  1. Dinner watch, wanted an OO but had a deal too good to pass up.
  2. These are pics from 2014, most notably from Hang Son Doong which is the world's largest cave just recently explored in 2009 but found in 1990. We were blessed to be the first group of tourists to enter the cave after NGC, NHK etc.. 7 days 6 nights in a Cave. Only 225 licenses granted for 2014/2015. This is way deep within Vietnam far from any cities, from Danang it was an 8 hour drive, then a 6 hour walk to camp 1 then we went to bed and walked another 10 hours to get to the cave, by the time we get to the cave it was already the most physically demanding thing we have done and this is after 4 months of training and preparation for it. This area outside of the cave was so rural there were still unexploded ordinance left over from the vietnam war including mines and cluster bombs. 8 travellers, 3 from USA, 2 from sweeden, 3 from Australia. It took 4 days to reach the end of the cave and 3 days to get back with multiple camps we had to setup. Almost died a dozen times. No bath in 7 days, nothing dry in a wet cave... nothing. the biggest threats include falling to your death, poisonous centipedes, foot rot and crotch rot. It took 20 porters to carry our stuff, these men are something else, 90lb sacks on each mans back, these guys weighed no more than 130lbs soaking wet, no climbing gear and wearing slippers over wet surfaces they scaled walls like nothing with a cigarette in their mouth. The very first day driving we had 2 vans, one with 10 the other with 18 porters, the porters van crashed into a giant truck and everyone got hurt, broken bones, cuts, etc.. what a way to start a journey, so the company that has exclusive rights to the adventure travel into this cave went back into town and got another 18 porters in less than 6 hours, these 18 porters made up 10 hours of walking time and caught up to us in a day. I was wondering how they get locals to do such extreme things, well for 7 days work they earn the equivalent of 30 days work, many were young men who would do this once a month and go to school. Our sacks were only 15lbs and we had all the best gear money could buy still struggling, falling, and needing help/breaks the whole way, I can't give enough praise and appreciation to our porters, the next time I think of giving up on anything, I will think of them. shooting photos and video in a cave is not easy, my canon MKIII and lenses took a beating, constantly having to clean it every few hours. the low light was a pain and as you can see the photos look grainy even after editing. I can write for days about this experience, I'll post a video here sometime in the future, these pictures can't describe what it was like, in fact I don't have pictures of the best parts of the caves because one would not want to hold a camera while climbing such sharp rocks. If you need a wild adventure, contact me and I will put you in touch with someone in Vietnam... 5 months later and my toe nails are still falling off...
  3. Got a few of these in 11* SR flex stock shaft come back to us, I gave one a whirl, I like the flight and spin especially in the wind, I don't like it's forgiveness but I love it's shape. imo TM knows how to do sexy shapes but I wish there was a bigger version with more heel and toe real estate kinda like the new Ryoma Type-R yet with the same SLDR flight and spin... oh well I guess we can't have it all. These were great sellers a month or so ago at TSG then fell flat, wondering if anyone is still playing one and their thoughts.
  4. I'm not afraid of tipping at all and while I understand the perspective of others in this thread from the angle of resale and value, I would have missed many great setups if I didn't tip. I personally like to play the softest flex possible that I can control and get good timing with. I often start soft and adjust my swing, then if that don't work I tip, for this reason I start the length a bit longer to have the room to cut while keeping a decent SW. In golf out of the box almost nothing fits because it's made for a particular demographic, but what if we are not exactly that demo? then we must tweak, test, and learn. If we just jump from shaft to shaft because we can't hit one we don't learn much about why certain things work or not for our swings.
  5. Many of the lighter shafts have a much more lively tip section because that's what that type of player seeking lighter shafts desires, stronger kick for extra distance. More recently brands are producing lighter shafts for faster swing speeds but I usually suggest going up in flex or even two depending on your own swing stats, in your case at 48 m/s the double XX TRPX Air is what I would suggest. It's a popular shaft on the long drive circuit in Japan and available in a variety of flexes including XX and XXX but it's still only 55 at it's lightest and 60 in the stiffest flex. Some customers who have purchased the air claim 15-25+ yards increase in distance from the shaft alone, in this scenario it took tipping 3/4" but ideally starting at a stiffer flex would have been the way to go. Not many options exist as far as light weight X-XX shafts go.
  6. Hi Daris, I just merged both your topics together.
  7. This putter is made by SEVEN and modified by Golds Factory. Golds modifies putters so its up to you what style putter you want to send in.
