  1. check out KEIICHIRO FUKABORI's white Nike staff bag is sweet. anyone know what driver Shingo uses in the states? I know he uses a DFI & his cowboy hats have DFI on them but he must use a conforming driver in the states. Chris this is a question for you, JYUNKO OMOTE has a Taylor Made staff bag different from what it's staffers like me have in the US, do you have an info on that R7 bag?

  2. So how does this V10 compare to the X01? I think I saw that Paula Creamer was playing the X01, does anyone know if that means Precept is going to sell a model similar to the X01 in the near future?

I saw Paula using a Tourstage ball, she was putting on the practice green with 2 sleeves of them out, unless Precept somehow puts their name on clearly a Tourstage product which I highly doubt

  3. the feel was very soft, suprising softer than the ProV1 IMO. very good feedback around the greens & spin it well on hard fast greens. it just took a bit getting used to control spin with this ball. goes forever with the driver & has a great flight with the irons, very flat & boring. if you have the loot to shell out i'd say get a dozen to try. BTW i can't remember seeing any huge scuff marks after hitting wedges, or maybe i really didn't look at it afterwards b/c i was only given a sleeve.

  4. this ball is the sh*t. there was a Japanese pro hitting balls next to me the other day at Lake Jovita & he came over to ask about my TM stuff & got the talking & went out & played. He had a bag full of Tourstage stuff which was sweet & gave me a sleeve of these balls & i'd drop the prov1 in an instance. I cant type his name so I'm not even gonna try but his parents I think are the ones that played with us (they didn't speak much english) & they too had bags full of Japan spec equipment (obviously being from Japan). If I see them around at Jovita in the next week I'll snap pictures. But whoever can get this ball use it, you wont go back to the prov1, me I've got no choice because I can see paying that much for something I already get... damn!!

  5. i wasn't a graphite shaft guy until a few years ago, geez i was still playing a x100 shaft in my R510 TP until just before Sergio made the switch, i play my driver almost the same length as the steel, @44" its a hald inch longer. I could never go back to a steel shaft in my driver, nor the 3wood, to me it seems to be a big change in in flight, kick, weight, ect. i have a heavy 100gram shafts in my 3woods, but the one in the bag now is only about 89grams b/c i have to have the pink shaft! although you are going to sacrifice atleast 15-20, thats about what i lost when comparing, you will certainly be able to keep it in the fw more. just my .02 cents

  7. I'll play for bags anytime, yes I'm going back to the CGT. The tour director Andrew Dearborn is eager in having me return as I missed so much due to surgery, he had told me that he had heard nothing but good things about me from fellow players & the owner has helped me out a ton. Depending on how Hooters & Golden Bear goes this summer I'll possibly goto Canadian Tour q-school early next year & split the season like a lot of guys do on the CGT.

well first off the lead tape is there to get the weight up to D5 due to the grinding of the soles, the 58* has a little more lead tape than I probably want due to all the grinding off the sole. but one of the main reasons I went with the CG11's was by putting the lead tape there I am able to lower the ball flight without drilling out the soles & then putting tape in the middle of the club like I have done with my CG10 wedges, it may look a bit ugly but it serves the purpose, the flight is definatly lower. ill probably re weight the 58* by putting 4 strips of lead tape in the back then have my clubmaker weight it to D5 because theres about 6 strips back there now. the CG11's I like a lot, the look takes some getting used to but when they 1st became available on the van the guys working on it told me I had to try them, they feel very solid & won't change to the CG10's until these are worn. the new Launcher strong 3wood is the best 3wood I think I have ever had, before I had been using the Comp 3wood but the shape of the Launcher is that classic pear shape & perfect to hit it off the deck. the flight is great & the feel is superb, the only thing I didn't like was it sounded like hitting an old BB driver, LOUD! so I had it gluded to dampen it a little bit, now it sounds great. as soon as I get someone with a digital camera I'll get pics of the R7's & Fusion driver.

  10. whats the craic with the whole new cavity back sand/lob wedge look?

the cavity sopposidly frees up weight to re-distribute which makes these wedge's more stable at impact. to tell you the truth i am only using them because they are the same shape of the 588 & it saves from drilling holes in the flange. not to mention we went through a few too many getting the grinds right, so when we got them perfect they went in the bag.

