  1. Hello, I am planning to have an Ashton X1 FWD 14deg built with a Rifle 6.5 steel shaft. I would like to have a final swingweight around D3. I'm having an awful time trying to figure the weight of the rifle shaft. It is somewhere between 117- 130gm. Looking at some swingweight calculators it looks like this heavier end a swingweight of D3 is atainable with a final length of 42.5". The head weigth of the fwd is 208gm and I was planning to use a Lamkin Dual Density crossline at 48gm. Does anyone have a better idea of what is the weight of a Rifle 6.5 wood shaft? I currently have a Titleist 13 980F with an X100 and I find the ball flight a little too low....roughly 8-10deg launch angle. If I get up a bit higher the ball just ballons on me and dies. From what I can gather it looks like the Ashton X1 FWD is similar to the sonartec 2.5 (mid flight)..and X1D is like the Sonartec 3.5 (lower flight)...but I'm not absolutely sure. My other question is would a 14 deg mid flight fwd with a rifle 6.5 a good combo for getting the ball up a bit more with a nice trajectory..or is the Rifle just going to throw the ball up in the air? Kind regards, Eric
  2. What are the differences between the japanese versions and those produced for Hogan..materials, models, cutomization (heavier heads)? Eric
  3. I was in my childhood friend's wedding party this fall. He bought all the guys in the wedding party personalized Hoofer bags. It's a sweet bag. Not sure if he ordered them directly from Ping or got them embroidered in the Boston area.
  4. I think that one was from a feable attempt at a Happy Gilmore shot. :D I just picked up the Anser 4 a few of weeks ago. I'm really liking it so far. It's flatter than the SC 1.5. I'll be able to compare the distance/pace control in a few weeks in sunny FLA. I may have to my SC 2 deg flat too. Eric
  5. Here's a link to some photos. http://ca.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/[email protected]?.dir=/36f0 Item descriptions are in my signature. Kind regards, Eric
  6. Thanks everyone for the info and the advice. Unfortunately, not looking for anything at the moment. There is still too much snow on the ground so I'm still in ice hockey mode. :D Watching more golf than hockey these days. Kind regards, Eric
  7. Hello, How can someone looking at a Tity 983 be able to differentiate it between a "Tour" and a retail head? I did not find any relevant information in any recent topics on TSG. Googling for 983 Tour...a few ebay items state the "no serial number" passes as a "Tour" head. Is this true? On a retail head is the serial number on the hosel/head? Can someone order a custom head/shaft combo for Titleist and not get a serial number on the head/hosel? With all the discussion relating to authenticity of "Tour" products, I'm just trying to become an informed shopper. :rough: Kind regards, Eric
  8. I was checking out the Ashton website...looks pretty good..and they're a Canadian company to boot.. Does anyone esle have an opinion or experience with this driver? I saw that they are introducing a 415cc version with no screws but 5 diff version instead....light, heavy, draw, neutral, and fade. - news release sectin of their website. Kind regards, Eric
  9. PM Sent - nevermind the info about the finish...just read that they only offer two types of finishing. Kind regards, Eric
