Once again, USGA wants to kill technology
i don't thnk this article is cause for alarm in the equipment world, and certainly don't get the feeling that the usga is trying to restrict any equipment maker. maybe it's limiting in a way because they're saying any future product will be reviewed under these guidelines, so it could be seen as a warning against OEMs, but nothing as strong as what the poster says. i wouldn't necessarily call the usga's rules limitations. i mean every sport has to try and preserve its tradition but make sure that they don't hold back a modern athlete's natural abilities. golf, in my mind being one of the more traditional sports, just needs to make sure that equipment gets modernized at the same pace as the evolution in golfers/athletes and that a driver doesn't let an average joe with a crap swing dong one 300 yards. on the range, even the luckiest trajectile-challenged hacker has a hard time hitting one 250 even with a 460 cleveland, so there is ability involved. but if that same guy launches one over the fence repeatedly, with an inconsistent swing, then you have to visit ball/driver hotness. but get these guys on the course and do they have game/creativity to get out of the places their tee shots land? just venting. just seems like the usga equipment guidelines vs. manufacturers debate is misunderstood sometimes...

im almost positive there isnt a tour pro who has a "titleist" speeder. i could be wrong, but im certain thats just a retail shaft. if you check out the catalog here, you can see both shafts sorry could you post again.. was i supposed to see a catalog in your post? its above, on the main menu...the catalog for TSG found it, thanks... agree w/you - doubt that ernie would use a stock fuji off the shelf, but it's just tough to say for sure if he's using the tourspec just based on visuals b/c the new titleist speeder has the same graphic... point being both speeders look the same from far unless you specifically see the '757'. real question is does anyone know how much the upcharge is to have titleist install a real 757 speeder shaft?

what's the difference between the regular and tourspec graphics? if by regular you mean the titleist speeder, they've updated the titleist speeder to have the same graphics as a full tourspec fuji (at least from what i can tell in the 905 brochure)... the graphics we're talking about are the repeating 'fujikura' graphics near the top 8" of the shaft near the grip, right?

Any Pics of Titleist 660 & 695MB Forged Blade Prototypes
Have been hearing from various tour reports that the 660s will be coming out in August. Technically a bore thru, but phelps is right - it is intended more to manipulate weight/cg, much like the plug in the 905. Also Schaef, did you have a chance to catch Tommy Armour at Bay Hill? Would be awesome if you have any pics...

Any Pics of Titleist 660 & 695MB Forged Blade Prototypes
That would be sweet Schaef. Bore thru huh? Not sure how I feel about that, but if they look anything close to the Callaway X-Tours, should be pretty sweet. Don't usually like Cally shovels, but those Tours aren't bad. Almost feel like the bore thru would give you more stability/feel and less twisting. Anyone have opinions on the pros/cons of bore thru irons?

Any Pics of Titleist 660 & 695MB Forged Blade Prototypes
I've done all kinds of searches and have found info in japanese, but no pics of these prototypes. Does anyone have any pics from any tournaments? I've heard they've been played on tour in recent months...