  11. homez proof is always in the pudding....if they work for ya stick to them!!!

yea, they look like a cavity back & didnt like it, but without the badge it saves from drilling into the sole to relieve weight to get lead tape in the middle of the head to get a lower flight. this way we just built it, ground the sole to my liking, weighted it lighter & went back to the trusty lead tape!

  12. i've got 3 in the bag now, CG11 588t wedges. when i was going through the Taylor Made to Cleveland change the guys on the tour van talked me into trying the proto's of them & i love them, the only thing that sucks about these wedges is it took extensive grinding & a day wasted at the range to get them perfect & with no CG badge in the cavity the weight was too light whicg caused me to toss a ton of lead tape in the middle of the 58, but dont mind it b/c it brings the flight down. all in all i didnt like these wedges but after hitting them thats all the talking into i need, glad the guys on the Cleveland van threw them on me.

  13. indeed, scottys do rule!! not sure about the "player" part :) i'm going to go and play a few in this beautiful spring weather so i'll be back on later

the rain has finally stopped here, ill actually get 18 in today with my instructor & caddy. finally he can get yardages on clubs & such. 5 straight days of rain has been killing me!

  14. thanks, Jon,

wow...a pro is impressed with my bag!!! yeah, i don't use the slighter all that much cos i loooove my holiday newport 2. I also might be inclined to get a r7 fw, i can't wait to get my scratch wedges cos yours, and every others ones i've seen look unbelieveable. I've bought a 54 and 60 to be done in 3x Black with the yellow paintfill and im not sure whether to get a 47 or 48 yet, also im getting them stamped "Olly"....they will be sweet.

    Olly

pictures don't so Scratch irons/wedges justice, wait until you see them in person, WOW :surprize: IMO I'd get a 47* PW because that will match the loft of the stock Mizzy PW you are using now, my MP-37 PW was 47 I believe & your MP-30's are the same I believe since you've got a PLAYAHZ set of irons. That Scotty you have is sweet, I really like the finish, it must set up beautiful. Nothing like a limited SC putter :smile2:

  15. NICE BAG  really like the R5 dual FW, maybe putting my R7 FW in the bag soon, but I'm killing my trusty Rescues. Love Mizzy irons, used a sent of MP-37's before getting in with TM, Mizzy has to make some of the best feeling irons, but Scratch has to me my fav! I'm also impressed with your Slighter putter, thought it was a Scotty & made me look at it more closely, love the detail.

  16. I thought my mp37s were nice & compact, these irons are that much more compact, i could put butter on your b'fast toast with my 3iron!

Well I can atest to that. I was privelaged enough to play with Jon last weekend and those irons are SWEET! He ain't kidding about those things being a butter knife...he could have cut the crust off my post round tuna sandwich if he wanted to! :)

I hope you double glued that 7 iron head back on...you could kill someone at a tourney!...lol. Best of Luck at your 1st event!

    Mike

MY ORANGE CRUSH MAN, yes I took care of the problems. Great weather huh! these irons could buttah anything, i could have probably have given you a clean shave after that round with my 3 iron, the funny part was when you asked me how much bounce was on my 58*, then you looked at it & said, "oh, theres no bounce"!!! I cant wait to play again Mikey Boy, I shall be in touch.

  17. class irons look so sweet!

how you finding them in comparrison to your old taylormades????????

Bernie, I like them so much better! I could control the ball flight lef/right fine with the tp2s but I couldn't control the trajectory & I now can easily with these blades. Also because of the slightly larger sole i had trouble punching longer irons with the tp2s with the Scratch blades I can play virtually any shot with them. Everyone at my club always asks how can you hit such a small ass irons, because I'm a playah  ! The only thing is that when I'm in deep rough I've got to take my time to hit the ball, if its sitting up in the 2nd cut I've got to catch it clean or the ball goes right over the club! I love these things, I thought my mp37s were nice & compact, these irons are that much more compact, i could put butter on your b'fast toast with my 3iron! Also its that much better that Ari incorperated the Lehman box toe design in with them, they're so classic looking with the box toes!
