I expect to be using the new Mizuno Pro 460 head releasing in the states in October. I think it is the MP600.
I am presently playing with a 1993 9.5 degree warbird steel with a RCH36 stiff tour shaft. I have been getting no better results with oem shafts and new technology.
I went to a launch monitor yesterday and with a Pro V1x was getting average results of swing speed 120+ Ball speed 185 Ball spin of 2600 and carry distance of +/- 300yds with a launch angle of 10degrees
with a new taylor super quad with a aldila 65 gram proto s shaft I was getting similar numbers but with a 3600 rpm. I think the shaft was too light and too flexible.
It has been suggested that I should get a Diamana white board in X and 83 grams. Any thoughts. Are any of the other more esoteric shafts more consistent. I am not concerned about impressing someone with rare and obscure equipment but rather my play. If it works better I'm interested if it is simply unusual I'm not. I'm looking for consistency and a shaft that will be stable if I lean on it as well as when I throttle back a bit. I like to know where the head and club are in the swing.
Thanks for your input.
