  2. Hey 10 Footer,

Noticed you have a set of MR-23 CB's along with many other sets. A golf rep for Bridgestone said he has a brand new set, still in plastic, of MR-23 Cb's and would sell them to me for like around $400. So, do you like them and do you think I should take the deal and get them.

    Thanks,

    Doc

Absolutely!!! I paid $560 for my mint set in February and had multiple offers after the auction finished. I bet you could make a couple/several of hundred dollars if you turned around and sold them the same day. They are a beautiful set but not too forgiving for a CB. Similar to the Taylor Made RAC CBs...plays a little more forgiving than a blade but nothing like other CBs. If you are a good ball striker and like a blade profile, these are what you are looking for. If you want a forgiving forged CB...not the best fit. Let me know if you buy them and want to sell them new!

I almost forgot, there are two models of MR 23 CBs. One with a checkerboard back (game improvement club) and the highly sought after MR 23 US spec CB.

  3. God bless you man (I have eight million sets myself) and going to pull the trigger tomorrow as well. Great deal; are they really big compared to the XCB's? Sweet looking in person? Thanks

I can't justify selling them because of the condition and the "rare" factor with some of the sets.

They are a great deal. Especially when you see the quality of the clubs in person. The faces are slightly larger than the '05 x blade cb but do not look big or overly large in anyway. As I said before very forgiving with better misses than the other sets I own (at least for my swing). I may reshaft them with NS 950 as I really like this shaft.

  4. "I will try to take some topline pics compared to my: MR 23 Blade, MR 23 CB, 2005 X-Blade CB, 2007 X-Blade CB, 2005 TM CB Japan...all mint BTW! "

:atsg_smilie_roll: This is crazy and you have all these sets at the sametime?

Unfortunately yes. And I forgot about the 201's. The X Blades are still in the original box. All sets are perfect except the '05 x blade cbs are my gamers. I will post a pic of the whole family in the "Import section".

  5. I just received my set yesterday!! Thanks to Chris and the Tour Spec Gang for getting my clubs shipped out in an amazing 3 days. I paid on Friday and played with them on Monday. These are the most forgiving forged CBs I have played. Definitely less offset and bigger face area than my '05-'06 X-Blade CBs.

I will try to take some topline pics compared to my: MR 23 Blade, MR 23 CB, 2005 X-Blade CB, 2007 X-Blade CB, 2005 TM CB Japan...all mint BTW!

  6. Great irons!  Thicker topline and more offset than the J33.  A Lot more forgiving than the 201s.  I think they are the most forgiving, softest cb on the market.  Definitely softer than Mp 32s (but feel is different because of the blade/cut).

The only problem is the offsett and thick topline.

Ebay seller Oddballer (in Hawaii) always has nice sets for +/-$500

To my eye the offset on the J33 Combos and X CBs looks pretty much the same? I own the Xs and have only seen/held the 33 Combo. so I might be a little off. Anyone confirm that the Xs have more offset than the 33 combos.?

If someone can post the pics, I would be happy to take side by side pics. Let me know....I will be back home on the 25th.

  8. I think there's a lot of folk round here who would take a roadkill CBS41 over a new retail bag anyday :blackeye:

I am not sure about the CBS41. I have had zipper problems on the main pocket since I got it from Japan. First bag I have ever had with a zipper problem. Very strange!!!

  9. It was a R5 TP that was given to you for jst $300?  WOW!!! They are woth so much more.

200-250 coming from Asia, heads only. ( I'm not Touching these even if they are the same thing as real )

What do you mean Chris??? Please explain.

  10. yea thats a cool article. somebody mentioned on GSC that this could be a rules violation. bc he put Nike ONE Gold on the ball that the platinum was not on the conforming list.

Somebody on a golf forum figured this out but all of the people (R&D, legal, etc.) at Nike Golf overlooked this possibility of a rules violation??? Very interesting  !!!
