  1. well, then he has changed his tune. a month or two ago he was quoted in golf magazine that he would travel with 15 and decide once he arrived at the course. if he is saying its out, then i guess its out.
  2. t-40 tour woods were good woods. the 5-wood is the best. i still have mine. don't carry because i find the rescue club more versatile (i.e. better from the rough). he said he tried a number of woods and the t-40 was the best. i would imagine he still wanted something with a lower flight, but higher than the 2 iron. the t-40 tour only has 40 grams in the sole where the t-60 has 60 grams and sasquatch, although not sure of the weight in it, does have a lower and further back c.o.g. giving it a higher launch than the ignite.
  3. umm....his 3-wood is the ignite as you have shown on the top, but the 5 wood he has recently started carrying is the nike t-40 tour. he has said this himself.
  4. are you sure about "there will be no more 2 iron at all"? i've read where he says he travels with 15 clubs now, both the 2 iron and 5 wood and will chose the club per course and conditions. t-40 and t-40 tour can be found on ebay. some golf shops still have them around new for next to nothing. i've also seen a few (hate to say this) at target. the t-40 woods were hit or miss. people loved the feel/sound or hated it. another complaint some said was that the club differed so much between the different lofts. although, it didn't bother me, i will agree. i had a +3 (13*), 3 (15*), 4 (17*) and 5 (19*) and they all felt and sounded like completely different clubs. even so, they all performed great for me. still have the 3 and 5.
  5. good looking bag. i've got the taylormade rescue dual tp in 19* and 14* and the nike pro combo utility iron in 18* and 20*. i think they are both great clubs. the pro combo is just like an iron with a thick top plate and sole. great off the tee, easy off the deck. easier than a long iron in the rough. great control with shot shaping. the rescue dual tp is great too. very easy to hit and get up in the air. very very forgiving and easy to control. great for hitting out of the rough. the 18* pro combo is longer than the 19* rescue dual, but the rescue dual is much more consistent. either way great clubs.
  6. bag: nike tour cart bag blue and black - great bag that has a pocket for everything. real nice for traveling because i can put everything in it and be done and not worry if i am missing something. also have a nike air carry stand bag that i use for walking. driver: nike ignite 410 with aldila nv 75 stiff shaft - this is the greatest drivr setup i've ever hit. i have a ignite 410 with a ys-6 stiff shaft and it was horrible. went to look to get it reshafted and instead found. was only $15 more than what the reshaft would have cost. the ignite 410 is an absolute cannon. very long very forgiving. the aldila nv-75 does a great job of adding to the greatness. the heavier shaft makes it easier to swing and keep on plane. this driver has the bar extremely high for any future drivers. also have a nike ignite 410 with graphite design ys-6 shaft and a nike forged ti 350 with graffaloy prolite 35. fairway woods: taylormade v-steel 3-wood 15* with true temper dynamic gold lite s300 - this is a great fairway wood off the deck. recently went on a big search for a 3 wood that is easy to hit off the deck, especially here in north texas where the grass can be on the thin side. nice ball flight. not to high to get caught in the wind, but high enough that it could hold a green. also have a nike ignite t60 3-wood 15* with true temper speed step stiff, nike t-40 tour +3-wood 13* with speed step stiff, nike t-40 tour 3-wood 15* with rifle 6.0, nike t-40 tour 4-wood 17* with speed step stiff and nike t-40 tour 5-wood 19* with rifle 6.0. i really like the ignite. i think it is the longest of the 3 woods i have. its not in the bag now becuase it is more difficult to hit off the thin fairways right now. the t-40 tour 3 wood doesn't get as high as the ignite or v-steel so it doesn't hold greens well, but is great for windy. the +3, and 4 rarely get used, only for certain courses. the 5 wood currently has been replaced by some utility clubs, but might make a comeback someday. utility clubs: taylormade rescue dual tp 19* with true temper dynamic gold s300 - just recently picked this up and this is a high launching cannon. very easy to hit off the deck or rough. great replacement for the 5 wood. no trouble holding the green with this. also have a taylormade rescue dual tp 14* with true temper dynamic golf s300 that i will use instead of a 3-wood, a nike pro combo utility iron 18* with true temper speed step stiff that will be used when i want a lower ball flight than the 19* rescue dual, and a nike pro combo utility iron 20* that i will use instead of the 3-iron when carrying the 4 wood. the pro combos are pretty easy to hit, not quite as easy as the rescue duals, but easier than irons. they are easy to work which the rescue duals are a little tough to do. irons: nike pro combo (2004) with rifle 6.0 - i love these irons. i've got the 2 - pw, but mainly carry the 3 - pw. great looking irons that are a great mix of shot making irons and forging irons. love the feel of the soft forgings with the rifle