  1. I'm temporarily retired from the game. I hit a rut and instead of struggling thorough six hours of misery every weekend I've decide to lay off until I have a desire to get back out. I've decided that I don't have the inner fire to practice my butt off right now. I'd rather save the $100 bucks a week and spend it on other things, like peeler joints and pro's. I haven't touched a club in a couple of weeks and surprisingly haven't even thought about it. Maybe it's just the change in weather to 100 plus.

Ah come one - you only ran out of new iron sets to try - LOL

You and the gal pal should have a kid you sound ready - LOL

Maybe you feel that way because of a certain new neighbor - LOL

Lastly - move to the midwest - you will appreciate the time you have to play.

Seriously - good to hear from you - I thought you also went camping

  2. I hope evreyone is enjoying themselves.

Myself - I am happy to say that with the exception of going back to my Guage U.S. putter - I have not changed any club in my bag since May 1, 2005. It sems like an eternity- but I really feel set.

Played at Point O' Woods( home of the Western Am.) on Saturday and shot a crappy 88 with a 10 on a par 4. This is the second time in two rounds where I had a hole were I pumped two out of bounds off the tee on the same hole. Reflecting back I know figured it out that the next time it happens - to fully step back reposition and let go.

Surprisingly enough I came back on the back and shot a 40 with no birdies. For a hack like me that is a great 9.

Putter - I regripped my Guage Code M mallet - made the grip just slighly strong - and I mean just a hair. Well this putter came alive in my last two rounds - finally. Just need to continue practicing and playing.

  3. Help me...I've become obsessed with buying more golf stuff...driver..maybe..putter ?????????...probably as my driver is really behaving rather well and I haven't put a new putter in the bag for over a year...got this terrible twitch... :money:  :money:  :money: ....maybe one of the new Rossa Corza's just because it's new...although I've recently considered adding a Ping DOC 17 or 15 just to gross people out when I pull the putter out of the bag...anything that ugly is bound to have some psychologically damaging effects on not only the mental stability of an opponent but also his sperm count probably will go down as well... ..although a new driver would be interesting as well...I can't decide and I keep going to golf shops to check stuff out...I think I've relapsed...OMG...and I was so good for so long...haven't bought anything in over a month...I'm actually considering waiting for the new Callaway driver...I can't believe I said that...headed for the dark side...pray for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Buy my never compromised milled putter ?

You know I've thought about that..but I don't putt so good with anything but a mallet...did manage to scratch the itch by picking up a Tour Edge Exotic 15*...so we'll see how that plays ..when I was at the demo day it was the club I hit the best all day...am excited to see how it plays with the ZCom in it!!!!!!!!!...sorry about the putter...let me think about it some more....

Shoe PM me on the putter - I will make you a deal .

    PM sent..

  6. If I try to cut it I pull the heck out of it and if I try to hook it I block it. Help! .

The only solution....hit is straight !! ..I really like the G2 also, am thinking about putting one in the bag and sticking a wondershaft in it, Chris's rave about the AVIX have me thinking...which I need to quit doing as it gets expensive.

Andy, good to here your boys are liking the game..kids are always fun to watch and it's a great way to spend time with them...I need to hook up with you and Mac for a round somewhere..shall make the time to drop into chat soon..

Played Sunday..the slickest 43-37 you ever saw...hit 5 drives in a row that I couldn't find   ..even with 3 pairs of eyes...they were not that wild just through the first cut into the fescue and good bye..had me so flustered I forgot how to putt on a couple of holes...even with the 30mph wind it was fun...on 10, a 569 par 5, I hit driver, 4 wood, 4 wood just to get to the green :surprize: !....off to try my skills again this morning..

Hope ya'all have a good week...enjoy the trip Lance..I heard it's HOT HOT HOT down that way...

Shoe - we need to set something up. But beleive it or not it is looking like mid-July. I just volunteered to go to Scout camp this year. That means a week of sleeping in a tent. The stuff I do for my kids. :surprize:

As it relates to drivers I am still loving the R7 TP. You should really give an R7 a try they are coming down in price.

As to play - my round got cancelled for today

Rain is on the way - what else is new - Memeorial Day weekend is around the corner - god forbid if it is not cold and rainy. :wah:

  7. Did not play this weekend but managed some time with the boys at the range yesterday - my 8 year old is just smacking it. Fun to see the boys wanting to spend more time at the putting green than at the range.

Anyway contemplating reshafting my Mp-37's with PX. Not sure why just cannot leave well enough alone. When I was hitting my Z's I was like 5 yards longer with PX over DGS300. But I am hitting my MP -37's aa club longer than my Z101's as is.

What do you boys suggest ?

  8. Now wait a minute Andy....I must share my history with irons:

    1) TM300 for 4 years

    2) TS Z101 for a couple of months that I traded to you for your TM300 that I sold...only used them on the range

    3) King Cobra Forged ss since last July/August

    4) Mizuno MP32 that you are working on that have not seen the course yet. In 5-6 years I have only had three sets...

and how many shafts have you gone through this month.

660 TR has been in for a while and staying.

Bag is pretty much set - still debating on irons shafts - will see after I try the S400's in a set of 32's

  9. Andrew- The Z's are going to be taking a little break in the corner for a while. Got a set of TA-2's to drive around the block, actually two sets but we don't need to talk about it. One tour, one retail for comparison sakes. The tours should be in my hand today. Hope you guys are sitting down for this, I might actually go practice today. The wind was blowing at 50 MPH yesterday, brutal.

"Andrew" - Very formal this fine day. I never hit the Cleveland irons if they are anything like the wedges - you should be in business.

Anyway- I played again this morning - played good on the front until the guy I was playin with dragged me down for the last few holes.

Anyone else have this problem ?- it happened to me Sunday also - where I have a hard time staying in my groove when the other guy is hacking around.

  10. Mike - BBQ should be at the top of the list - hopefully it is a Weber or Brinkman.

Played like crap yesterday - I deserved it - drank to many bourbons on Saturday night.

Is anyone still playing Z101's ? :rough:

    Laccy ? Anyone ?

Don't have those brands up here Andy . Actually have only heard about the Weber and not the Brinkman .

Mine is a Thermos , with a side burner and a rotissorie (sp) ? .

Actually it is quite nice

I take it is gas - smoke box ? If not soak some wood chips and wrap in tin foil - gives food some flavor. Also get Stev Reichlem's book - "How to Grill" best $20.00 you will spend.
