+TourSpecGolfer
We are starting to see more fake JDM golf clubs on the market. It's fun to scoff at and make fun of but people are getting ripped off. The Hiro's are hard to tell but the rest is just plain obvious. EdGolf
Maybe some tips for us to recognize the fakes C? They seem real to me which is scary lol. I'm playing the Yururi flat back and honestly can't tell from the picture where it's fake? Also that's the reason i ONLY buy from reputable resellers for golfers like myself that don't know how to tell the difference.
bruinduke
Along those lines would the Epon driver experts know if there was ever an Epon 420 Technica driver? I've seen the 360, 380 Technicas and the 415 and 460 zr, but couldn't find any comments on a Technica 420?
gbs
woww the hiros i must say its very good. As for the yururis if i don't look hard enough i might be fooled.

Spoon
They all look fake with the exception of the hiro. The fourteen looks good too. Yururi too smooth. Scary! And their faking epons too? Wow
Goodsie
Fake Clubs come through my Shop more often now than ever before. This "counterfeit aspect" of Internet Golf sales really make me angry. Fake Graphite Shafts are even more prevalent now that the Exotic Shaft prices have gotten up in the $300 to $800 range. The money to be made only draws the "evil doer's" when the Shaft you are getting might cost the bad guy $8 to $20..........Also, beware of the Fake Iron Shafts, too. All they have to do is print those cute little Shaft labels and sell a blow out set of cow patties. Never buy on the Internet after a six pack of beer or two glasses of wine or whatever.... wmclarenf1
Wow, I didn;t think any of these brands were mass market enough to command fakes.

ant
rc woods might be their international models, some of them look quite a bit different to their jdm lineup. plenty of fake shafts out there too, there was a thread on wrx while back with some pictures and it was pretty much impossible to tell them fakes from pictures alone unless you are very familiar with how particular shaft looks exactly and can spot subtle differences in paint and stickers. i'm not positive but i believe i've spotted a few fake rc fairway woods on ebay. is there also a problem with fake shafts? ant
i havent hit any of their international models personally so cant compare but iirc TourSpecGolfer mentioned they were somewhat watered down versions of jdm models and there was even some internal disagrement or something at rc about that direction. interesting. are there any differences besides aesthetics between rc's jdm and international models? +TourSpecGolfer
Yes I know RC Japan staff that quit because they thought the U.S JP models were "empty" in their words. There are a lot of RC unauthorized clubs out there. I have people email me trying to sell me tour issue TM heads and RC utility woods weekly. The RC woods are from the actual factory they are just rejects or stolen from the factory. I wouldn't trust. Stick with TSG we never buy or sell anything in question and we always know our stuff. wmclarenf1
Unfortunately, I've seen a Ryoma D1 special tuning (I think) off a chinese website. I guess it was a matter of time. Edited May 16, 2012 by wmclarenf1
