I've had sets that step down the PW by 1/4" & 1/2" - trying to set my SW to the same length. Thanks! .....am i missing something here :-D
Guest
I missed something!!!!!! :D My set originally had TFR 6.5 and was built to a requested 37.75 5 iron. Here are the length of the shaft pullouts without Grips 3- 37 1/2 4 - 37 1/4 5 - 36 3/4 6 - 36 1/4 7 - 35 3/4 8 - 35 1/4 9 - 34 2/3 PW - 34 1/2 So I would say the PW was 35.25 inches long

I'm assuming you meant 34=35, 35=36, etc. Figured w/ the jacked up lofts they would probably mess with the lengths as well. Some different progressions between the 3&4, 8&9, 9&PW. Guest
Your welome. The shaft lengths I listed were raw without grip. A grip will add about 1/4 inch to the length of a raw shaft. The rest was just math. Most sets that are based on finished 37.75 5 iron are: 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 PW 38.75 38.25 37.75 37.25 36.75 36.25 35.75 35.5 Just as you referenced, A 1/4 inch difference between the PW-9 and then 1/2 up. That is the normal "standard" on most oems likeTitleist and TM, etc. The measurements of my raw shafts are accurate. Who knows if that's they way Gauge does it or somebody was having a bad day putting the clubs together. On all the sites that sell Gauge, I have yet to find one that listed anything other than finished 5 iron. Probably the best thing to do is have your PW measured to make sure so you can have your other wedges spec'd to the same length like you desire. Good Luck!
