Ping Vantage 2008 Canadian edition.

I have no intention of getting a refund and was in way trying to stir up controversy on this matter. I just thought it was strange that G-Field wouldn't have addressed a problem like this already as it seems to be a common problem. Until I find a tool (the one above looks like it might work) or take it in to get it epoxied I have to be careful about not losing the weight. Also trying to tighten it with a pin can result in a nice big scratch if I'm not careful.

OK on the black onyx but must say it doesn't look too good on G-Field from a perception standpoint. As this is the first time acquiring a G-Field product, no matter how well it might perform (as I have yet had the pleasure of hitting it) having parts fall off from the get-go is not good. This really makes me question their quality control. My 2 cents.

Chris, any chance you can get G-Field to provide us with the tool so that the weights can be secured? I really hope this isn't going to be an ongoing issue. The clubhead is too nice to have something like this take away from it. I've never had problems with weights coming loose on Taylor Made clubs.

I just my G-Field GFT #7 head from Chris last week, and took it right away to my clubmaker and had him put a Fuji HK-PRO110 in it. Well yesterday I went to pick it up and he told me that the weights are loose. I was able to turn one of the weights with the tip of a pin. While he tightened them up as best as he could, he didn't have the right tool to tighten them up fully. My question is, where can one get this tool? Has anyone else had a problem with weights coming loose? I'm a bit concerned as weights coming loose during a round can cause the clubhead to play different than how it was meant to (lose its integrity). Having said that, the GFT head looks AWESOME, and even better with the HK-PRO110 in it.

I agree there's always the next "greatest" thing in the waiting but it's a crapping feeling when the it comes out even before you hit a single ball with your current purchase. Having said that, I still have high hopes for my Epon/Axiv combo. Just an observation but a majority of the people interested in the Roddio vs whatever seem to have surrendered to the idea that the Roddio is better than anything on the market. Anyone disagree? Carl (TBC777) wrote he's played the Roddio but is planning to go back to the Axiv, does he know something that we don't?

So, I JUST received my Epon 460 with Axiv 7076... very nice! Thanks Chris! BUT, did I make the wrong shaft choice? All this talk about Roddio is making me worried. Mind you, I haven't hit the Axiv yet so I shouldn't knock the Axiv but what am I missing (if anything) by not going with the Roddio? I hate this feeling of having bought a new product only find out that the new model just released Who here play an Axiv and are planning to switch to the Roddio? Who here have played both the Axiv and the Roddio? What are the differences you've noticed?

My dad has asked about new clubs, even though he just bought a whole new Honma set a couple of months ago. He's a strong guy but he doesn't have the swing speed now due to weakened back, shoulders, etc. So I ask you which JDM clubs are stupid easy to hit and long? And what shaft do you think is most appropriate, he'll probably need a regular flex?

What happened to all the G-Field products in the Pro Shop? TSG no longer carry G-Field? I also noticed that the Epon drivers and woods prices have been reduced, does this mean new and better products are replacing them? I am interested as I have ordered a G-Fied GFT FW and a Epon 460...

Which would you go with? Has anyone seen and played both? Any comparisons in terms of quality, performance, etc.? It seems the overwhelming preferred putter on TSG is the Premium Zone... why is this?

