Might have to settle for this since I can't afford imports.

Teana (domestic assembly) = US30000. Comes with "color rear camera" for backing up.

Imports ... About 70-80% more than US pricing.

Mazda RX-8 = US52000

Lexus RX330=US70000

Benz SLK200=US78000

Other domestics that's not bad are:

Ford Metrostar A+ US24000

Toyota Wish US26500

A color camera for backing up? why does that seem weird to me, doesn't turning your head around work as well and cheaper? hmmm..gadgets and gizmos

well, considering the premiums we pay in automobiles (in Asian countries), there better be some neat stuff to compensate.

Only bigger cars like Camry, Teana, and some SUVs and minivans have rear-vision function. The older cars have rear-radar systems. Anyway, when backing up, your NAV screen shows 2 meters of the rear. At night, it is still very clear. It is quite useful in Asia as we don't enjoy big parking lots with big parking spaces like the US and Canada. Furthermore, Taiwan has more damn scooters on the road than any country. It's like Key West spring break every day.

Speaking of different standard features between NA and Asian version cars, the Toyota Corolla Altis Taiwan version has a mini-computer like the BMW 3 series that tells fuel economy and km left in the tank. Also have wood trim and NAV.

where in TAiwan do you live and what takes you there? I am moving there with my new job in the new year. I have a bunch of questions like" should I wait til I get to Taiwan to get my clubs?" and "Where to get a decent game withoout paying through the nose?"

Drop me a line at [email protected] if you get a sec.
