My former golf instructor has moved down south. I'm looking for recommendations for a golf instructor in the Metro Detroit area. I'm in Farmington Hills, but am willing to go north, south, east or west for a quality, dedicated instructor.

Specifically, I'm looking for someone who does not focus on quick fix instruction, but is willing to work with a student dedicated to bringing their skills up and handicap down.

Recommendation are really appreciated. Also, feedback on your personal experience is appreciated.

There is a very good instructor at C.J. Barrymore's on hall road. His name is Mark Reason. I have been getting lessons from him for almost a year now and have dropped ten strokes. Be advised, his methods are made for the long haul, you probably won't see results right away, but if you stick with him you will be rewarded.

if you have any questions feel free to pm me or post or email.

My previous instructor was a gentleman named Chris Carr.

I highly recomend Bill Baldwin, used to be at Franklin Hills. Great instructor, played in the US Senior last year and takes lessons himself from Haney. However, I can't seem to locate him anymore. Good luck
