  1. I game the VG3 irons and they are good quality sticks. I had the same problem with deciding between them and the AP2. Let me share some of the thoughts and reasoning I had in deciding to get the VG3 irons. First, the FEEL on both flush shots and slight mis**ts was better. Endo forged, enough said! Second, the design and technology that went in to the VG3 is outstanding, especially the tungsten weighting. The weights are specifically placed in the 4, 5, 6 and 7 to manipulate forgivness and trajectory. In the 8 to PW there is no tungsten weighting which helps raise the CG and lower the trajectory on those 'must hit accurate' short irons. In the AP2 the tungsten weight are in all the irons even the short irons. The stronger lofts allow me to swing easier and more in control and still hit the ball the same distance as my old mizuno. The VG3's lofts are one club stronger. The beauty of swinging with a smoother (3/4 type) tempo is that when I need to put one out there, just a little longer than my standard yardage on my iron.... I can!!! Useful from the rough or when in trouble. Finally, VG3 irons are JAPAN ONLY exclusive, Endo forged, sticks of innovative Japanese design and technology with a Titleist badge!!! Awesome bragging rights!!! AP2's are a dime a dozen in both availability and feel. My VG3’s have KBS Tour shafts which lower the flight and improve the feel.... Good luck with your search.
  2. Why not try the middle road.... KBS Tour shafts weight wise fit between the DG and the NS Pro and according to a recent Japanese golf magazine article the trajectory of the KBS is flatter than the DG and NS Pro but reaches a similar apex height to the NS Pro. I had the same dilemma when it came to choosing shafts and after 7 launch monitor sessions and testing all three shafts side by side... I went with the KBS Tour because it had the feel of a NS Pro but the solid weight and trajectory of DG. I hope this helps :)
  3. I was testing drivers in and around Tokyo over the weekend in particular the Titleist 910D3 and was just wondering if the stock shafts for the JDM (Diamana Ahina, Tour AD DJ) are the real deal or just "Made for Titleist"? I've seen pic of the US version and the shafts looked exactly like the ones tested.... Also, not to hijack my own post... the VG3 irons are AWESOME!!! with a great feel, forgiveness and trajectory (as seen on them monitor) although the stronger lofts had me hitting the demo 7 iron @ 186-178 yards on the monitor...
