paypal is one reason I bought loads of ebay stock a while back. Unfortunately (or fortunately for my ebay stock holdings), the network effect is in play with paypal and its hard to beat from that perspective.... ultimately, it will be up against the VISA/ Mastercard network.....because of the cross country feature....
I can pay by credit card to Chris....but will I pay by credit card to anybody else on this site or another site.... NO.... because of the anonymity factor with paypal it works, i dont have to worry about my credit card details being with a person I dont know....also, can I accept credit cards for any of the for sale listings.... NO, because I am not a merchant..... Paypal works beautifully there///
So Paypal is going to be around... and it should get only stronger over time.....

Welcome to the Club!
I wanted to update those who were interested as I had my first round with the Roddio today.Just some background for all you "spec-heads." Before the Roddio, my club was the Epon 9.5° at 1° open. AxivV 8076 shaft at 45.75", cpm = 258. I hit that club very well but I wanted to take the left side away. You see, for me, the AxivV wasn't completely anti-left as it claimed. Still a very, very good shaft and one which I loved but I was seeking something just a little better.
Chris installed a Roddio W-8WA in stiff flex. I told him I wanted the Roddio to be as stiff as the AxivV if not a little more. In order to do this Chris had to make the current driver at 45", tipped 10mm and cpm at 259. According to Chris this plays to an s-x flex. At 270 cpms one is reaching beyond X. If needed I still have room to tip more in case I need more later on.
So anyways, on to the round. Mind you, I want to take some time to get to "know" this shaft but I came away from today very, very impressed.
One thing which is very apparent right away is that this shaft is much tighter than the AxivV. The left side is not nearly as much an issue with the Roddio as it was with the AxivV. I feel that I can really go at it if I want and have no fear of losing it left. Ball flight is tighter as well as the dispersion. Distance is longer by about 7,8 yards but I really can't say until a few more rounds. My feeling is that once I become more comfortable with this shaft, distance gain will be even more. Trajectory is definitely better, a little lower and staighter which will give me more roll. Played a local course which doesn't get a whole lot of roll but I can tell when I get the harder/faster courses in the desert, roll will be huge.
I'm holding judgement on this shaft for now because its still all too new, but I'm very happy that I made the switch and Chris did an outstanding job delivering to me a club which fits me even better than the one I just had. If you are thinking about a Roddio, by all means decide what you're looking for and be honest with your stats and I know Chris will be able to get very close to what you're seeking.
The only negative is that I'm not completely sold on the white on the top of the shaft. It was a little distracting to me upon set-up, but I'm sure over time that won't be an issue. The two-tone does look cool, its just the white color is a little more prominent and could take your eye away from the ball. We'll see how that goes.
I'll write more later after more time with this shaft, but I can tell you based upon the tightness of the shots alone, this Roddio already has the edge over the AxivV at least for me. I'll also mention that with the Roddio, I don't feel I could overswing it. The AxivV I never swung hard at because the results weren't as good as I felt I would overpower it a little. The AxivV was great at smooth swings. The Roddio, you can get more aggressive if you want and still keep it in control. Thanks for reading and I hope this offers a little more insight.

Did not get fitted by tourspecgirl. However, I extensively read her recommendation on both the AXIV shaft and the Roddio shaft based on forum members swing speed and there characteristic. I just made my best guess based on cumulative knowledge and the shaft availability. I was actually debating on the W-5BA shaft originally but it was out of stock per Chris. So I had to pick one of the 6WA vs 6BA. I picked the higher launch 10.5 degree Epon 460ZR head and basically married to lower spin shaft which is the 6WA. If I picked the 9.5 degree head I would have went with the higher spinning 6BA shaft. So I went for the higher lauch with lower spin combo in my mind. Also, I wanted to take the left side out of play because for me I don't mind a shot that is pushed to the right but I hate the filling if I pull one to the left. My bad tee shot is when I launch it low to the left. My best shot in my mind is a mid to high flying with straight or slightly fading trajectory. When I am really on and if I trust the shaft, I will get aggressive on my tee shot at times. My swing speed average is about 90-95 on the launch monitor whenever I test it. My tempo is probably average but I am aggressive through the ball. I have less wrist lag but I am currently actively working on hinging more aggressively. This is why I chose the lower flex rating at SR rating. My only concern is weather I should ask chris for even slightly softer mounting than the standard SR rating - maybe 1/4 flex softer if there is such a thing to sweeten the shaft to sweet spot of my average driver speed. Any comment?
i was recommended the SR 6wa flex, but went with the stiff flex for a tighter dipersion... but the combo turned out to be really long with the tight dispersion..... in every round there are 3-4 drives nowadays that are touching the 290-300 yard marks with most around 270-280 yards... i realized one of the reasons was that because of the increased confidence that the drive is going to be long, I now hold the club loose and dont try to rip it to get a few extra yards.... the more i do that, the moe yards I get... interesting, isn't it.....

