Offset is measured from the leading edge of the hosel to the leading edge of the face. This is the most common method that is used by most golf manufactures…but there is a problem with this. While it is assumed by many that offset is a uniform measurement, it is not. Different manufacturers have different hosel widths. So, two clubs with the same “offset” could have different offset measurements. Confused yet? Face Progression is the uniform way to measure “offset.” Face Progression is measured from the center of the hosel to the leading edge of the face.