  8. Yes but Eggs are supposed to be ugly while those SYD's didn't have to be.
  9. Ahhh Yes the Limited Version! sorry I was only looking at black and gold. This is high Cor. Geotech get's these in stock July 10th to be exact so it can start shipping then. BTW MUSO FW is the real deal, Geotech is hitting it out of the park.
  10. I'm pretty sure there is no high COR FW. In black or gold they are the same just different finish. Underrated for sure, these are super easy to hit and higher MOI fairway woods. It's available now if you need one just email me [email protected]
  11. Aw crap, I'm sold! Gotta get's me a set now. Much respect to anyone who can play a blade and these back to back, I'm the same way.
  12. thanks robbie, what a nice pal you are giving him first whacks on your new toy. I'm looking forward to how it stacks against your Kamui Pro which is no easy feat for any driver.
  13. Does anyone not like these drivers? Robbie? Mpbachman? IMO both the D and the S are amongst the best available today, the metallic crunch is light and pure, head for head I'm not sure if these are longer than the Maxima but with my 47" shaft it's distance is longer than the special tune maxima which is a shocker as nothing has gotten close.
  14. They are not sold out we have 5 x 52 and 5 x 58 coming next month.
  15. 2 new wedges coming soon from Yururi. The Tataki and a TSG exclusive Gekku RAW conforming version variant with less stamping.
  16. These are growing on me big time! As Tae-san says soft and very forgiving with a setup that would make it appear not so forgiving. Fujimoto Gikoh knows how to make irons. While I can't say who else they produce the list is impressive.
  17. Are you really a single digit playing these? If so that's awesome! I've never hit them but they do not look like an iron that would feel soft as you describe, that's got me curious as I could use some extra distance in my iron game on my home course. what shaft and flex do you have in them?
  18. Yup the AW was never part of the original set for TN, it was added when customers requested it in numbers, I'm not 100% sure but I believe TN had his own AW preference at the time mizuno produced the TN-87 for him.
  19. The new Type-R driver is no slouch, This and the Modart MA01S are my gamers in rotation. I did boot the Maxima Special Tune which is longer than both imo but not nearly as straight or good feeling. Stock shaft on the Type-R in stiff, Modart with a 47" xXx Touale in Stiff! The Type-R has a nice feel, sound, and is very forgiving, one thing is that it may be half a degree closed which I personally prefer. I have a guy who has the issue of snap hook who hit both my clubs and didn't find the RomaRo any more draw biased than his current gamer the SLDR 430 in neutral position.
  20. No difference except a single club has a different lie by 1* and also the AW that is entirely new. Outside of that it's the same design. People love these because of the shape and feel.
  21. Some JDM brands have adopted adapters but yes the Japanese are indeed purists, when I asked Endo why they don't use adapters the main concern was the weight and it's effect on design. So when a brand uses an adapter that is say 5-7 grams they can't just add that weight to the neck and expect performance to not change, so they need to adjust other areas of the head making it lighter. Lets say they do lie and face angle it just creates more variables and or weight that often go against design... I've spoken with major OEM designers and have been told adjustability also puts them into a corner from a design perspective and eventually they will have to radically change the design or get rid of the adapter. Not sure if I'm explaining it well but bottom line is there is a give and take, the Japanese also feel the adapter on the shaft changes the way a shaft tip plays, another thing they believe is that a shaft with a .350 tip will not perform like a tip at .335. FYI main reason .350 exists is for durability issues and from what I've heard "westerners abusing gear" i.e heavy dude puts his weight on a driver to tee up a ball..lol or hacker who makes divots with the driver, or anyone just tossing their bag into the trunk or not using a quality case during travel. I personally don't use adjustable drivers, I see how it's useful for those who require some wide open face angles etc.. but even on tour some of the PGA guys request versions of adjustable clubs with no adapters, like Tiger.
  22. Of course we can work out a good price for our supporting members. One thing to note is Mizuno will make as many sets as ordered before July 31st 2014. The release date is Janurary 2015! No orders will be accepted after July 30th 2014 Japan time.
  23. There is no need, spine is graphic up or down, flow there is no need, pure does nothing for shafts made and designed well, the very low end shafts may benefit from these things because they are poorly made but In my opinion these do more harm than good to high end shafts.
  24. It would lose a lot of feel that's for sure. Like TRPX imo, if it's played below 45" it loses it's sensation, at 46" it feels as it should. Most shafts played shorter lose feel especially the softer butt end shafts.