Just Ordered Epon 460ZR 10.5 degree with Roddio W-6WA SR flex club in 45.75 inch final length from Chris. With all the hype of Epon and Roddio shaft I decided my first venture into TSG premium brand will be the Ultimate driver endorsed by this website. Since I wanted left side out of play and my swing speed is only about 90-95 miles/hr on the average by a launch monitor I decided to go with the SR flex in the W-6WA roddio shaft. Hope I made the right decision. If this club delivers than I will definitely be venturing into more epon stuff such as woods and irons and wedges even. For my investment sake I hope I will be epon for life as well. I am totally psyched!!!
did you get fitted with tourspecgirl....the right roddio, also depends on tempo, wrist lag etc....

another round...... and i broke 80 for the first time......and I have to say, Boy! What a difference it makes 20-30 yards further down and in the fairway with drive...... I was hitting on average about 2 clubs less than what I used to hit.....and I think thats the reason I found the green almost every time with my approach.....
I dont think any other single club has ever made such a difference to my game as the Roddio + Epon has......
Given that all of the people on this site are club ho's (and if not, atleast keenly interested in improving their scores)...... try the roddio with the Epon......and then thank me:

Ajay, I may have asked before but what is your swing speed with the driver. The Roddio is definetly getting some wraps.
This may be a go for me, just need to get the right one for a swing speed of 105mph.
I am not sure....I have been on a golfsmith Monitor a year earlier and it was around 100 mph with some as low as 95 mph and some a bit more........but since then I have discovered that those monitors are a hit and misss (sometimes right, sometimes not)..... Unfortunately, there are not many options for launch monitors where I live.
BTW, tourspecgirl can get you fitted....if you have your stats.... Also, tempo has a lot to do with roddio fitting. I tend to be fast.... and an aggressive transition down and through.....and the WA fits that profile. for somoother swings, I believe the BA is the way to go...

Please PM me with what you have...... want to buy it so that I could pit it against the G field and the Epon Technity to see which one rules......
I am ok with any loft for the 3 wood, 13* or 14* or 15*
Only looking for the Type H2 model.....
Thanks.

Ball flight was a bit lower, even into the wind it seemed to penetrate a bit better.
I have had a few more rounds under my belt with th Roddio......Ball flight is like a bullet that stays at a constant height and then rolls well after landing. My trademark goto shot is a low shot that is maybe 10-15 ft above ground and and then rolls for 30-40 yards. With the rioddio, this shot flies like 240-245 yards (previously, it used to be 200-210 yards carry on average) and I think its because of the roddio kick that it just propels the ball forward.....
When I want to just hoist the ball up in the air (for downwind shots or where I do not want too much roll for guaranteed in the fairway), the ball justs gets thrusted up and it stays there at that for a long time..
I hav several holes that are 430-450 yards par 4s and I usually used to hit a #3 hybrid into these greens, Now I am hitting 6/7 irons.... Its fr,,,k,,ing beautiful.....

