or look back older for the Craft 611... not black but not white either ;-) - 440cc and can be ordered 1-1/2 deg flatter lie than the standard 58deg. Endo made, very nice

Here's a pic of mine - it's an unshafted Yonex eZone 380 next to an Adams 9015d, next to the Mizuno 611

I also still game my Mizuno 611 Craft, at ten degrees which is more than i usually play. I usually hit the ball high with a lot of spin, this driver solved that. flat low spin flight, good roll out.

Don't be bringing simple common sense to the argument..... ;-)

Perhaps all Japanese golfers are playing their irons 4 degree up or more from standard - maybe the Mizuno iron standard which i always heard was slightly flatter  than those westerners... ( I mean a 6ft Japanese man is going to have signigicantly shorter arms than a Western 6ft man? Or a 5ft 6in Japanese vs a 5ft6ib Westerner LOL.... what about the old chestnut that 'driver lie angle didn't mastter due to the low loft' . Now apparently some races have Trex arms ;-)    )

Lol, yeah it all seems so off, logic wise

  3. I remember posting something about this years ago, when I started getting into JDM, the fact that irons were always short and flat as standard, but woods were always over-length and super upright...It somehow doesn't make any sense. For example, if Japanese golfers have "short arms" then that should result in longer irons too, not just woods?

What would be the effect of the high toe on trajectory?

Not sure about trajectory, but I'm thinking a bigger sweet area for misses out of the toe or high on the face, self correcting draw comes to mind. Personally I never miss out of the heel for example.

Is it a little bit expensive as someone here has sold a set like this for 500 USD?

Around 1000 USD usually only gives you a pretty beat up set of these clubs in Japan. Just because ONE person sold them crazy cheap doesn't mean the rest of the market must follow. Obviously.

What if he had given them away? All 1st generation personals would be worth zero?

    Now ya tell me.......

Sure you don't have a spare set of heads lying about the place?!? :tsg_smiley_devil:

Yeah, I have been culling stuff pretty severly, only have 2 epon iron sets these days...Shafted I might add.

Too bad? Surely you like perfection.............

Ha ha, sure..No, I was saying too bad because I might have been ready to pick up the set before the heads were sold. Kinda rare to see my spec coming up in a ready built set.

I still dont understand the difference between maxima type V/D/G and Special Tuning. How is the ST not conforming? ST is low spin?

Callaway Epic SZ failed me miserably. Thinking of going back to Ryoma.  2013 version works really well for me.

The ST has a non-conforming hi-COR face. Not robust enough for swingspeeds over 95mph or so if I remember it correctly.

  9. Are the Modus shafts S flex? Doesn't say anywhere as far as I can see, apologies if it's written somewhere. 5-iron length?

Edit: saw the photo now, yes S flex

Do I have it right that at the moment its 2000 bucks for 3 wedges and 500 each additional with an in person fitting only?

Anybody can call Titleist and order a wedge for 500 each, without the in-person fitting. 2000usd is the price for 3 wedges with the in-person fitting....

So lets first address what they claim:  that TSG may be selling fake itobori products...   Who here really thinks TSG has sold anything fake ever?   Their only claim is false.

TSG was in agreement to deliver on:

    1.  supply photos and build website www.itorborigolfclubs.com .   ( visit website for proof )

    2. teach his team of dealers about photography,  equipment,  technique .  ( look at his dealers photos and see similarities )

    3. create price sheets,  order forms and file sharing network for his dealers .  ( I can post all of these up! )

    4. design aesthetics and ideas for future products . ( genrei stamping,  smooth sole option,  genrei blade,  itobori stamp )

We delivered 100%  He then very cowardly disappeared and caved to his dealers request to get rid of TSG.   We gave him every chance to mediate the situation but he was silent.   He then saw marked down prices on TSG and put that garbage up on his website.

So lets take a look at what Itobori is:

    - open model head cost 2000 yen,  finish cost 1500 yen,  his grinding as seen on youtube he touts takes 20min..  Thats $40 + labor to create a wedge that retails for $350.    850% mark up ok with you guys?

    - They stamped Made in Japan on a driving iron made in China.  First excuse was because import department required it,  second excuse was it was finished and paint filled in Japan...  truth is they were trying to mislead the consumer.  below more examples of this:

    - Hammer Forged - They market the genrei is hammer forged,  implying its forged by hammer.  load of bull!

    - They claim the grind on the back of the driver is made to control ball flight - anyone believe this?

    - That Mayuki Takai makes all the wedges by his own hand.  Ive seen first hand this is not true.

    - Saying their shaft ( actually a sanki ) is made of 110T,  its made of 90T

    - They have argued they tell their customers the woods, putter, and driving iron are made in China.

There is just a steady flow of bull s**t from these guys.  But on the positive side he is a skilled grinder and I do acknowledge his style.

What you will see is his distributors supporting him strong because no other brand is offering them $250 bucks profit on a single wedge.  Guys the bottom line is if your going to spend $350 a head at least get something original design or demand the dealer give you 50% off.  Never buy an Itobori at full price as for what it is $175 per head would be about right.

I do have some Itobori stock I can clear out if anyone is interested at 50% off.

I kinda was thinking something like that was the case, that MTG didn't like the discounts offered here on TSG..Because the prices I've seen at retailers are very high, hell even over on Rak itobori is silly expensive. I of course never believed for a minute that TSG was selling fakes.

  12. Some controversial info floating around, including a "warning" on the itobori website to avoid TSG, first thing you see at itobori.com. What's going on? TSG and MTG had a falling out of some sort?

Edit: I'm not here to gloat or anything remotely like that, just curious.
