TM r510 tp has a loose weight cartridge...
I had a problem with a 580XD TP I bought from a private party that was swingweighting at C8.5 at 45 1/2 inches. I called Taylor Made and they gave me a return authorization number to send it back to the TM custom department. I had the club cut to 45 inches and it will return a D2 swingweight. It costs me $30. I called them today and it shipped out Friday, so it was about 3 weeks door to door. So if you want it done right, send it to TM. Good luck. Mister 64

Taylor Made TP Weight Cartridge
Thanks Jon, TM offered me a return authorization number the other day but I told them I would try the Tour Van first. I will call them on Monday and send it back to the factory so I know it comes back just the way I want it. Thanks again for your help and suggestions. Mister 64

Taylor Made TP Weight Cartridge
The saga continues with my 580XD TP. I am playing it 45 1/2 inches at D0 with an NV75 S in it and having some control issues. I know some will say "get a lesson" but that is not the issue here. Evidently, this TP head has had the weight cartridge altered or lightened because with 76 gram shaft at 45 1/2 inches and only getting D0, something is going on. I called TM and they offered to give me a RA to send it in to them and have it spec'd out like I wanted. They could replace the weight cartridge, but it to 45 where I want it to be and get it to D2. Does anyone have any experience with this problem? Also, the TM Performance Van is going to be within 100 miles of me next week and TM said if they had the cartridge on the van, they could do the work. Suggestions? Mister 64

580 XD TP Shaft Suggestions
Thanks for the tips. I did decide yesterday to stick a NV75 in it. We mocked up the club three times using a Fuji 569, a Blue, and a NV75. The NV75 came out just above D0. The others came out in the C range. The head much be lighter than normal. I hit it this morning and it seems really easy to control. There was about a 2 club wind into my face but I could get it up and keep it low. I will try to get out and hit a real golf ball with it tomorrow and get some real results but so far much better than when I hit it the first time. If I cave the face, will TM warranty a tour only club? Thanks for all the replies.

580 XD TP Shaft Suggestions
I hit the 580XD TP I bought yesterday. I did not know the specs as far as swingweight and length when I bought it as I mainly wanted the clubhead. I played 18 holes with is and hit several balls on each tee. It has a larger sweetpot than my 510 TP and I might be a little longer. I am not sure yet as I did not control it well at all to my standards. After I hit it, I took it to a clubfitter and found out it was C8.5 and 45 1/2 inches long, with a light X flex. TOO LIGHT. I immediately had the shaft pulled. I am going to have it refinished to perfection, then reshaft it. The guy did not have a digital scale but what he had did read around 200 grams so I am hope to get those same D1 results.

580 XD TP Shaft Suggestions
I finally got my hands on a 580 XD TP but it's going to need a different shaft. I want to play it at 45 inches and D1 or D2. What has been your experience with reshafts on this clubhead and what kind of swingweight did you get? Thanks for your suggestions. Mister 64

Cleveland Comp or Taylor R580XD TP???
I didnt say I was getting rid of my TP Vokester. I still have the Mizuno Blue Rage also and will pull it out from time to time. I have my bag right where I want it at the moment. I just have a little "whoever dies with the most toys wins" stuck in me sometimes and like to try new things. I go to as many demo days as I can. Doesnt mean I wont play the club I hit the best. My game leveled out and stayed consistent when I finally guit monkey'n with my clubs. I have had 5 sets of irons in one season because I wanted a different lie, loft, or shaft. You think because you are a good ball striker that your learning curb is 0 but that is not true. Your clubs are like anything else. You have to get to know them even when you buy the SAME club you aready owned for 2 years. Short of being a pro and having a club maker hand you clubs to your EXACT specs, they are all different. Get clubs fit to your swing and abilities and stick with them for a while, give them a chance, before you jump into the next flavor of the month. How many folks bought a R7TP for above retail price, before they ever laid eyes on one, and are now reading our posts about what a good driver the Cleveland Comp is? THey are scratching their heads no doubt. There's not a driver on the planet that is $300 better than any driver any of us play that we hit well. Come on now........ :) What are your thoughts?

Cleveland Comp or Taylor R580XD TP???
Thanks. I will definitely keep the 510TP. I keep all the good ones, which to this point is only two; the TP and the best kept secret out there to me, a Mizuno Blue Rage 310, 8 degrees, Prolite Elite X, 45 1/2 inches. Take that crap Mizuno shaft out of a Blue Rage and put in something decent and it transforms into a bomber! All you budget watchers, go to Ebay and buy a 310 or 350 Blue Rage for $75, slap a YS6 or even and NV65 and hold on. Mister 64 TM 510TP, Harmon CB65X, 45" TM Mid TP, 16 degrees TM Mid TP, 19 degrees Mizuno MP30, 3-PW, DGS300 Mizuno MP wedges, 52,56 Odyssey 2-ball, center shafted, 33"

Cleveland Comp or Taylor R580XD TP???
I am playing a Taylor Made 510TP with a Harmon CB65X. Best driver I have ever played with. Thinking of buying something else for the upcoming season and am considering a Cleveland Comp and a Taylor 580XD TP. Those who have hit either or both please give me your opinion. Thanks, Mister 64 (and yes, 8 years ago, par 72, bogied 7 and 17, shot 64. Thank you very much)
