  1. I can't speak about the CV Blade, but I have a set of the Forged Blades. I believe they're very similar sets except the Forged Blade is a true blade. In any event, here's what I can tell you: Relatively forgiving for a players stick, due in part to to a good amount of mass low in the club head. Also makes them a bit higher launching than some other options. Kyoie (sp) forged and REALLY soft and solid (good enough to have me sell my Miuras). With respect to shape--I love it. It's a distinctively 'JDM' shape with a more sculpted toe....very similar to the Gauge Design clubs (I think, due to the fact they were forged at the same place). In short, these irons are gorgeous, feel great, and are very playable. I swore off blades until I can play more; but these are too beautiful for me to sell.
  2. I have to agree with PGAPro....the TP7x is a nice shaft, but it's not a $1000 shaft. But then again, I'm not sure what is. I played one in an X flex in a J33 460. It was tipped at least 1/2" to lower the ball flight so I like the trajectory, but didn't get along with the 'hinge-like' kick. I'm not sure if it was the high torque rating or the kick point but I found dispersion to be a bit broad compared to my other chosen shafts. But in all fairness, I don't get along well with mid-kick/high torque shafts. I'm more of a high kick/low torque guy. IMHO, If you're looking for a 80g driver shaft with mid-kick and high torque rating, you can do at least as good as the TP7x for MUCH less.
  3. Those irons look a great deal like the AR1's. Any word on how they play?
  4. I'm about to grab one of these, but I'm a little concerned about how the magnetic sensor attached to the club.... I assume you have to 'stick' the sensor to the club---what happens when you want to remove it? Will it stick to another club or is that it? When you go through the 5 sensors, is that it? Does the Japanese portion of the ad address any this? Otherwise, I gotta have one.
  5. Whoa....do I have that currency conversion correct?! $110US? If so, sign me up! I'll take at least one.
  6. Very interesting read. Even more interesting first post... Just curious, but where did you obtain all this metallurgical knowledge? It seems highly specified, but given my limited knowledge of chemistry also seems highly plausible---although I've never quite heard it presented this way. Thanks much for the info.
  7. Well I just picked up a 415 and shafted it with an Accra SC65. I should make it to the range later today and course tomorrow. I have a little experience with the 460, but I'm certainly not qualified to do a comparison. But expect, at least, a little info on the 415!
  8. Has anyone given both of these a try? I'm interested to hear what you found. I can assume the 415 is a little less forgiving, more workable, perhaps more solid, etc. But I'm mainly interested in any personal insight out there.... Is there a difference in shape? Any real performance differences (balls speed, LA, spin, etc)? Is there a reasonable difference in feel? If so, how dependent was the shaft on feel? I know there's a ton of love for the 460....I guess I'm just interested in any info on the 415.
  9. Great post! I think for the most part, recreational golfers realize this---even the good ones. Getting ourselves to believe it is another thing entirely. For instance, I ran into a friend of mine at the range who I hadn't seen in years. He plays maybe 2x a month and he's sporting a set of MP14's. I'm sure he's not a + hdcp (hit balls next to him); but he claims he hits the 14 better than any cavities. My apologies to anyone who feels the same, but the 14's (and clubs like them) are NOT game improvements irons! As for myself, I'm staring at a set of MR23 blades (smallest damn clubs I've ever seen) that I played for a while. Needless to say, I LOVE them! Sweetest feeling irons I've ever felt. Well, as I noticed my scores begin to rise, I decided to start keeping track of my stats (GIRs, FWs, putts, etc). After a number of rounds, it became clear I wasn't hitting nearly enough greens to shoot the scores I wanted to be. Switched them out for some B'stone CBs I got on the cheap---50% GIR's is the worst round I've had with them. That tells me all I need to know. Oh and did I mentioned I went a half flex softer (x1 to s4's). It's tough to shelf your ego, but sometime you have to weigh your priorities. For me I had to ask myself the question (no offense intended to anyone here): Did I want my bag to say 'player' or my scores? For me, it was a tougher question to answer than I thought.....
  10. If you're willing to separate, I'll take the Blueboard 63x.
  11. Fantastic info and pics! After just picking up a 435, you're giving me the itch for the 430P. It's just too pretty...
  12. I can't wait to get a full report....and how about some pics? : )
