Taylormade R7 XR
Hi fellow golf geeks out there, I recently bought a Taylormade R7 XR 10.5*, with the REAX XR stiff shaft. After playing with it for a couple of rounds, it seems that the trajectory quite high, about 18-19* launch angle, and backspin is really high, almost no roll whatsoever. It feels like when I bomb one out there, the flight is nice, but just stops on a dime when it lands. My swing speed is around 102-105, and this shaft weighs in at only 47 grams, but i've played with 60-75 grams shafts before. When i get aggressive, the ball will faaaaaaaddddddeeeee!! Cannot get the shaft to load properly, is it too soft? I bought it using a launch monitor, and it was fine. Just would like your opinions on a shaft that would fit this head quite well, bring the launch to about 15*, and one with more roll when it lands. (oh, can i tip the re-ax xr shaft to 45 inches from 45.5 to get better results, or will that screw up the way its supposed to be played?) Thanx for any comments ,,,...,,,

Final Decision
Blader-X, I will still be using the xblades, and I love them, don't get me wrong. These are great, i just want a player's cb that is not too difficult to hit. About the ns950, its hard to explain the feeling. The lightweight shaft makes it really easy to just walk in and swing at the ball. Unlike heavier DGs and Rifles, you really have to "work" the shaft to make the ball go where you want, and you can't easy swing it like the 950. Hope you know what I mean. The X-blades have a little, I mean very little clicky feel to them, similar to the Epons, IMO, but not the fourteens. You really have to hit them side by side to feel it. IMO, the x-blades give the best feel when you perfectly flush a shot, perhaps maybe because its an mb blade. The epon is dead solid, i think someone referred them to a sledgehammer, and it felt like that. Distance is okay. Fourteens are longer, maybe due to stronger lofts. Fourteens are probably the softest, i think, and the aesthetics and you align the club is unreal, you just want to hit them again and again. I am trying to get chris to help me decide on these choices too. Hope this helps

Final Decision
After reading comments and opinions posted by other members on a similar topic (thanks by the way), i have narrowed my choices to the epon type j and the tc770 forged. I demoed both today, and hit about 20 balls each, both with NS 950GH shafts. I feel that both are soft, and i assume that both have the NiCr finish? JUst want to know what you guys think about these two options, and if there are other shafts I should look into. I currently use the X-blade 2 with the 1150, and wondering if the epon and fourteen would do well with these shafts as well. Thanks for any inputs.

Butter?
Epons, Miura, Custom Mizzies, Fourteen feel like butter? Do they really go that soft? Is it a question of each individual's tastes and ability? I think that Madball said that the Fourteens are the best feeling he has ever played. I hope he's right, I want one of those TC770 Forged soon. Your opinions and will be greatly appreciated on the soft, buttery, muted sound of forged clubs, and which one that made you say "Oh my... Sweet" after you perfectly hit a flush shot.

TC770
Blader-X, it seems like we share the same tastes in irons (x-blade 2). I bought mine about 2 months ago, previously using the ping I3 blades, and the feeling is so much different. I am new to the golf equipment hype, pretty much a feel player and never really crazy about golf equipment until now. Many TSG posters on this forum seem to know their stuff quite well, perhaps some has tried over hundreds of irons. It seems that many say that Tourstage forged by Endo is clicky more than soft. When i flush the x-blade 2, it just sounds so smooth and muted. Do you agree with me, or in your opinion is our irons more clicky than the epons or miuras? I have tried only a few forged irons from Titty, mizzy, epon, and miura, and i can't say that the tourstage forges are clicky. What are your views?

TC770
$700 cheaper? This is starting to get very interesting. For a set of 3-Pw THAT IS A COOL DEAL! So i can order the length, lie, shaft, grip and all the specs of the clubs? I have little experience with overseas shipping costs and taxes, but at that much cheaper, transportation costs shouldn't be a problem. To let you know, i am very interested, and i will demo these out soon, and tell you what i think. Can i contact you personally, (excuse my ignorance, whats pm?). My email is [email protected] . ( just looking at the clubs at a local fourteen shop makes me wanna steal them!). The dealer says that i have to wait about a week or so, until the demo comes in from japan, so i will let you know. Thanks a lot

Sigh... Your inputs on the quality of these irons are going to cost me money. Look what you've done! I didn't realize TSG has the forged 770 in the pro shop. Can you order them cheaper than $1700 for an 8 club set? I really have to demo these, and compare it to the CB1006 and see how it goes. Really want to "feel" these clubs on the range. Thanx

TC770
Is it true that the new Fourteen TC770 forged is not as quality forged as those of miura or tourstage? I have heard that their forging process does not make them buttery, but more clicky? It is quite expensive (3-PW in Thailand is around $1700.) Can anyone that's hit them shed some light on these irons. IMO, they do look stunning though. BTW, Royal Collections CV101 is a real treat, tried them today, one of the softest cast irons i've hit. you guys should try em out.

Mizzy Customs
I am a brand new member of tourspec golf. I hear a lot of raves about the custom mizzies. Are they better than retail because of custom fitting, or are the materials and detail much better too. I really am considering these. Would love your inputs.
