RomaRo SX Wedge

This just came in the mail today in a nice RomaRo box along with a nice RomaRo ferrule. Been looking for a specialised PW to replace the stock RomaRo H PW (not that there is anything wrong with the stock PW but just a force of habit I guess).

Looks a lot nicer in the metal and not as big or clunky as I feared from Internet pics. Top line is a tad thick however.

Took it to the fitters and put in a Shimada NW110 shaft and used a recycled Epon carbon fibre ferrule to match the rest of my wedges and irons. Plays to 35 3/8 finished length with an Iomic sticky grip, D1.5 SW and had the loft adjusted to 46 and the lie slightly more upright. I have yet to hit this but if the loft and lie adjustment is anything to go by, this should have a very soft feel. I do hope not Epon wedge soft though as I found those too soft.

Lets hope this works out.

I have found the RomaRo wedges to be a bit more clicky than their irons. Don't get me wrong, they perform excellently. Just the feel reminds me of the TS905 more than RomaRo irons.

Mine are shafted with Crazy Black Wedge shafts.

Hit the maiden ball at the range and it was ok. Important for me to hit the first shot well wih a new club. I'm funny this way.

After about 15 range rocks, I'm not hitting well today and missing the sweet spot a tad I believe but at least I am missing consistently lol.

Feel is not clicky to me. Not Epon soft as well which is a relief. It is straight and very decently accurate as you would hope and expect a PW to be and considering I ain't hitting my best, going to the pin with this new club is very muh welcomed!

Lets see how this fairs over the next few weeks on the course.

Have a couple of rounds with the SX but have not used it much though. I would say however, that it is more confidence inspiring than the stock RomaRo PW which I could hook with a bad swing. I've always has that issue with stock PWs which leads me to think it definitely a mental thing with the Indian.

Feel is softish and this is an accurate enough wedge. Holds greens very well also. Had a birdie today with a gir approach on a par 4 with the SX. Can't be too bad can it. :-)

This is a great wedge that I've gamed for a bit and it does everything its supposed to well full shots, chip & pitch. It's feel is firm for sure in a good way reminds me of the 709MC and what I noticed is its very easy to hit due to size & that it's pretty easy to get into the air.

I think the sole is designed for someone who likes to get a bit more creative with their chip shots it reminds me of the Bold in this manner. RomaRo has many good wedges out, I think they are underrated just as RomaRo is. I have hit most of their models and in every category they rival the best. Quality & Design is all there. I'm just enamored by their UT's and FW's at the moment, really really solid.

Your bag looks great Ray H is something else isn't it.

The Ray H are great which is why I am having great reservations about going ahead with the Yonex Ezone CB/MB combo. The Yonex feels better than Ray H but I am playing with with the Ray H and I'm vey reluctant to mess with that. Same reservations with the Bold. I'm really getting on well with my MT DWD wedges but I am very very curiosu with the Bold, more so than with the T.388.

Feel wise, the SX wedge feels very different to the Ray H which I find to a tad more crisp than the SX which is more dense in feel. Are they from the same forgery or different and who please? Thanks.

Had the need to use the SX more today. 4 times to be exact. I must say, this wedge can hold greens very well. It's turning out to be a rather reliable wedge.

Don;t know how to orientate the pics for posting but it shows one approach right of the pitch mark (pic with my shadow) and another left and slightly back of the pitch mark.
