i was wondering what you think of these two shafts for my driver

Give us a couple of hints about your profile (or are we to guess :whistle: ).

Swing speed, swinger/hitter, low launch/high launch, transition, fader/drawer, boxers/y-fronts ? :wink:

high hitter avg about 250 i have a cobra SS350 10.5* and its a regular shaft, sometimes i hook it and push to the right avg swing speed is 100-105

My take:

I was not a huge fan of the Blue for amateurs. I think that shaft is really aimed squarely at the pro's. Dont get me wrong, lots of guys play it but I think its a fairly demanding shaft. If you played an R in the stock Cobra (made by Aldila?), the R in the Blue may still be too stiff for you. But your swing speed suggests an R in the blue would be fine. Its real advantage is that it keeps the ball in a narrow dispersion range. But if a player finds it hard to load, this may result in low ropes that dont go very far. I think this is why the Pro Launch came out. That shaft is gaining much broader acceptance amongst amateurs. You might want to consider this one ahead of the Blue. Plus you would handle a tipped R or S in this no problem.

The HTD, whilst it went through a phase of high usage by Tour pro's, is a fairly forgiving shaft and suitable to many levels in my opinion. There are two types so I am not sure which you are referring to. The GX range is the more 'amateur' shaft. The CB range, more used by better players. I hit the GX in te past. Easy enough to load, fairly predicatable shot patterns, I would go for this or the CB ahead of the Blue certainly but maybe give the PL a shot too.

Oy agree with bigdawg's choice but for simpler reasons or maybe more simplistic. The blue feels boardy to me while the Harmon CB shafts even in an X flex have more feel through impact from the softer tip section.

You may reconsider all of that if you go to golftodaymagazine.com click on the columns section and check out Leith Anderson's eqt. chronicles. "Finding the magic driver" I think you'll find this pretty interesting. Also, don't forget to check out the (past issues) he definitely did some interesting experiments. Anyway just some good food for thought.
