  1. Ping G2 HL 3-iron with cs lite stiff / tour velvet. Brown dot - c'mon all you short guys out there! Mint - hit maybe 10 balls. $65 shipped
  2. Needle-in-the-haystack time. Looking for a set of CS lite stiffs to install in a set of S59's (3-pw). New is great but will consider pulls. Can trade for the DG S400's currently in the clubs (too heavy for me). Help, somebody! :wah:
  3. If you really are "going left" then you won't beat the L-FE. Beautiful head shape, solid feel, and internally weighted to discourage a hook. Right at 350cc. I try every new club and keep coming back to this one.
  4. Can you get your hands on whatever Ignite head Cink and Steven Ames were using at the Open? I saw them up close and they bear NO resemblance to the store model Ignite.
  5. Looking for a needle in a haystack - a 983K 10.5* authentic tour head. Anybody? Will also consider a 9.5*.
  6. I am selling a Tourstage 390 X-Drive Pro Spec (9*) driver. Shaft is a Harrison Pro 2.5 Titanium 60 (s). This club is in MINT condition - almost no sole or face marks and the crown is perfect. Comes with original Tourstage "leather" headcover (zipper) AND a NEW fairly rare Tourstage white & black fuzzy from Japan. I love this club but at this stage of my life (53) it is just too much club for me. $320 shipped Trades, anyone? 983K tour head? Ignite 410? (both at least 9.5*) Will throw in GD YS6 (S) and YS7 (X) pull-outs (both 45") Tourstage lovers, please don't make me put this on ebay!!!!! :wah:
  7. Looking to sell or trade a MINT 9* Tourstage 390 X-Drive Pro Spec head. Selling it for $350 / OBO. Trade only for 983K tour head 9.5* or 10.5*. Send PM. John
  8. Selling a Super CV BBD 14* 3-wood with Apache MFS 40+ shaft (stiff) and tour velvet. 43". Condition is easily 9/10. Selling a TRC utility club. Loft is 22*, shaft (stiff) & grip are standard Sonartec issue. This club is in pristine condition. Headcover included. Make me a reasonable offer on one or both!!!
  9. Looking to trade my Sonartec TRC 22* for a 20*. Has stock shaft (stiff). Mint condition. Just hit it a little too high. Anyone?
  10. That gives me a good point of reference. Thanks, Ken!!
  11. Can anybody tell me about the playing characteristics of the Pros 3? I don't think they make it anymore but I may have a chance to get a new one (stiff) from another source. I hear the tip is weak which, I guess, is good for a low ball hitter like myself. Other than that I know nothing about it. I was thinking of putting it in a TS 390. I currently play a 10.5* LFE with a Purple Ice (s), so I thought the extra kick might suit a 9* driver like the 390. Should I have it tipped? I have a fairly quick tempo and average around 250 of the tee. Also, I can hook it with the best of them. Any thoughts greatly appreciated. :)
  12. Everywhere I look, this model is billed a great fairway wood shaft. Anybody out there play one in their 3-wood? If so, what are your opinions? What are its playing characteristics? I'm thinking of having one installed (sx flex?) in my sonartec. :?: :?: :?:
  13. True, Norman made mistakes all day but, still, leading by 5 with 4 to go in a major is the all time gag. Plus, Arnie gagged again the next day - he led the playoff after 9 holes!!!! All he had to do was hit 1-iron off 16 on Sunday and he probably would have won, but NO, the Great Man had to hit the big stick. Serves him right!
  14. Looking for a new Fuji 652 in "S" flex. Anybody selling one I won't need a second (third?) mortgage for? Let me know. JohnnyPro
  15. Guys I'm looking for a set of CS lites (preferably) or ZZ65's for my son's S59 irons (3-pw). I got him the set on ebay and he loves them but they came with DG S400's. He's 17 and kind of slight build so I think those S400's are a little too much for him. Anyone know where I can get a new set of CS lites or ZZ65's? I'd also consider a pulled set. Stiff flex only, by the way. Thanks as always, Johnnypro
  16. Just missed bruinduke's 390, so I'm still searching. Looking for a TS 390 X-Drive (Pro Spec only). Shafted or head alone OK. His sold for $450 and that's about where I'm willing to go. Will also consider nicely conditioned 350 pro spec. Like to close a deal by end of next week as I may be out of the country for a while. Somebody, anybody?!?!
  17. Sorry, but worst collapse in a major was not Norman to Faldo in '96 Masters. That was awful but it still doesn't equal "The King" at Olympic in '66. Good old Arnie led by 7 with nine to go; with 4 to go he was still up by five!!!!!!!! Even the Heimlich Maneuver couldn't have saved him. Seve over-rated? No way. Best short game I've ever seen (though he needed it much of the time).
  18. Gotta disagree with this one. Seve single-handedly made the Euro Tour and the Ryder Cup what they are today. He was the best player in the world for several years in the '80's. No one was more exciting to watch plus he won 5 majors. Nobody out there ever speaks of him in the same breath as Palmer - which is why Arnie was way over-rated and Seve isn't.
  19. ALL-TIME: Don't excommunicate me but I gotta side with Primo - Palmer was way over-rated. Only won the Open once and Hogan and Nicklaus handed it to him (and lost 3 Open playoffs). Did not win a major after the '64 Masters. Never won the PGA. Plus his swing sucked. IMHO he was done after the choke of all chokes in the '66 Open at Olympic - never the same after that. Nicklaus could beat him anytime he wanted to. Plus, all that hob-nobbing with Eisenhower and Bob Hope got stale real fast. I believe Venturi - I read the same account years ago from one of the caddies. CURRENT: Probably Couples or DLIII - one stinkin' major each. And Couples' Masters was helped by an Act of God.
  20. I have a fairly rare 10.5* tour issue 983E (sits dead square, no serial numbers, heavy head). It came off the Nationwide Tour and is in beautiful condition with very slight sole and face brush marks; the crown is pristine. Shafted at 45" with Aldila NV75 (stiff) with Tour Velvet round grip. All shaft & grip graphics turned down. Headcover is included. I need to sell/trade it because, at my age (53!!), this is frankly too much club for me. I only want to recoup what I have invested in it which is $450 but I will consider all reasonable offers. I will also consider trading for a Tourstage 350 or 325 X-Drive or, less enthusiastically, a Nakashima 380. Will trade and add $ for a 390 X-Drive or, God willing, a 9.5* J340. Head only is OK but all X-Drives must be "Pro Spec" (USGA conforming). Send PM or email to [email protected]. PRICE DROPPED TO $400 (C'mon, somebody!!)
  21. Looking to buy Ping M/B wedges. Need a 56* and, less so, a 60*. Would consider a 54* as well. Red or orange only. Preferably with CS lites. Matching s/n's would be great. Reasonable, please. Any help out there?
  22. That's a great start. Thanks for the advice!
  23. I could use some advice. I just picked up a 10.5* tour-issue 983E head and I'm wondering what shaft I might eventually install. Not sure what my swing speed is but I normally drive it in the 250 - 260 range with a draw and NOT very high. Fast tempo. Always play a Pro V1. I'm 53 years young. Any thoughts? Thanks!
  24. Looking for a good+ condition 983E with 10.5* loft. Head only OK.
  25. My 17 year old son fell in love with the S59's. I picked him up a mint set with DG S400's. He's OK with them but I feel the shafts are just too heavy for him. He's 5'9", about 145 and average build. Can any of you guys recommend a good, lighter weight steel shaft? Should I pick up cs lites (which I have in my Pings and love) from Ping? Any suggestions welcome, as always! :)
