Went to Nike Demo yesterday.

I went to Nike Demo day yesterday and tried several of their latest products. Here is what I can share briefly with you guys.

1. The Nike Ignite Driver DFI is really hot and very easy to hit. It has composite crown and is shafted with Ignite Mitsubishi Diamana. I tried the 460cc head and liked it very much. The impact sound is loud and clear which is very different from most composite-top drivers which has dull impact sound. It actually sounds very close to an all-titanium driver. The clubface is very large and deep. A Nike sale rep told me that its COR at sweetspot was 0.89 and 0.86 average all over the face. I doubt that though.

2. The T-100 Utility shafted with stock Nike by Fujikura is also a very sweet club, producing a very high trajectory - higher than most utilities I had tried. I guess that fits hicappers well and makes it a wise choice for getting out of the rough and holding the green. However, you might want to opt out of it under windy conditions.

3. The Pro Combo 2 OS irons are good and quite easy to hit. Though they look pretty handsome and are made from premium forged steel, I have found them to be just so-so in the feel category and less user-friendly than normal callaway irons.

4. The Nike SV wedges are just so-so too. IMO, you'd be better off with Vokey and Cleveland.

5. The Ignite T-60 fairway wood is also a great improvement from their previous T-40 line. Bigger club face, more sole weighted. Feel and sound have been greatly improved.

Have fun.

Tigernu,

I believe it was officially released on that Demo day actually. I'm not sure about the price because I was busy trying all the equipment available, but expect something well over 20,000 THB (that means more than 500 USD for you folks out there).

I haven't tried the original Ignite just yet, but was told that it was not so user friendly and not suitable for hicappers. So, I don't think I can really give you a good comparison on that.

Have fun.
