seth
Reshafting Cleveland 460 comp. I like very light shafts. Swing speed 105. Smooth tempo with a move at the ball, nothing jerky. ZCOM MW 54 or Speeder 553 open to other suggestions. seth cleveland 460 comp tm v steel 4 tm tp rescue 22 cg2 irons nike tw wedges bobby grace moi 7.5 mid heavy
fairwayfinder
553 is one of the best performing shafts on the market BUT then you hit a ZCom MW and its even better. If you had a quick "jerky" tempo I would say 553 but as you described the Zcoms perform just as well and feel a ton better
tsg4tch
553 plays a little stiffer, spins more than MW54 If you like the Speeder feel, go 553. Diamana supposed to be good in that head.
offtheback
I have been playing a Comp and have tried the follwing shafts in it- I have also found best results with this head by going slightly softer flex than I would normally do, say with an R7- which I usually play a X untipped. mw54 X untipped 553 stiff tipped 1/2" diamana 63ct stiff untipped So far the diamana is my favorite, with 553 close behind it... the mw54 didn't feel as good as it has in the R7 for some reason? I am trying a TW74 and 64 it in the Comp in the coming weeks, as the comp seems to benefit from a softer tip IMO. Josh
SwingMan
I have a 553 in a Mizu and a MW54 in a AGT Aurora I think the 553 is more of a hitter's shaft - I have my stiff tipped for a firm and it is great but I think The Zcom feels smoother and gets the ball up a bit more - which I like. It is a silky shaft -- just make sure you have someone that knows what they are doing as the US Zcom has a longer parallel tip section. I would presume you are more of a hitter?
seth
ED I play to a 4 handicap. Ball flight mid. Play a soft draw (when playing well). Lately with misses, pushing it right with the cleveland comp stock shaft that is 1/2 short. Swing speed 105, tempo is fairly even, on plane, i like to release at the ball. I am a shorter guy 5'7 but swing hard and try to keep it smooth. Hit down on it. Ed, dont know if that helps solidify any suggestions.
