Hi,

I am about to pull the trigger on a Taylormade r540xd tour head. It looks perfectly legit with a Txxxxx serial number, but above the serial number there is a B above it.

Does anyone know what this stands for, i am really close to buying this club so quick replies would be appreciated.

i dont know what the "B" stands for but it is legit, my 8.5 R5 dual TP has a C above the Txxxxx #'s & my 10.5 R5 dual TP has a B above the Txxxxx #'s. i have also gotten other drivers from my TM tour rep with B & C above the serial #'s. there is no question that your bidding on a 540xd TP but i dont think the B means anything besides maybe where it came from. if you need to know that badly ill ask my TM tour rep for you.

The B and C etc are just batch numbers. Not something to worry about.

The Txxxxx is what you need to see. Also, the 540 XD TP head can easily be differentiated from retail by comparing the 2 heads near the weight port area.

THERE IS NO RETAIL R540XD TP HEADS, THEY WERE NEVER RELEASED TO THE PUBLIC

Cheers guys i bought it, it definately looks legit as i have used the search function and compared the club to several posts about it. It has

1 The T XXXXX serial number

2. TP Logo on the toe

3. Underlined .5 degree mark

4. Different sole design to the retail xd- like the origonal r500 series sole

I will let you know how i get on....

Sorry to bring this up again but its better than bringing up a new post....

I now have the head and will soon order a GD Purple ice to go in it, is this a good combination?

Also as i am at home and ordering the shaft over the phone i assume the shaft is a .335 standard bore? I cant get any thing in more than an inch and a half/ 2 inches in to the head, leaving an inch and a half between the bottom of the shaft and the sole of the driver. Does this sound about right?
