Posted October 6, 200420 yr OK I am getting my MR-23cbs reworked and I need to strip the chrome and copper. Would I loose any softness by leaving the copper off? I have a great idea but I don't want to loose that feel. Is the copper just for the chrome or does it soften the feel? Thanks Matt
October 6, 200420 yr From what I understand copper softens the feel. I'm curious how much more it is to add the copper layer though. I'm thinking of picking up a used set of tn87s and doing the same thing.
October 6, 200420 yr The TN87 should have the copper already. Yeah, it does. But want to rechrome a set and what I've been told is the process will take the copper off as well.

October 7, 200420 yr Copper is softer than raw... no question about it. Are you sure?? The copper then gets chromed! I have had some really nice raw stuff, Zodia wedges ect.. The MR-23s should be a very soft casting! I'm thinking of doing a Black Oxide coating to them, Like the black Ox Wedges from Mizuno. I would love to get some more opinions
