Recently, our Account Review Team identified some unusual activity in your account. In accordance with PayPal's User Agreement and to ensure that your account has not been compromised, access to your account was limited. To restore your account please click on the link bellow: http://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_login-run If you fail to restore your account access by the date shown below, your account will be closed. This notification expires on the 6th of March, 2005. Information about FDIC pass-through insurance It had the paypal logos and everything, clicking the link brought you to a false paypal website that looks exactly like the other one. once you sign in, you get a page to put all your personal information. I almost did this, but then to make sure I signed in on the regular paypal website to see if it brought the same page, and it didn't. Therefore this is a definate scam that almost tricked me. as you can see, the copyright in this e-mail, and the false website says 1999-2004, while on the real website its 2005. nick Posted March 7, 2005 Report Share Posted March 7, 2005 thanks i got scammed the same way through ebay i got a fake email saying the same stuff you said above but i was a dumbass and filled it out all passwords checking # pin # drivers licence # social security # next day what do you know identity theft starting buying s**t. i quickly had to change everything notified social security and the son of a bitch was caught. i hate that s**t man beware of those types of emails Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
