i was wondering if any of you guys had any suggestions for a durable 3/4 peice golf ball. im currently using ProV1's & im sick of replacing balls after every 2/3 holes or after a wedge shot, even after long iron shots after really getting down on it im ripping the cover. ive been thinking about going to the blackmax but if its the same situation ill stick with the ProV1's. i only get 6doz every 6 weeks from Titleist, ive been thinking i should goto the ProV1 practice balls during practice rounds & saving the regulars for tournament play. its really rediculous, after every wedge shot its as though i could peel the cover off, like i placed the ball on a grill. any ball suggestions with the ProV's characteristics?

ive noticed that 2 with the pro v1. thats y im trying the nike one gold and nike mojo. i dunno, maybe the nxt tour. they 3 piece?

don't go with the hx tour, its probably less durable than the pro v1. I had a 2 ball sleeve that i got for free and was hitting it in my backyard the other day and a half wedge that landed on gravel put a big scrape on it from the wedge, and a pencil tip sized hole from a rock. Thats just not cool

no that isnt at all.

Nike One Black!!!

VERY durable!!! Have used them for a round + in some cases.

im gonna hafta dig in my pockets & buy a dozen! hows it with the driver @120+ swing speeds? & is it easy to control spin on wedge shots?

well i've got a 110 mph swing speed and i hit it 10-15 yards farther than a pro-v1x and as far as wedges go it spins with the best of them

HX Blue is probably the least durable ball out there, it's total putty but it's great on tarmac greens, highest spinning ball out there.

I'd say you'd have to stop with the premium softcovers and play something a little harder esp in the wet damp conditions, if you hosing Pro V covers, everything else at the top end will carve up... the Nikes and Top end Top Flights and all these other mentioned balls actually sheer instead of shredding which for me is worse, the ball is rendered unaerodynamic after one hole hitting a wedge

stick with the prov1 then??? they are coming for nothing but only 6doz every 6 weeks, but chaning balls every 2/3 holes doesnt get them to last, my shag bag is 80% bran new prov1's!

Don't know if this helps but I found the Maxfli covers to be a good half way house, not too plasticy covered and sheering but more resiliant than the others. Not my choice for a tournament ball (mines are HX Blue for hardpan, ProV softer conditions) but good for practice bounce games. Maybe your Adidas/TM rep could sort you out.

just asked my TM rep to send me a few doz. to try out, i liked the hx red before the hx tour came out but i found the covers to peel the same as the prov1.
