Posted May 12, 200519 yr comment_93911 1- is it true that if you play your irons over standard length, that the project x shafts start to play firmer? 2- if the above statement is true, and i put 5.5 project x in my irons(5 iron= 38.5 inches) what will happen to my swingweight, and how much firmer will these shafts become?
May 12, 200519 yr comment_93914 i'm on my second set of project x's and i'd have to say they're pretty consistant to flex no matter what length you play them at (butt trimming of course) they do tend to play .5 stiffer than normal rifle shafts (px 5.5 plays more like a 6.0)

Say if the swing weight at 38" on the 5 iron is D2, Providing the swing weight is the same at 38.5"...The flex will be 1/4 flex stiffer.Per 1/2" is equal to 3 swing weight, so if you didn't do any adjustment on the club head, the swing weight should go up 3 point and the flex should stay the same. Good luck! Joe
May 13, 200519 yr Author comment_94028 thanks guys, as far as swingweight, since the project x is a lighter shaft, will this increase the clubs swingweight? also i am in the understanding that if you increase swingweight you will decrease the shafts stiffness.