Nice! All JDM, eh? Why do you need all those pretty clubs for anyway? You can only play for (what?) 2 weeks out of the year because of the LONG Toronto winters :tsg_smilie_laugh: I used to live in TO for 7 years... gotta love the -35C weather!!! I heard it was pretty mild this winter (til now anyway). My dream bag would similar to what I already have currently except: 1. Driver - Epon 460 w. Axiv V-Spec (Based on what everyone preaches! I have one on order... can't wait) 2. G-Field GFT (on order) w. Fuji HK-Pro 110 (will build as soon as GFT is received, hope it plays well). Will go nicely with my tried-and-true R7 16* Tour and Rescue 22* (I'd like to try an Epon FW and GFT UT (or similar) to compare but I can't see either of these clubs leaving the bag anytime soon) 3. Have experiemented with Tourstage, Ping, Callaway, etc. but am quite satisfied with my MP-32s w. TC X1. However, I would love to try a set of the Epon (any model). 4. Wedges are my weakness - I've tried a TON of wedges but current favourites are the TM Tour-issued Y-Cutters. I would love to try Epon X-Model Copper and Gold's Factory. I really wish either Epon or GF would make a 64* model. 5. I've tried numerous putters including Tour Camerons but keep coming back to my 2-Ball. It's not the sexiest but even the most expensive, sexiest putter looks like a dog if it can't sink putts. I would however like to try a G-Field Premium Zone #1 and GF #2 (going by TSG rankings) 6. I'm a Ping Hoofer guy, and will probably like to get a Ping Vantage but want the embroidered Canadian Flag like on current Hoofer 3. If I go JDM, I'd probably get a Tourstage stand bag, but Epon standbag would be cool (does one exist?) 7. Although Como headcovers look awesome, I'd have to stay with my Jan Craigs. For a grand total of... a fraction of $25K

BSG just posted a bag full of clubheads and shafts that came out to approx. $25K. To be honest, most of the of clubs in that bag are not on my personal "dream bag" list. Anyway, it got me thinking... If you had no limit on what you could spend on your dream bag what would the clubs/shafts be?

Is the Epon 460 a naturally high/normal/low launching head? I am getting a 0.6 open faced head with an Axiv V-Spec 7076, and have to choose between 9.5 and 10.5... any input? I normally hit a high ball but like a fairly high trajectory as long as it doesn't get knocked down by wind (when there is wind). What do you think, do I go with the 9.5 or 10.5?

How does this driver compare in performance to the Epon 460?

I'm referring to a tour issued (as in from the PGA Tour Van), which is very different from the TP version.

My current driver is the original R7 but the next driver I am considering is the tour-issued R7 460. I would much appreciate it if somebody could give me a comparison of the R7 460 to the Epon 460. How does the Epon compare to tour-issued TM equipment?

Where's the recommendation from TSGirl? Does anyone have a comparison between the R7 460 Tour and Epon 460? I'm torn...

Thanks for your reply. I'm having a TOUGH time trying to 1. decide whether to go with the Epon460 or R7 460 Tour, and 2. whether I should change drivers at all (from my R7). More feedback and advice from other members would be much appreciated.

What makes the Epon wedges so good? How do the Epons compare to the Fourteens?

How would you compare them to other wedges (Fourteen, Epon, Y Cutter, Zodia, etc.)? When are they coming in? Can you get this wedge in a 64* loft? Which shaft works best?

Can I get a recommendation on shafts (Axiv, Diamana, Fuji, Ozik, etc.) based on the following? * Swing Speed (mph or m/s) = 110-115 (can get a bit faster but am trying to slow my speed down to increase consistency) * Tempo (Slow, Reg, Fast) = on the fast side of a regular tempo * Usual ball flight (Low, Medium, High) = quite high * Desired Flight (Low, Medium, High) = medium * Desired Weight (60g, 70g, 80g range) = 70s * Bad shot (Right or Left) = hooks * What are you looking for in a shaft? I currently play a tour R7 9.5* with a Fuji 771TA at 44.5" (went shorter to improve accuracy, wasn't too concerned with loss of yards as I was fairly long to begin with). CPM is 269 and find it very comfortable, not boardy and not soft. Natural tendency is a draw but bad shots used to be hooks with 757 Stiff but has significantly improved with 771TA. I am happy with a slight fade. My criteria for a new club/shaft combo is still accuracy over distance, but would like more distance than what I'm getting now with R7/771TA combo. BTW, I really enjoy playing with the 771TA, best shaft I've played thus far. RE. Epon 460 - What face angles are available? Does 9.5* go higher/lower than others (eg, R7)? Which shaft works best with Epon 460 - Axiv, Ozik, or Diamana White? How does the Epon 460 compare to TM R7 460, Cally, and other top drivers?
