Fujikura Tour Spec SPD 771 TA - Joe K Help

I played the 771TA after the 757

All I can Say is WOW.....

Night and day on the smooth factor and significantly less spin. Just my opinion but the 757 is not in the same league.

The 771 will have a nice flat trajectory, the reduced spin will add distance.

If the shaft is right for you and you have the correct launch angle you should see a nice increase in distance and accuracy.

Joe if you are out there I would appreciate your insights. Thanks
The playability of this shaft seems more on MID kick shaft. So hit the ball up w/ no problem.

This shaft is Butt stiff, slightly counter balance ( not as much as TW 74 or Speeder 764, especially HM4 ), Beefy butt area (it gives a high CPM # but doesn't play as stiff as the # says ). It's ussually comes in 46.5" raw. Butt diameter is around 620" ( maybe even 630' ) or so. Definitely not a boardy feel shaft.

I would have to say, It's a good for strong medium to smooth tempo players who need to lift the ball up higher. I've try this shaft on driver and 3 wood, For me It perform better in 3 wood due the nature of the shaft spec.

Similar shaft perfomance and spec to this shaft is speeder 764 w/ slightly lighter total weight and handle up to a harder swinger and IMO a better shaft if you looking to put it on a driver head. However I need to undertsand the whole issue first on your problem to be able to say 771 or 764 better.

You can call me or contact me for more info on the availability on this shaft and on other shafts option you should get to match it w/ your swing and head.

Hope I gave you enough insight here! :smile1:

Cheers!

Joe-you seem to be saying the exact oppisite of Ackrino--who is correct here?
Every body has their own opinion and respect all of them.

I gave every body my insight technically and playability base on what i got and feel. As A fuji dealer, I probably pretty much test 90% of Fuji.s shafts (japan issue and US issue ) including some tour issue. I know a few of our members here play w/ 764 also. They probably can give us some more insight.

Also swing style will give a different result too.

Good luck!

I've been playing the 771Ta for well over a year.. it 100% softer tip then a 757..hits it higher as well...sorry to say but has a tad more spin that a 757 as well.... It's a great shaft for my swing because I need to be able to get loft on my driver... Joe is spot on with this one... The shaft is silky smooth....

i have been playing this shaft for about 2 years and have had over a dozen fuji771 ta in stiff and xflex as well.....Joe is spot on with this one...it is slightly counterbalanced and the tip is lively but the butt is very stiff, it definitely does not feeel boardy and gets the ball in the air quite easily !!! i dont know what the 764 is but if it is anything like thhe 771, it is a great shaft !

ive heard some people compare this shaft to a diamana because of the balance point and the bend characteristics !

im not sure about the 764 but i had the 771ta in a 983k tour head and it was the smoothest combination i ever assembled...the only reason i got rid of it is because im a club ho !!!!! i plan to build a 905t and a 905s with the 771 or ftb70 or zcom74

I swing at 95-102 currently use a US 757 speeder in reg Flex in a Titleist bore-thru 983 K head with very nice results. i am thinking of using a 764 reg flex speeder tipped 1/4 inch in a new 905 t head 9.5 deg (same as K) what do you guys think will be similarities or differences.
Completely different feel if you compare it to 757. 764 will feel smooth and tight, not as boardy/tip stiff like 757. Will hit the ball slightly higher w/ 764.
