I kinda liked the previous Tsubame x Orion irons.

These new ones somewhat have design resemblance of the Seven CBs.

I couldn't agree more, they're on my list of top 3 MBs:

1. Seven x Shinagawa

2. Orion Himeji x Tsubame

3. Mystery MC-10 CR

4. Yamaha RMX 018 Tourmodel

5. Epon AF-Tour MB

I’d add the Masda Fast Muscle Back in that list.

That's wise advice.. I would actually swap them in and remove the AF-Tour's.

..in addition I'll also add the Crazy CRZ Muscle as an honorable mention, or make it #6

CGS Orions are made in Himeji.

I suspect although they will not confirm this they are hand ground by Shinagawa.  I can tell by the shape.

They are a level up in fit and finish as they are polishing experts so their fit and finish is better than most Himeji brands.

I have tried their Himeji X Tsubame Blade and it is outstanding!  forgiving,  soft,  just well made and nice to look at.

The factory they used for CNC does have the original 2-D cad work from the original Seven irons.  Not saying they used it but when we left that factory to re-create it in 3-D and use full CNC there was nothing stopping them from adjusting it.

I am impressed with everything they make so far.  Pro Spec Wedge is pretty awesome.

What about forgiveness ranking for the above? :) I love the Crazy MB look but it is so damn hard to hit consistently..

That’s disappointing news. What actually you didn’t like with them.

I have the wedge which is a nice dense feel, similar to all quality wedges made in Japan. When I hit the irons, the feel is just so so - similar to most USDM irons in my opinion. The irons are also on the smaller side so forgiveness is average at best. Distance again is avg - 7 iron was 155 carry. I guess i was just expecting a lot given the look and the previous experience with the wedge. but nothing like it.

You are talking about the "closer" series correct?  I know why.  Its the raw blank they start with,  its the only one from Oichi that has a good enough shape and also it is too compact to start with.  I used the same one on the oldest Seven CB.
