan. Any difference in quality? I have a couple of the US MIURA wedges and I now have a set of "previously struck" MG 1005's from "e-ho", I mean "ebay" and the MG's feel like a different club. Could be the CB vs. B. :tsg_smilie_wah: I don't know! If anyone has any input I would really appreciate it. P.S. Chris, I suppose if I wanted a set of Type-J's I could order them +1/2" & +2 deg.? Do they offer a 2I? Thanks
  11. Any one using or have used a Miura Putter? I am in the market for a new flat stick. Just purchased a Miura 56deg. SW and love it. The club maker I bought it from is going to order the rest of the wedge set for me and if I want the putter he will put all in the same order. Played Mizuno my entire golfing life, but have no experience with the Japanese clubs other than Mizuno and now the Miura. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, teb92
