Tourstage X-01 Ball

What an awesome golf ball. Is there an identical US branded ball in the market place today? Nike One Black seems very similar.

You ever try the X-01S ? Much better feel than the X-01 and not much difference in performance.

I have not tried the S. My friend brought back from Japan a dz X-01s in the gold/black checker box. The ball performs like the new Bridgestone Ball that everyone is raving about. Except the X-01 does not have the garbage cover that scuffs whenever a wedge bumps into it like the BS Ball.

None so far for me. I have been in search of a replacement as well because the X01 is so expensive. TaipanLi and I went down the same road with the Z-Ur. Disappointing ball. The Urx is a better ball.

I prefer the X01 over the X01S. The S stands for "soft". I presume it has a lower compression because it spins less on partial shots and chips. I have not played the BS330 but the cover of the X01 I would rate as decent. The best cover among all the TS balls that I play which has the best balance on playability is the <UX-s> which is supposedly the U tri Tour but for me the <UX-s> seems to putt better than the U-Tri Tour (not as clicky).

I saw in the Dynasty Cup thread a pic of a X01-H? Anyone know what that ball is?

Not a lot of help but a friend says the Nike Black for him plays close enough.

I'm fortunate enough to get the X-01 or X-01S at good prices in HK. When I had to order them from Japan I was a little reluctant but now I can play them for about $45 a dozen. This works out to be similar to what I would have to pay for any ball I would order from the US when you factor in shipping.

The X-01H is closer in specs to the X-01. Characteristics are supposedly similar to the X-01 but with a slightly lower compression and I believe a different dimple pattern. You can check on the website but I believe the compressions are X-01 at 95, X-01H at 93, and X-01S at 87 (might be slightly off but that's the range). If I weren't particular about the feel, I would stick with the X-01 (or try the X-01H) as it plays a little longer with less spin. However, feel is of paramount importance to my game so I play the X-01S.

TaipanLi,

Maybe be it's my steep swing then that somehow spins the X01 a little more than the X01soft :smile1: . I also have a pipeline to grade AAA Tourstage X01 and X01S balls. It's at one of my home courses that I play once a month $.50/ball for grade AAA. Lots of Japanese Tourists at that ravine course make for a lot of lost balls. I've even picked up a couple of rare balls to try at that course (Air Bidan, the new BEAMs, etc.).

The X01Hs sound right up my alley. BTW I've finished my doz of ZURs. I should've traded them in instead for a couple sleeves of at least a UTri Tour.
