Scotty Cammeron Studio Design going rusty. Re Finishing ?

If you send it to Titleist via your pro shop, it should cost around $80 more or less. It will includes new headcover, new shaft, new shaft label, and new Titleist grip. But I heard that www.ScottyCameron.com will open their refinishing dept (separate from Titleist) and will allow some different finishes, you might want to wait for it.

My Scotty Cameron Studio Design 1 is going rusty . It has a black gun metal finish. I am thinking of getting it refinished . Is this a thing a club maker does or do you have to send it back to Titleist to have it done. What should it cost? Thanks

If its the original gun blue finish, you can soak it in coke and then apply a gun blue solution to it. Just takes a visit down to a gunsmith store or Walmart. You can also check to see what they have to remove rust and restore the finish before stripping the head completely as well. Also there is Titelist, or 3rd party guys like, Black Oxide or Kevin Colbert at Putterplating.com

I wouldn't send it to be powder coated, the milling marks don't quite look right afterwards.

I have heard very good things about Black Oxide. Thinking about sending them a Newport 2.5. Where are they located? Does anyone have contact info for them?

Thanks
