So far, in the awesome spring the northeast has had, I have been hitting it pretty well, but I have a problem with the driver. First off, the combo is a Callaway X460 with a Diamana 63 Blue Band Stiff. I am carrying it about 260 in 35 degree weather with beat up range balls, which as Borat says "very nice". But I am in such control of my swing, I can really speed it up, and hit it dead square on the face. While doing this, the ball flys dead straight BUT (here's the issue) is a damn balloon ball, and just drops with no carry period. Right now I'm in the search for the right driver, I'm going with the Nike SQ Tour head. But I don't know which degree, I still think I can hit a 8.5 with a shaft that has a mid/low kick point that will give me a great flight, but these days, it's high loft, low spin. So I'm thinking 9.5 to 10.5 in the head, but should I get a shaft with high kickpoint, there fore giving me a lower flight off the tee that will be more boring? There is so much information out there now it is confusing. I am looking for an expensive upgrade in shafts (Diamana, AXIV-V, Roddio). What I really really want is more distance to go with my swing and build, I'm thinking a lower weighted shaft, mid kickpoint, mid torque, SR flex, but I'm not sure. I want to be able to go after the ball without worrying about it snapping left or ballooning. Any help? It seems there are a ton of opinions out there with a gluttony of information. Cliffnotes of Post: Using Callaway X460 Diamana Want a Nike SQ Tour head 10.5 Loves lighter shafts Needs more distance Wants ability to go after it without ballooning
  2. The driving debate continues. Not too many Americans have had a chance to play this high end Japanese equip, but I'm sure that many of the posters here have tried the FT-3, 5, Sumo, SQ, SuperQuad, etc. Is this absolutely beautiful EPON driver or Tour Stage better than those in regards to distance or feel? I wanted to put a RODDIO in my Nike SQ Tour, but the gentleman said no, I'm still not sure why. So I guess to take advantage of this great shaft I have to play a Japanese head. Are these heads better than their American counterparts? I'm hitting the ball nasty right now, and want to get as much distance as I can, I max out at about 290 after a nice roll etc with a Callaway X460 9 degree with a 63 Diamana. It produces too much spin though, I can tell the flight can be better, higher launch with less spin (hence my wanting to switch to a Roddio) any help?
  3. Actually it wasn't a R flex shaft, it was a ladies flex Pink Aldila, I didn't want to embarass myself, but it was a Aldila Pink NV 55 - L, and sadly I loved it distance wise. I am looking for something similar, weight, torque and distance wise, but possibly a higher quality shaft for better shot dispersion Really for me its down to the: AXIV-V early 6000's, late 5000's series OR RODDIO 6WA or 6BA
  4. A torque of 3.0-4.5 closer to the higher end of the scale. A ball speed of 165mph with get this an Alida 55g weak shaft. Loved it's flight. I don't know my swing speed, I would guestimate that is about 100mph. Smooth one plane swing with an aggressive wrist release at impact. Generate a lot of distance due to shoulder turn, swing is very similar to Tiger/Adam Scott. Right now I'm looking at the Roddio 6WA (R/S) AXIV-V 6062 (R/S) OZIK I have no Idea, but I do see some amazing shafts by them I'm looking for a nice deal but most importantly more distance, that's why the Roddio intrigues me so much, the 6 shaft test really made the Roddio stand out!
  5. Really, this is starting to drive me crazy, i want to make the financial plunge into one of these. I am placing the 10.5 SQ Tour model Nike head on the driver. I would like something with the best feel, high torque, low/mid launch, R/S stiffness in a 55-65g, but something I can go after and not worry about completely losing control. I know it's asking for a lot, but I can not get access to trying these super shafts. So that's why I need your help. Which one is seems like the best fit. I need more distance, more carry, less spin. After looking at the driver tests done by the one website, it seems the Roddio is my best bet, low spin more distance. HELP ME!
  6. Price on the DFI? I'm very interested!
