by the conversation here, these sound like they're only several years old...but they have the look of 80's at the latest. either way, they're pretty cool!

being stuck in the middle of the usdm market, i've grown to hate all the crap glued all over the back of irons nowadays. it reminds me of two things, a decorator crab's shell and cruising in tiajuana! however, something about everything on the back of the bold works for me. i can't explain it but i fell for these instantly. i'm just hoping their performance lives up to my expectations.

these are larger at address with a bit more offset but much softer and easier to hit than the ezones.

i thought that at first but i think the swoosh goes in the opposite direction on the epons.

very good to hear! looking forward to your on course review. as you know, i have the same combo and fully agree that's it's the longest "legal" pairing i can imagine. unfortunately curiosity (or greed for distance) got the best of me and i'm shafting up my other 435 with a quadra to see if it can possibly do any better.

robb, compared to modern usdm drivers the 435 doesn't feel too bad...actually compared to most it feels pretty good. however, compared to the recent forged jdm heads that are most popular the 435 has quite a different feel, nowhere near as soft. regardless, very glad to hear your initial impressions were positive. it only gets better with this baby! i gamed my back-up 435 yesterday with a guy trying to make his way on the gateway tour. he kept talking about how his tm driver has the hottest face in golf. he probably had several inches in height and 50lbs on me and couldn't out drive the 435! i could see him eyeing my driver every chance he got trying desperately to figure out what it was without asking.

at first thought one would think it might be a distraction but after the first swing or two, i never noticed it at address again.

not many people fall for the 435 their first time out so i won't expect glowing reviews from you right away. but it will be interesting to hear what you think after a few range sessions and a couple of rounds. have fun testing!
