To cut or not to cut Ryoma Beyond Power

Hello,

I have the Maxima Type D in 10.5 with Beyond Power shaft.  I still have my D-1 Premia in 9.5 tipped firm from regular flex and happy with it.  The Maxima with Beyond Power feels a little whippy compared to the Premia with Tour AD and when I swing a little faster I get a slice or blocked fade.  I mentioned it to my clubmaker and he suggested cutting the tip 1/2" or also floated with the idea of cutting 1/4 from the tip and 1/4 from the butt respectively to effectively lower swing weight and make it a slightly stiffer shaft.  I said why don't we ask Ryoma people what they think.  I sent similar email to the Ryoma people but the email address on their website is undeliverable.  So here I am wondering if the suggestions above are a good idea.  For additional reference, my swingweight has been measured between 88 to 98 mph and I have a 13 index.   Thanks for your input.