Once again I find myself in agreement with your views, my driver shaft at 62 gms ( Axiv V 6070) feels too light, my 3 wood has a heavier, stiffer shaft as does my hybrid/utility and I much prefer the feel and balance of the heavier clubs, possibly because my swing is relatively slow and smooth. The trend towards heavier shafts in FW's and Hybrids started when Driver heads started to grow beyond the 300cc mark, which resulted in significantly heavier head weights, so it was nescesary to reduce shaft weights to bring the overall SW down. In this age of ultra light Titanium driver heads, with changeable weights, the need for ultra light shafts may not be as important!
I am contemplating going to a heavier driver shaft, as I am getting better results from my three wood than from my driver, has anyone else experience of this?
I have experimented with different weight shafts in the driver - 50sm 60s, 70s, 80s and also with different flexes. After a lot of experimentation, I have found that going with a heavy shaft allows you to ease up on the flex, however it is not as accurate, if I go heavy and maintain the flex, its accurate, but responsiveness and length suffer. End result, A high 60s weight with a stiff flex works best for me. If go in the high 70s/low 80s, then I could get almost similar results (but not quite as good) with a SR flex.

I dont have the epons, but have the zodias KM tour, vokeys, gft wedges, gas II and gas I.
For me what I look for in a wedge is precision (as i need little or no forgiveness within 100-120 yards) and I think the Zodia KM tour is a great wedge. compact, but cuts through the turf/rough and helps me to dial in a distance. And I can spin it or release it at will.
I will rate the zodia better than the gauge wedges (although I have to admit I like the GFT wedges a lot too) and the vokeys. I probably will be skipping the Epons straight to Carlton's offering. In the meantime, I have a yururi 61* on order.

Just noticed that G-Field fairway woods are back in the Pro Shop. Anybody have any reviews?
The gfield fairway woods are very classy looking(steel) and plain and sit square. I have the 3 wood with the Pt-7 Stiff (the 5 /7 wood are with the clubmaker). For me, this is my go-to in fairway 240 yards out club. Off the turf, I know I can launch it high (the rails help, i guess, so does the shallower face) and hit a green 225-235 yards out. I have been able to hit low stingers with the club as well as hit it high and soft when I did not the ball to roll much.
The other day I hit a couple of 270+ yard drives with it, but my typical drive is 240 yards.
from the rough as well as the fairway, its easy to launch the ball high, crucial to get max carry. I have had some ballooning effect from deep rough (4+ inches rough) and i think its primarily because i was aggressive in going after the ball and had a steeper swing (my nemesis with the woods).
A lot of the above is probably because of the combo Gfield head+ PT-7 shaft.
If you have naturally high ball flight or you are looking for just off the tee, consider the EPON too (on my list), but if you are looking for a versatile club for both off the tee + fairway + rough (light) or sitting up in the rough, then consider this club. You will be pleased. Other option could be the royal collection Type H II.

Not to stoke the fires of hype any further, but; after hitting many shots into the net at home I'm liking the feel of the Roddio immensely. Its like the AxivV in that it supports the swing throughout the entire swing. At impact I think its more solid than the AxivV. Definitely less vibration through the hitting zone. Ball seems to rocket off the face. I can't wait until this next set of 8 work days is over and then I'll be able to put some serious time in with it.
This club "feels" better than the AxivV but until I get out there won't be able to tell you anything about performance. The feel, though; is just excellent!
Welcome to the Roddio world. your initial comments mirror what i have been feeling over the last few rounds. I have never played the Axiv, but can't believe anything could be as good as the Roddio.

D- 67g Roddio 6WA stiff
3 - 72 g PT-7 Stiff
U - 85g - UT-85 stiff
previously i had D- 75g, 3- 85g, U- 100 (All v2)
I tend to chose the shaft and am ok with a weight within a range - D- 65-75, 3 -70-85 U - 85-100. More important is which shaft feels right in terms of feel, responsiveness etc. weight is secondary

thank you....but I need more info than that before I throw down the dough... I'm being greedy i know- but what I have with the Axiv is soo stinking good..
I posted my impressions of the EPON + Roddio earlier this evening after my first round in another post. All I can tell you is that 9/10 drives were in the fairway and much further up the hole than I have ever been. I even tried going after it and the shaft handled it with ease without spraying. The shaft has a tremendous kick, but it feels very controlled and its long.
Feel free to ask any questions and I will answer from my experience. As for whether it beats the AXIV, I have no clue as i never played the AXIV (My gues is that it probably does
) .

