  1. Thanks again gocchin. yup, SW will be a challenge but not impossible and you and I seem to share simialr sentiment with tip/head weighting :-) As for the length for distance, yes, but that is assumiing that one can handle the extra length. the reason why I want it at 39 (or 39.5) is that it is a more natural progession from my iron lengths which I play at 1/2 inch below US Standard and also on the basis that if it is shorter, it is easier to handle and hence better impact and hence better distance. I'm playing my EGG 15* just under 43 and would prefer it at 42.75 but the SW issues again and even though it is shorted, that damn thing is long man. I played it yesterday and my flight mates and I were very very very impressed with the distance and I think the thin maraginf face has a lot to do with it. Got you on the bending part. Thanks again for chiming in.
  2. That's another reason why I've asked gochin if he knows whether the EGG I+ can be bent for loft and lie. THe rest of the head is steel so it'll be a bit tougher to bend than forged steel I am assuming.
  3. Oh, I'm also thinking of trying the older 18* 3I EGG iron but suspect the magic behind the EGG is the ES230 Maraging Steel face which the EGG iron does not have.
  4. Thanks for this and much appreciated. The range I frequent has the Fourteen whcih I just found out so I'll go there to demo it. My concern with the EGG I+ is that it is at stock 40.5 and I suspect D-0 and I'm intending to play it at 39 with a NS Pro 750. Hopefully the added weight of the 750 over te stick graohite which I think is 50+ grams and with my prefered 38 gram Decade =cord grip will help to compensate some so that I do not have to tamper too much with tip weighting which I don't like to do. Do you know if the hosel of the new EGG I+ is friendly to lie adjustment?
  5. Thanks J. That's what I am thinking as well and the EGG I+ is also described as iron like by PRGR on their website. This seems to be the one but as it hits my shores only next month, I thought I'd garner some thoughts in the interim. Also, no one seems to have hit the EGG I+ as well.
  6. Thanks for this. I think the Bridgestone air muscle you are referring to is similar of the US version of the TourStage drving iron which I can actually demo here. Good anecdatoal reference for me. Thanks again.
  7. Hi, Thanks for this. As a club fitting enthusiasts, I am very aware of the above but even club fitters may not have the uxury of all the listed heads in the same shaft for testing. I'm hoping to draw on anecdotal exprience of forum members here to get some guidance in terms of which is a better calculated bet so that I won;t have to buy all of them at once and rfeshaft and fit them to the same specs. I have the know how but just don"t feel like going through that exercise. Best.
  8. Thanks Ara. I get what you;re saying but as I tedn to hit irons better, I'm hoping to try a more iron-like utilty for now. Halo is more woodish I think.
  9. I tend to hit irons better in general and my halo Tour issue is aging. Which utility iron is most forgiving OFF THE DECK and looking for a 18/19* loft : 1. RC VS UT Iron 2. Fourteen HI610H 3. Miura IC 6001 4. Yonex Zero Iron 5. Srixion Z-UTI Driving Iron 6. PRGR EGG I+ 7. Epon AF-901 Intending to reshaft with a NS RPO 750 Regular and playing to 39 inches finished playing length. Thanks in advance.
  10. Any interest in a TEE CB2 or very very new XCG-3? Both are 15%
  11. I'm playing my EGG with the stock M40 shaft which is surprisingly good. I wouold not say its the tightest but I suspect in my case its my swing (surprise :-)) and that I am probably inbetween flexes but am choosing distance over accuracy for now. That said, its not like its next fairway wild but this is long dude. Try it with the stock shaft first and coming from a traditional shaft ho, that says a lot.
  12. Any reason why nothing from Miura (old or new) in the consideration set?
  13. Not sure but I just found them at golfwrx and PW is 46*. I'm surprised as I was told they are odl school lofts which means PW at 49*. Not that it makes a difference to me liking them more or less. Just wanted to know so I could check and reset to factory lofts.
  14. No issues here but I have not hit the older version. My frame of reference are the TEEs. I do however have to tee it lower than with the TEEs.
  15. Thanks. The thing is, I hit my Epon Pro-I 4I better and more consistently than I do my Halo and the Halo is a forgiving UT. Its my swing which seems better to irons hence my question. Believe it or not, I hit the EGG Spoon FW long off the TEE BUT... I can;t hit it off the deck LOL. It's my swing and my mental condition when it comes to FW and UTs off the deck. Irons somehow don;t freak me out as much. Strange eh? :-)
  16. I didn;t think it was possible having progressed from CB1 then 2 then XCG-3 AND.... I'm using the stock M-40 shaft. More roll than my XCG-3 with GD Tour AD Sf 6 shaft. I will say the M-40 os perhaps not as tight BUT as I use this off the tee only, I don;t want to sacrifice the distance. I would say 10 yards more on avg. So now I want o fnd out more about the EGG utility to possibly replace my very old Cleveland Halo Tour issue 19*. Any one play the EGG utility? Is it as good as the EGG FW? Or what about the Miura IC-2003 driving iron? My swing after picking up golf again just seems to be better with irons and I'm not hitting my Halo with any consistency (it's the golfer not the club). Do teh EGG Utility or the IC-2003 play more like irons which is what I want? Thanks. I love EGGs.

    Sorry to hear about this.
  18. Anyone knows who makes the stock shaft for the PRGR Egg FW and what the weight and torque are for the M-440 shaft? I know it's made in China. Thanks.
  19. For what its worth and this may complicate things for you. i ahve quite a bit of experience with shafts albeit not the PRGR shafts and I have found that for some reason, a Japanese Regular flex for example, some how plays a bot softer than a US Spec Regular flex. I guess the best perhaps is to be able to get full shaft profile detais of butt, mid and tip numbers but that will be tough in this instance and you may not have those for the shft you are plying now as well. If I were you and could not get a demo club, I would hazzard on the M46 if you are confortable with your US spec regu flex shaft. Again, no numbers to substantiate just personal feel and experience. My 2 cents VAT included.
  20. So from top to bottom it would be equivalent to 37=Senior, 40 = Regular, 43 = Stiff and 46 = X-Stiff and closer to Japanese spec flexes?
  21. Hi Dale, I'm not sure if you are alluding this and if you aren't, pls disregard. I think what is most important but most elusive and hardest to do is to find a shaft to match your swing, head, ball combo especially for amateurs as our swings are just not that consistent. Many have said that can be addressed with range monitors, simulators etc but I have found all those numbers to not account for much. That best fiiting is dynamic range fitting where you have to see with actual balls what your final ball flight is and what it does once the ball hits the ground. Not many fitters do that as it is tiome consuming and expensive. With all that said, one may very well find that a stock setup does indeed suit his swing without needing to add on a $1000 shaft. If the stock shaft works, it works and that is the end objective for fitting. For me, I have found stock shaft to not work for me most of the time. Maybe it's just in the head but I've always at least spined even the stock shaft if I did not change them and for me, having tried most all and sundry form Fujikura, Diamana, practically all the US brand shafts, Mamiya et al, I find that generally speaking, my messed up swing is best served by Graphite Design Tour ADs range for all my woods and whenever I need a shaft, I really only look at the GD Tour AD range. I digress... if the stock setup works, play it and use the money saved from chnaging shafts to get a nice Epon staff bag. :-)
  22. Not fussed about condition (eg. minor dings etc) but grooves must be good. Thanks for looking.

hi, if you;re in Singapore, I can point you in the right direction for a used piece at a very very very good price.
  24. Somehow I thought that last para would be coming... LOL Thanks for sharing your experiences. I saw a used 13* EGG BUT I thnk its the older head and it did NOT have the scoop out at the back ie it has a crown of sorts.