shafts. can't say enought great things about these irons. they are really good looking irons. the medallions in the back are a little goofy, but don't bother me. wedges: nike raw forged 53* and 58* with dynamic golf s400 - love these wedges. they have a nice heavy feel making them easy to swing. love the raw/rusting finish. also have a nike forged raw 60* with dynamic gold s400 with little bounce for real hard pan courses, and titleist vokey oil can 54* and 60* with dynamic golf s200 that i like on courses where there are complicated green areas. i find the vokeys to be excellent from 40 yards in and tough green side shots. the nikes are good too, but play better on the longer shots. putters: scotty cameron newport beach with 33" shaft filled with sugar for additional weight - greatest putter ever. i love the feel and sound of the beach sound slot as well as the heavy feel of the putter. has a satin finish which is great for sunny days and a custom paint job i did myself. also have a scotty cameron newport beach 34"/340 gram, yes callie 33", nike oz mallet 34" and a ping anser 3 becu 34". the ping is a little light, but is great for the practice green because you have to focus more with it. the nike is great when i struggle with aim but have distance problems on longer putts. the yes callie is great, but wish it had a better sound. this isn't actually in the bag, but i collect logo golf balls from every course i play. i've got 49 golf balls, with two courses missing because they didn't have logo balls when i played them and i haven't been back yet. the top and bottom racks are texas and a couple of oklahoma courses. the middle rack is my east coast courses, virginia and south carolina. there are couple special balls, like my first birdie (have a spot waiting for the first eagle and hole in one) and a ball from the flying saucer.
  7. well, it starts low, then balloons. i was thinking that was more a problem of too low a trajectory, compounded with too much spin on the ball (the ballooning). if i'm wrong in this assumption, let me know. i want to be able to use my 3 wood more. right now all i can do is take it off the tee box.
  8. correct, i am susing the stiff flex in my driver. i am serious about the aldilas. where can i get more information on NSPRO 95? i tried searching the web and i can only find it as an iron shaft. i had not considered steel again. i originally bought the woods (bought a +3, 3, 4, 5 nike t-40 tour) all with steel shafts, the nike speedstep, which i understand is the tt tx-90. i just did not like these shafts. this has me hesitant about light weight steel shafts.
  9. i'm currently playing a nike t-40 tour 3 wood with a rifle 6.0 steel shaft. driver swing speed 105. i am considering going with graphite, something lighter than the steel, but not too light, something in the 85 - 105 gram range. i would like something with a mid kick. i want to keep the ball down out of the wind, but high enough to land on greens and hold them. i figure a mid kick would do this. i am looking at aldila nv-95 and 105. i've mad corrections in my swing and the changes have brought consitentcy and power to my swing, but i am now ballooning the 3 wood. as a background, i am using the aldila nv-75 in my nike ignite 410 and love it.
  10. thank you. i bought a scotty cameron newport beach putter a few monthes back. it was a standard 35"/330 gram putter that the shaft had been cut down to 33" and the shaft had been "sugar filled". the guy couldn't completely explain it to me, just that it was a tour trick. i asked around and everyone thought i was on crack. ended up getting the putter its been absolutely awesome.
  11. i've been doing a lot of looking for a scotty newport beach putter and in the process rest of their line. is it just me, but it seems like every scotty putter is a copy of a ping putter, mainly the newports and the laguna?
  12. it had been sent away to scotty to have the sight line added. its not a fake. the sight line was the reason i choose this one. the sugar does make me wonder a little bit, and wether in fact it is sugar. i plan to regrip the club anyways and will check it out then. i've thought of some other options to get the head weight up to 340 grams. i don't want to use lead tape though. here it is: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1 i'll have it in a couple of days and give an update then.
  13. okay, here is the full story: i've just purchased a scotty cameron newport beach on ebay. 35" model cut to 33" but was "tour tricked" and had the shaft filled with sugar. now, i've been skeptical of this, however the head is in excellent shape and had a sight line added. of the couple i could find on ebay it had a good buy now price, head looked great and had the cover. i figure worse case, the feeling sucks, and i get the sugar taken out or just reshaft. not having a scotty cameron sticker on the shaft would not hurt my feelings. plus, i went and also got a cameron dancing grip so after i figure what i am going to do, i will get that on there.
  14. i understand the sugar sounds odd. my question, whether it is sand or sugar, what does this do for the performance of the club, filling the shaft?
  15. how does the sand work? how does that effect the putter?
