Posted March 29, 200519 yr comment_88594 what works best to make a wedge rust??? btw not for contest, lol, i just want my wedge to be rusty.
March 29, 200519 yr comment_88613 I find wrapping it in a wet paper towel and allowing it to dry completely is the best way. But be sure to let it dry ( that is the key to success). Good luck!
March 30, 200519 yr comment_88674 How about salted (or salt water if you live near the ocean) in a bucket? Let em sit in the bucket every other day until the desired effect is reached. Or you clould combine it with the paper towel idea. G
March 30, 200519 yr comment_88676 raw wedge + salt + water + air = RUST! or you can play golf with me on Kauai, Hawaii and it will rust in a day!
March 30, 200519 yr comment_88707 its a crappy wedge im experimenting with. well i cant sleep and its 5:00 am, and theres no point in going back to bed for an hour and a half...so im posting messages :) ----- do you guys get a lot of humidity up north? if you do, just play a few rounds, clean it, but dont dry it, and leave it outside. sprinkle some salt in the water you clean it with if you want it to happen faster. if you get a chance to play by an ocean for a week or so then it will help it rust dramatically. make sure that its not a finished or chrome wedge, no matter how crappy it is. if theres a coating on it, most likely its going to take a lot of time for that to wear off.

March 31, 200519 yr Author comment_88915 Coca Cola! That ish will eat anything. Â  Ill give that a try in the second wedge i have. see how it goes. i used salt water before..works pretty good ill use this in the other. warm water and lots of salt???? or any water??? thanks guys.
April 2, 200519 yr comment_89164 it doesn't matter what temperature water you use, just make sure you air it out longer than you soak it. I found a 2:1 air ratio works the best. Something like 1 hour soaking and 2 hours air, or even better is 1 day soaking and 2 days air. hope this helps

April 2, 200519 yr comment_89193 i think he means that putting the finished wedge in coke will take off the finish, as in coke is a pretty powerful and acidic solvent
April 2, 200519 yr comment_89220 yeah i think the coke will romove the finish, but coke is supposed to take away rust, so i don't know how it'll work after you put it in salt water. If you have 2 wedges you're testing with, i'd coke one, then salt water it, and just salt water the other one and see the difference. Maybe the salt water will take of the finish too, who knows
