putter sold at 34" but it's clearly longer (maybe 35").

My question involves the impact of shortening the shaft by an inch. Does it affect the stroke, weight, swingweight, etc. in any way other than the physical aspect of the shaft being 1 inch shorter? Does a clubfitter do anything to address that?

Is a stock 34" putter by any major brand different than a stock 35" and if so how (other than the physical length of the shaft)? In other words, is cutting a 35" putter resulting in the same putter as buying the same model at 34"? I guess that's my basic question.

Thank you so much all!