I'm currently hitting the 7072V in a ft-5 and haven't seen a longer more consistant ball ever with a need ideal ballflight....
So... is it possible to get it even better????( mind you have tested and tried an amazing amount of shafts from every different brand, style and favor-- tour and import)
and the Axiv V's are simply awesome....
how would the Roddio compare and anyone who has had both, please pipe in!!
thanks
josh
Never tried the Axiv. But have tried others, but the Roddio rocks (I have it in the EPON 460) and I have not seen a longer, more responsive, tight dispersion shaft. If you are thinking of the Roddio, take the plunge. and thank me for it.

Its an individual thing. However, if you want to hold a green (thats reasonably fast) from 200 yards, a #20/21 hybrid is probably better than a 7 wood or the 3 iron and you can hit the green from the fairway or the rough, even midly deep rough.
I never understood the 3 wood, 4 wood, 7 wood combo as the distance difference between the 3 wood and 4 wood is probably 10-20 yards. I am not sure what the 4 wood can do that the 3 wood can't or vice versia.
have you guys tried the 3 wood, 5 wood/#2, #20/21 hybrid (or 3 iron of using the #2 hybrid)? If yes, what made you chose the 3, 4, 7 combo.

im gonna have to disagree with you on that one........i had a tour issued ft3 and it was the longest club i have ever owned.....i would say it is a good 15 yards longer than my epon 460 !!!! however the epon feels better, sounds better, is more forgiving and way more accurate.....i could hit the ft3 long but it was a nightmare on tight courses....the epon is in my opinion a perfect blend of driver !!!! it does everything great but distance is however not exceptional.....i have 4 epons at home right now .....i am a huge fan of the epon 460zr !!!!!!!
Usually the longest drive are the ones that end up in the fairway or close to it ...not when the ball is in deep rough or in the woods.

Thanks gocchin you are everywhere!!! I love your advatar!
I read lots of your post on this forum so I know how helpful and informative you are.
I am 5'2" and have been playing 1/2 inch short and 3 degree flat on my Mizuno MP 33 in 5.5 rifle shaft. It was a set up that Mizuno turck rep set me up after demoing club at an outdoor range since about 7yrs ago or so. I have tried various cavity back such as titleist 760, mizuno MX-23, and callaway x-tour in different shaft configuration such as stock graphite shaft in my tetleist in stiff, rifle project x 5.0 on mizuno, and s300 stiff on callaway. I always seem to go back to my Mizuno MP 33 for my gamer, however. That is why I am currently in search of new irons and this site I found by accident interested me in the Japanese premium line. I am looking for the club that can replace my MP 33 club. I do find my 5.5 rifle very stable when playing well feeling the flex and all but I seem to always be between regular and stiff whenever I have my swing analyzed by recommendation and seem that I can go either way depending on spec of that specific shaft. That is why I am trying to determine which shaft and flex to try especially in the NS Pro line versus Shimada steel. Currently 950 vs 1050 vs 1150 vs regular or stiff.
Thanks!!!
As someone who used to play MP 33s (in fact I have a brand new set stored given that they are no longer produced), I will suggest go with the Blades, Tourstage, fourteen blades, Miura blades, possibly scratch and the EPON type J, Epon apparently considers that a blade(the type J are the only ones that I have not played).
Between the Mp 33 and my current Miura/Tourstage blades, I went the premium CB route and ended up always yearning for a blade in my hand. I hit the Blades really well (including the 3 iron) and the premium CBs although good, to me they had less feel. But then again, I just got a set of gauge handmades (only played one round with them, so still to firm up an opinion on them).
The feel and sound of JDM Drivers

In my view, feel is overrated. Whats important is whether you are in the fairway 250+ yards out.
If the worst looking, deadest sounding driver did that for me, I will be playing it. I want to score low. period.
Having said that, my EPON + Roddio is having the best results for me in terms of fairway and 250+ yards distance..... added bonus is that it sounds good, feels good. But if the former got afffected, it will be replaced in no time without a thought for its feel/sound.
Gocchin, your post was helpful to me.... feels like there is no reason for me to try any other driver as the Epon ranks so high compared to all the other I have never tried..
